The Family Dinner

Oliver led Ava to a private box, and when they entered, the room was full of people. Oliver's parents, grandparents, Erika and her parents, Arvin all were present there. For a moment Ava froze in place, although she knew all of them, she still became very nervous. However, Oliver's reassuring arms held her tightly giving her all the courage she needed. Ava slowly went inside and greeted the elders politely. Oliver opened a chair for Ava like a gentleman and helped her sit down.

Oliver introduced the two families and they exchanged greetings and sat down happily. Within a few minutes, the atmosphere eased up and they started to talk and laugh over various topics.

Lilly, who has been anxious the whole time about the Knight, finally understood why Ava was so fond of them especially Ella. Lilly was at first very rigid but seeing Oliver's parents and grandparents being so kind to them and caring toward Ava she relaxed and slowly opened up. All her worries were gone in minutes and she was very happy that Ava found such a warm family.

"Ava, have this ribs soup, it's delicious and very nutritious. It will be good for the baby's health." Elizabeth said with a smile and personally served a bowl of soup to Ava. She heard from Ella that Ava was pregnant she was very happy because now she would get to hold her great-grandson right away in her arm.

"Thank you, grandma," Ava said with a shy smile. Ava was ecstatic seeing all of them so happy and get along so easily. Before coming here Ava was worried about her mother but now she could see in her mother's face that she was very satisfied with Oliver's family so Ava felt relieved.

"Yes, Ava. You need to eat more, you are so thin." Ella also said and put a piece of beef into Ava's bowl.

"Thank you, auntie," Ava said with a smile.

"Silly child, still calling me auntie, I am about to become your mother-in-law," Ella said sullenly.

Ava felt embarrassed, she quickly said in a low voice, "Thank you, mom."

"You don't have to thank me, child. Eat." Ella patted Ava on the shoulder. The joy in her eyes was very clear.

The dinner was very enjoyable and Ava was very happy the whole time. After dinner, the elders started to discuss the wedding details. They talked, laughed, took each other opinions on important matters, and overall the atmosphere was very harmonious.

"The wedding venue is set at Suifeng resort. At 10 a.m., the bridegrooms will pick up the brides. Husband, do you think it will be convenient to fly there by plane or drive the car? I'm afraid the city traffic is so bad these days, we won't be able to make it on time if we drive. " Ella checked the route details on her tab and asked Conner worriedly.

"You are right, we should not take a chance, we will fly." Conner agreed with Ella.

Ava stared at the elders dumbfounded as she listened to them discussing how to get to the wedding venue. If they flew to the wedding venue by plane it will be a piece of sensational news. Then again what was she expecting two of the Knights and the only heir of the O'Neil's were getting married, it was bound to be a high-profile wedding ceremony.

"Rika, Arvin, what's your opinion?"

"Whatever Rika wants I am fine with it," Arvin said looking at Erika,

"I don't mind, either is fine by me."

"I am really happy that both of you are getting married together. We must hold the ceremony with all the rituals and customs properly. I have already booked the best photographer for your pre-wedding pictures. It will be the best wedding ceremony ever." Ella said beaming with joy.

Ava hardly said a word, although it was her wedding details but she was happy to let the elder decide everything. However, after sitting there idle for a while she started to feel very sleepy. Her eyelids felt so heavy that she could barely keep her eyes open. Ava rubbed her eyes, but her head felt a little dizzy too.

Oliver noticed Ava's tiredness. He held her hand and asked carefully, "Ava, are you feeling sleepy?"

Ava quickly shook her head, the elders were discussing everything so enthusiastically she didn't want to interrupt them so she smiled and said, "no, I'm ok." But her tired eyes betrayed her words.

"Let's go." Oliver stood up, holding Ava by the waist.

"Where to?" Ava asked puzzled.

"Home, you need to rest." Oliver's cold voice was a bit loud, so everyone heard it and stopped talking.

"Ava, are you feeling tired?" Lilly turned and looked at Ava who was in Oliver's arm.

"A little," Ava said feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Oliver, take Ava home quickly and let her have a good rest. The first three months of the pregnancy are the most difficult and are very tiresome." Ella quickly stood up and came to Oliver.

"Yes mom, I'll take Ava back." Oliver scooped Ava in his arm and walked out of the box elegantly.

Oliver took Ava to the Elevator and pressed the button to the parking lot. They were the only ones in the elevator so Ava decided to talk to Oliver about Sam and clear his doubts, otherwise, she wouldn't be able to sleep well tonight.
