Making Breakfast

Oliver didn't put Ava down in the elevator so she was holding onto his neck. Ava suddenly looked at him sincerely and said in a gentle voice, "Oliver, I went to see Sam today to inform him about the wedding and to invite him, he is my old friend after all. It was not what you think, it was raining heavily so Sam helped me with his umbrella. He was actually holding me so I wouldn't get wet or fall in the rain, I really have nothing to do with him. In fact, today he even said that from now on we should treat each other like brother and sister. So please don't misunderstand me."

"Silly girl, you don't need to explain, I trust you. But you need to understand that I don't like you being close to any other man, I am a very jealous type of person and you know what I would do if I get jealous again." Oliver said giving Ava a meaningful look.

"What if there is some kind of situation like today?" Ava saw Oliver was not angry about it so she was relieved.

"Not even then," Oliver said narrowing his eyes.

"But it was raining heavily, what was I supposed to do? Push him away? Beside it was his umbrella." Ava said looking at him stupefied and thinking how can he be so unreasonable?

"So?" Oliver asked, squinting his eyes.

Ava stared at him speechlessly, then asked, "So you are telling me, if a beautiful woman was holding an umbrella for you under the heavy rain, You would simply just pushed her away?"

"Are you joking? Of course, I would. Don't you know I am OCD?" Oliver said wrinkling his nose in disgust.

Ava burst out laughing at his reaction and gently placed a soft kiss on his cheek.

"Here, this is your reward for your answer and you don't have to return it," Ava said with a smile.

Oliver looked at her with burning eyes and said, "But I want to return it." Saying that he sealed her lips.

Oliver didn't let her go until he heard the elevator stop at the parking lot. He carried Ava to his car and got home.

Ava slept the whole night soundly in Oliver's arm.

The next morning, it was a sunny day, in the very early morning the sun was shining in the clear sky. Oliver woke up and called someone to come and move the violin crystal box from the bedroom to the third floor. Once done he locked the room again.

These days Ava always wakes up late so Oliver took the chance to finish some official work and some wedding preparation before she woke up, then he came downstairs intending to make something for Ava for breakfast.

"Mr. Knight, what are you doing in the kitchen?" Mrs. Lee stared at Oliver and asked dumbfounded. She has been working here for so many months but she has never seen Oliver step into the kitchen even once.

"I am making a bowl of noodles for Ava. She has been throwing up everything she eats, especially in the morning. So for a change, I want to make noodles today." Oliver rolled up his sleeves and start to do the preparation in the kitchen.

Mrs. Lee stood there and helped him every now and then as she did the preparation for other breakfast.

Ava woke up and felt Oliver's side of the bed was cold, she realized he woke up a long time ago and wondered where he was, last night he said he will not go to work today. She sat up on the bed lazily and looking at the room she felt, something was not right. For a while she couldn't put her finger on what was wrong with the room, then she realized the Violin box was not there anymore. Did Oliver move the Violin? But why? Ava stared at the empty space where the violin used to be a little puzzled!

Ava jumped out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up then came downstairs to look for Oliver. When she came to the living room it was very quiet but there was noise coming from the kitchen. Ava knew Mrs. Lee works very quietly so it couldn't be her, curiously she walked toward the kitchen. As she stood at the door she saw Oliver was running and working in the kitchen wearing an apron. A smile showed up on her soft lips, this was not the first time she has seen Oliver in the kitchen but still, the scene made her feel very warm in her heart. She leaned on the door frame and kept watching him making breakfast.

Oliver felt someone's eyes on him, he abruptly turned his head and was greeted by Ava's beautiful smiley face. He smiled back and said, "Good morning, baby. You woke up!"

"Good morning. What are you doing in the kitchen?" Ava asked with a smile.

"Making something for you to eat. You wait in the dining room, I'll bring it to you right away." Oliver moved his spatula and said as he turned off the stove.

After a while, Oliver and Mrs. Lee brought a table full of rich breakfast, fried egg, preserved egg, and lean meat porridge, milk, wonton, steamed bun, and noodles.

Ava looked at the food in front of her surprised and asked, "Oliver, did you make all this?"

"Not all of it, Mrs. Lee made some of it and helped me with some. Have the noodles, I made it especially for you." Oliver said with a dotting smile as he pushed the bowl of noodles toward Ava.

Mrs. Lee smiled and quietly left the two to have breakfast. She felt very happy to see Oliver and Ava love and care for each other so much. This gave her a warm feeling of home.
