Ava came out of the bathroom wiping her hair with the towel, she thought she would be alone in the room but saw Oliver was still there and there was an extra pillow and quilt was on the sofa. Ava stared at him and asked, "Why are you still here?"
"Where do you want me to go?" Oliver sat down on the sofa, his eyes were downcast and his handsome face looked lost.
Ava looks at his aggrieved face, she felt guilty. She started to scold herself secretly, 'why did she have to be so harsh to him, he loves her and treats her so well. She wouldn't want to lose a person like that, would she?' For a moment Ava's heart softened and she wanted to call him to bed but then she remembered how he argued with her downstairs and refused to tell her about his ex. She immediately controlled her heart and put away the guilt, if he was going to be so stubborn then she cannot go soft on him either.
Ava looked at him with complicated eyes then said, "There are so many guest rooms in here, you can sleep in any of them."
"You want me to leave that bad?" Oliver asked with narrowed eyes.
"Yes," Ava said in a low voice as she looked away uncomfortably. Ava thought Oliver will leave immediately but to her surprise, Oliver just opened the quilt and lay down on the sofa.
"Good night, wife," Oliver said in a tired voice.
Ava stared at him in a daze, she felt bad that after such a long day at the office, she made him sleep on the sofa. She could see Oliver's tall body didn't fit on the sofa, but she stubbornly held her ground and climbed on the bed. It didn't take long for her to fall asleep, but in her sleepy state, she felt like she was in Oliver's warm arm.
The next morning, the sun was shining outside. Because of her restless mind, Ava didn't sleep well at night so she felt her head was aching. She subconsciously reached out to hold Oliver, however, found Oliver's side of the bed was empty. Ava slowly opened her eyes and remembered she made him sleep on the sofa last night. Ava took a pick from the quilt and saw the tall man was sleeping in a weird position on the sofa. He looked really pitiful, Ava instantly felt bad for fighting with him last night. Her anger has already subsided so she quickly got out of the bed and went to Oliver.
"Oliver, wake up and go to bed." Ava shook Oliver gently and said in a soft voice
"You will let me sleep on the bed now?" Oliver turned, opened his dark eyes, and said with a faint smile.
Ava was flustered. Looks like he woke up a long time ago, "When did you wake up? "
"I heard an angel call me, and I woke up," Oliver said in a smooth voice. He quickly got up from the sofa and took Ava to bed with him.
Actually, last night after Ava fell asleep he went to the bed and slept there holding her in his arms. As she was very tired she didn't realize it at all.
"Wife, I can't sleep well without holding you. Can we please not sleep separately again?" Oliver said feeling wronged. After Ava fell asleep Oliver thought about what she had said, and he felt she was right, she did deserve to know. He also wanted to tell her everything but now that he hid the whole thing from her for so long, he didn't know how to talk about it.
"Well, it depends. If you make me angry again I will let you sleep on the sofa every day." Ava said with a pout.
Oliver reached out and pinched Ava's nose, then said with a helpless smile, "you woman is really lawless."
"Well, no one told you to bear with it," Ava said with a wild smile.
"You have such a temper, who would dare to be with you except me."
"Nonsense, there are so many people who like me."
"And who are these people?" Oliver asked with a raised eyebrows and narrowed eyes.
Of course, Ava was not stupid to tell him who likes her. She laughed and said, "No you are right, I am ugly. Nobody likes me except you."
"You seem to be a little self-conscious," Oliver said teasing Ava.
"Oliver!" Ava shouted out as her face become dark.
"Yes!" Oliver's magnetic voice was thick and loud.
"Let go of me, I am going to leave you alone." Ava pushed Oliver away, turned her back toward him.
"Never! Now kiss me." Oliver held her waist and force her to turn to him.
"Go away, why would I kiss you? Who are you?" Ava pretended to be angry but her traitor body already leaned toward Oliver.
"I'm your husband." Oliver pushed Ava to the bed gently and started to kiss her.
