Meeting the Parker's

Ava stood there frozen at the door. She didn't know what kind of emotion she was feeling at that moment. She was confused, surprised, and happy at the same time. It's Melody, she was alive. Ava has been grieving the death of her friend for years and now she was standing right in front of her smiling just like she used when they were in high school. Although her face looked more mature now but that innocent smile was still in there. Ava kept staring at the girl in front of her not knowing how to greet her or what to say.

"Hello! Can I help you? Are you looking for someone?" The girl asked in a soft voice looking at Ava a bit puzzled.

"Mel, it's me Ava. Can't you recognize me?" Ava finally came back to her senses and asked excitedly grabbing Melody's arm. Ava felt she was dreaming and any anytime the person in front of her will disappear. But she couldn't understand why Melody was pretending not to know her. Did her appearance change that much for Melody not to recognize her? Ava was even more puzzled now

"Sorry, I... I don't know you." the girl pursed her lips and slowly shook off Ava's hand.

Ava frowned, but she said in a soft voice, "Mel, we used to be best friends in high school. We have been together since we were kids, don't you remember?"

"I am sorry I can't remember you," the girl said with creased eyebrows.

Ava quickly took out her phone and showed the girl some pictures of them together from high school. The pictures showed how close they used to be.

"Here see these pictures, it's you and me."

The girl looked at the pictures and asked confusedly, "I don't remember taking these pictures. I am sorry, I can't remember anything."

Ava was flustered, she didn't know how to make her believe they were friends. Even after showing her their pictures, why she was still refusing to recognize her? Did she lose her memory in the accident or something?

"Melody, who is at the door?" Grace's gentle voice came from inside and soon she peeped at the door to see who was there. But the moment she saw Ava at the door she was stunned and Grace was taken back seeing Ava with a bulging stomach at her door.

"Hello Auntie, I'm Ava." Ava saw Grace, she said uncertainly. She didn't know what happened between the Parkers and the Greens so she was not sure how Grace will react seeing her here.

"I am sorry, you are probably in the wrong house. Melody, come inside and close the door." Grace said coldly and there was a hint of anger in Grace's eyes. She still hasn't forgotten how Lilly treated them in the hospital so she hated the Green family.

"Auntie, I'm Ava, Ava Green. Please don't close the door." Ava raised her hand to stopped Grace from closing the door but her fingers got in between the door. If it was not for Daniel her fingers would be completely broken. Daniel pulled Ava's hand and pushed the door open with force.

Daniel grabs Ava's long fingers with a burning heart and carefully looked at them to make sure that she was not hurt. Then he started to scold her angrily, "Ava are you crazy? How can you be so stupid to put your hand in the door? Don't you want to participate in the competition?"

Ava embarrassedly pulled her hand back. Honestly, she wasn't thinking at all. She just wanted to stop Grace from closing the door. Now that she realized what she had done she was grateful to Daniel for pulling her hand on time.

Grace was a bit embarrased, she didn't mean to hurt Ava, she thought Ava will leave if she refuse to recognise her. She didn't expect Ava to put her fingers in between the door to keep her from close it. However she still stood at the open door with an angry face, neither she said anything nor she invited her in.

"Auntie, why are you refusing to know me? Is there any misunderstanding between us?" Ava asked in a soft voice. At this point, she was sure something had happened after the accident for Grace to react like this.

Before Grace could answer her, Melody suddenly grabbed her arm and said softly, "Mom, I think I used to know her. You see she is pregnant, let her in. It's cold outside."

Grace was still unwilling but looking at Ava's stomach, she decided to listen to her daughter. She moved from the door and said annoyed, "come in."

Although Grace was short-tempered, but she was still a rational person. She knew there was no point to be angry with Ava, she was not at fault. It was Lilly who she was angry with but it was a long time ago. Besides Melody and Ava always had such a good relationship. Now that Melody was back it's time for her to put those old grudges behind. Although by heart she was not sure if it was her Melody.
