Oliver's business trip lasted for three days. As soon as he finished his work he came back home to his wife.
Ava was sitting on the balcony watching the scenery outside and enjoying the spring wind when she heard the car engine noise. Ava stood up happily and looked down, she saw Oliver getting out of the car wearing a black suit, he was looking as handsome as always. He took out his suitcase from the trunk and walked toward the front door. Ava slowly stood up and came to the door to greet Oliver.
Oliver dragged his suitcase to the second floor and seeing Ava at the door he ran to her and took her in his arm then gently kissed her. He really missed his wife. He looked at her with affectionate eyes as asked softly, "How are you doing my wife, and how is my princess? I really missed you."
Ava was a bit surprised to hear that because Oliver almost never says that he misses her. She smiled warmly and said, " We are doing good and we missed you too."
Oliver led Ava to the sofa and sat down, he opened his suitcase and took out a box of handmade chocolates with exquisite packaging. He knew Ava liked to eat sweet things so he specially ordered these chocolates for her.
Ava was so happy she opened the box immediately and started to eat the chocolate. Oliver shook his head helplessly and said, "Baby, I know you love them but you cannot eat too many of them together, OK! " Oliver touched Ava's head and said with a smile.
Ava pouted then nodded her head. Oliver placed a soft kiss on the top of her head and walked toward his study with an important file in his hand.
Ava opened Oliver's suitcase intending to unpack it. She slowly took out his clothes one by one and before putting them into the laundry bin she carefully checked his pockets in case he left anything important inside. Suddenly Ava found chestnut hair in his cloth, it's was long so obviously, it's a woman's hair.
Ava stared at the hair as her heart tightened. The first question that came into her mind was, was Oliver cheating on her? She wanted to take the hair to Oliver and ask him why there is a woman's hair on his clothes. But she didn't, instead, she calmed herself down and tried to be rational. She knew her husband, he wouldn't cheat on her. Oliver was not that kind of person. Although Ava always felt that Oliver hid many things from her but her heart didn't want to believe that Oliver would cheat on her. Ava threw the hair into the garbage bin and walked toward Oliver's study with a smile on her face.
Oliver was reading a document, he heard the sound of an opening door and looked up, seeing Ava he smiled at her.
Ava came to him and asked gently, "How was your business trip?"
"Smooth, otherwise do you think I wouldn't be able to come home so early." Oliver pulled Ava and make her sit on his lap.
"Well, that's good. Finish your work quickly, I'll go downstairs and Practice for a while."
"OK." Oliver pecked a kiss on the corner of her lips and let her go.
Ava sat down on the Piano bench and started to play a simple tune but she kept making mistakes as her mind was not in the music. She kept thinking about the hair. She wondered if she asked about the hair what would Oliver say. Would he lie? Was there a woman with him in the hotel room? Or was it possible that the hair was one of the hotel staff and it somehow fell on his clothes when she was cleaning? A lot of things were going on Ava's mind.
Maybe she was thinking too much about all this. Possibly all this was just a coincidence. She didn't want to say anything to Oliver that will create misunderstanding between them so Ava decided to let this go.
The next day, Oliver went to work very early in the morning as usual. Ava woke up slowly and cleaned up. She was about to go downstairs when her phone made a beeping noise. Ava wondered who would text her in the early morning. She opened the text and froze in place. It was from an unknown number saying, 'Do you know what your husband is hiding behind your back? Go to the secret room if you want answers.'
Ava stared at the text puzzled, the secret room? She almost forgot about that room upstairs. What's in that room? Indeed she wanted to know so Ava decided to break into that room. She knew if she asked Oliver he wouldn't answer her or tell her the truth. She tried that before so this time she wouldn't ask him, she will see for herself. Ava thought for a while and came downstairs with a list in her hand.
Ava came to Mrs. Lee who was cleaning the living room and said with a smile handing the list, "Mrs. Lee, I need some things from the supermarket, can you please get them for me?"
Mrs. Lee smiled but said uncomfortably, "But Madam you will be all alone at home." Oliver strictly instructed her not to leave Ava alone at home ever.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine. It's not many things, so it should not take you long." Ava said with a sweet smile.
Mrs. Lee thought it's true so she didn't hesitate anymore and quickly got out to get the things Ava asked for from the supermarket.
Ava went to the storage after Mrs. Lee left and took out a small axe. She slowly walked up to the third floor. The room was in the middle of the third floor. Ava hardly came onto this floor so she never really crossed this room before, she only heard about it. The locked room with white door and golden frame.
Ava slowly came in front of the room and stood there for a second. She didn't know why but she was having a very bad feeling in her heart like, if she opened the door of this room something bad is going to happen. Ava almost abandoned the idea of checking it but then she remembered the text she received in the morning and with a trembling hand she turned the knob of the room.
As expected the door was locked. Ava took the small axe and hit it on the doorknob. After trying a few times the doorknob finally broke. Ava held her breath and slowly pushed the door open.
