Quarrel with the manager

The store manager came hearing the noise of the broken cup and seeing the mess in front of the front counter he got very angry. Sarah has been working here for only 20 days. She was good at her job but the manager didn't care about that, he would pick on his employees every chance he would get, he didn't want his employees to think he was an easy boss.

He came to Sarah and started to shout at her angrily. "Sarah, what is wrong with you how did you break a cup? I don't understand why college students like you, bother to take a job when they are not even responsible enough to do it right. You need to be taught a lesson. Your three hours' salary will be deducted as your punishment for breaking the cup and spilling coffee. "

Sarah felt bad because she was not careful enough to break a cup, she just got a little carried away seeing Ava after three years. So she decided to apologize. "Mr. Robert, I am so sorry. I ..." Sarah said in a low voice but before she could finish, Ava spoke up in a strong voice.

"How can you deduct three hours for a cup that barely cost you 5 dollars? Just because she is a college student doesn't mean you get to bully her?" Ava said in a slightly angry tone. She knew this kind of people very well, they would never appreciate the good work and would always find a way to bully their employees to prove themselves superior. Ava hated people like them.

"Well, I'm the store manager here and I get to decide how to handle my employees here. Who are you to lecture me?" The store manager said in a very harsh tone and he looked at Ava.

"In that case, she will not work here anymore. Please settle her salary." Ava was even angrier now.

"What salary? She signed a contract with me. Either she will have to work for 3 months or she won't get any salary at all. If you want to take her from here go ahead, there is the door but don't expect a penny from me." The store manager said in a proud tone as if he just won a battle.

Ava suddenly smiled, "How can you make up such a bullshit clause in a contract, aren't you afraid of going to jail for breaking the law?"

"Well, this is the law and our shop has always been like this, if anyone wants to work here, have to follow the shop rule. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to deal with my lazy employee. Sarah, what are you still doing there standing, clean up this mess, and go back to work." The store manager looked at Sarah coldly and said in a commanding tone.

Ben has been quiet so far as Ava was handling it but now hearing the man his blood started to boil. How could he talk to Sarah like that in front of him? Ben stopped the manager and looked at him coldly. His stare was so intimidating that he saw the manager shivering a little.

"Mr. Robert you need to watch your tone and don't bullshit people thinking they don't know anything about Law. I'm a law student myself, are you sure you want to pull that crap in front of me? I don't want to make trouble here, Settle Sarah's salary and we will be on our way." Ben said in a very calm tone but his anger was apparent.

The Manager shivered again seeing the cold stare, he swallowed hard but still said bravely, "What do you mean by trouble? What can you do? This is my shop..." Before he could finish the sentence Ben stepped forward and held his arm in a tight grip. Ben had been preparing for Military school before he decided to study law so his body was strong and his strength was great.

The manager now was very scared he said stammering, "OK…OK, I'll pay her, let me go."

Ben let him go and he ran inside in a flash. He came back within 5 minutes with an envelope in his hand and politely handed it to Sarah.

Sarah took the envelope and checked the money inside with bitterness in her heart. This was her first job, it was not easy to be a waiter but she tried her best to do her job sincerely. It's her bad luck that the manager here never appreciated her effort and now for a simple mistake, she had to lose the job.

Three of them walked out of the Coffee shop and Ava took Sarah and Ben to the nearest dessert shop. They found a seat and sat there happily.

"Sister, are you really back?" Sarah was sitting beside Ava she asked holding her as tears streaming through her eyes. She had so many questions in her mind but she didn't want to ask them in front of Ben.

"Silly girl, stop crying. Yes, I'm back. Come let's have something sweet to eat and sweeten your mood. What do you want?" Ava said trying to hold back her own tears and distracted herself with the order. It's been too long since she felt the warmth of her close one.

Sarah sniffed and wiped the tears then said with a bright smile, "I'll have cheesecake and Coffee."

Ben and Ava just ordered coffee and chatted for a while before Ben excused himself and left the two sisters to catch up.
