Where, it all started

Hotel Peninsula.

Nina was in room no 1313. Uncle Joe bought a lot of snacks and toys for her but Nina was sitting on the sofa and crying.

"Who are you and why did you bring me here? You told me Mom and Dad are waiting for me at the ice crème parlor then why did you bring me here?" Nina said and kept crying.

Uncle Joe sat opposite Nina with a solemn face. He felt a headache, he didn't have children so he had no idea how to deal with a crying girl. On top of that, he was in the army so he couldn't go soft and sweet talk. He would always talk coldly and indifferently, now he was having a hard time calming the girl down.

"Little girl, listen to me. I have already called your mother and she will be here in a while. Now be a good girl and eat something before you get more hungry. OK! Here I have got some delicious snacks for you." Uncle Joe held out the snack bag toward Nina.

At that time, Oliver swiped the room card and entered room 1313. He walked to the little girl who was crying on the big couch. He stood in front of her with a hard and cold face. Nina instantly shrank back into the couch. She was very afraid to see Oliver's cold face. She already recognized Oliver from the zoo, he knew her parents but she couldn't understand why he brought her here.

Oliver stared at the little girl and suddenly his mind went back to Ava when he met her for the first time. The innocent and timid look, full of hesitation and fear. Although Ava has always been stubborn but she used to be the submissive type in front of him and he loved that. Seeing the girl for some reason Oliver saw a shadow of Ava in her. He knew Ava didn't give birth to this little girl but as she raised her, the girl turned out to be just like her.

"What's your name, little girl? Nina, is it?"

Nina stared at Oliver with wide eyes but was very scared to speak so she just nodded her head.

Oliver understood immediately that the girl must be scared because when he saw her last time at the zoo, she looked very energetic and happy. Oliver softened his tone a little and asked, "Why aren't you talking? Are you afraid of me?"

Nina swallowed and said in a timid small voice, "Uncle, why did you bring me here? Do you know my mother?"

Oliver suddenly laughed out loud but didn't answer her. What to tell anyway, this girl wouldn't understand the complicacy of their relationship. Oliver turned to Uncle Joe and said, "Take good care of her until her mother is here. Don't let her run into her until I am done talking."

Saying that Oliver turned and left the room. He had no intention to harm this little girl, he might be cruel but not heartless, moreover, he was also a father so he couldn't possibly harm a child. He just needed something that will lead Ava to him and what could be better than her adopted daughter?

Ten minutes later Ava rushed to the hotel and came in front of the familiar presidential suite 1314. This was the room where she lost her virginity to Oliver four years ago. This was where it all started. Ava suddenly got a little nostalgic thinking of all the events that happened after she met Oliver. After all these years once again she was in front of the same room. Ava closed her eyes and settled her restless heart. With hesitation, Ava knocked on the door and heard Oliver's deep voice say, "Come in."

Ava took a deep breath before she entered the suite. As she looked around she saw Oliver was sitting by the window holding a cup of coffee in his hand. He was looking her way.

Oliver stared at Ava with a smile on his face and put down the cup on the table as he stood up straight. "Missed me, honey?"

Oliver suddenly reached to Ava with long strides and without warning held her in his arm. Ava was so shocked that she couldn't react for a few seconds, when she realized she was in Oliver's arms she instantly tried to free herself by pushing him away but who was Oliver knight? How could he let her go that easily? He hasn't held her in his arm for years, her soft body, the intoxicating smell was the reminder of what he has been missing all these years. He couldn't let her go. He will never let her go again. He needed her like air.

After a while, Ava gave up the struggle knowing it was pointless and they stood there in each other's arms.
