Old Scars

Ava took a few deep breaths and finally calm herself down, when she thought her emotions were in check, she turned to Oliver and said in a cold tone, "What do you want, Oliver?"

Oliver has been observing her but the moment she asked the question he snapped and with two big strides he came to her. He held her in his arm like he was holding onto dear life, then without any warning, he started to kiss her passionately. Ava couldn't react on time when she realized what was happening she was so lost that she stood there frozen with a blank mind, Oliver took the chance and invaded her mouth exploring every inch.

When Ava finally gained her conscious she immediately pushed Oliver hard and took two steps back creating some distance between them. She couldn't do this, she couldn't betray Daniel like this, he didn't deserve it after all he had done for her. Ava felt ashamed and her eyes turned red in grievances.

Ava angrily said, "Oliver, stop messing around. You cannot just kiss someone like that. "

"I'm messing around? Did you forget that we are still husband and wife? I think it's only natural for me to kiss my own wife. Don't you think?" Oliver said with a cold smile, he was boiling from rage inside. How dare she refuse him!

Ava's whole body became stiff in an instant. He was right, of course, he was right. It was normal for a husband to kiss his wife and legally she was still his wife. Ava could never be Melody. Before the incident, she always wondered why did Oliver chase after her and married her when he had more suitable suitors, but when she found out Melody was his first love she realized Oliver could never move on from Melody, and as Melody was her best friend their character resembled a little. They both were calm and collective, warm and soft. At least that's how Ava portrayed herself in front of the outsiders but Inside Ava was completely the opposite. Oliver must have thought she was like Melody and decided to use her as Melody's substitute. In fact, she remembered Kiara once told her she was just a substitute for Oliver's first love. At that time she didn't believe her and thought she was trying to sow discord between Oliver and her but later she realized she should have believed her back then if she did, she wouldn't have to go through hell.

Oliver's face instantly sank at the mention of Melody. She wouldn't even let him explain, if she did he would have explained that he never treated Ava as Melody's substitute, Never! So Oliver did what he was best at doing, he became the devil that everyone knew.

Oliver looked at Ava with an expressionless face and said coldly, "The game has already begun Ava, I must see the end of it as well. And if you want to live in peace, then I suggest you divorce Daniel as soon as possible and come back to me. There is no escape from it. Your marriage with him is not valid here in China anyway. Besides, you are going to do it sooner or later so why not now."

Hearing him Ava felt anger boiling inside, she balled her fist and hit his chest with rage as she shouted out, "What the hell, Oliver, why can't you just leave me alone? You don't even love me then why?"

"I don't love you? Ava, can't you even tell how sincere I am to you?" Oliver caught Ava's wrist and said angrily as his eyes looked at her wildly. How could she say that he didn't love her when he has been almost dying without her?

Ava let out a mocking laugh and said coldly, "Oliver, do you think I am stupid? You are full of lies, I don't believe a single word coming out of your filthy mouth."

How could she believe his lies again? Because of him, her heart was broken into pieces; she lost her child and went into depression. He has scarred her for life and even though her stupid heart still has feelings for him, she can't let her emotion take over and let Oliver deceive her again.

Oliver let out a mocking laugh and his eyes dimmed. As expected she doesn't believe him. He never loved anyone as much as he loved her but still, she refuses to see it. How would he make her believe? When she pretended to be dead, Oliver was hurt and scared but he wasn't angry with her, he never blamed her for leaving like this because he knew it was all his fault, so he decided to give her time, and expected they would be able to put the past behind when she was back. But now he could see clearly that Ava hasn't moved on from the past at all, she was still in the same place she had been three years ago. Looks like the time and the space didn't do anything good for them, but Oliver didn't get demotivated by it, if anything he was even more enthusiastic now to make her forget the past and let her see how much he loved her and how sorry he was for the things he has done to her.

"Ava, it doesn't matter what you believe but I would like you to prepare yourself. Since you decided to come back to China, you must come back to me. There is no other way of it." Oliver said indifferently, without any emotion in his voice.

Ava shivered but she wasn't the one to back down so she said angrily, "I'm sorry, but it's not up to you."

"Then you should spend as much time as you can with your daughter because who knows next time she disappears, you might never get to see her again." Oliver again said indifferently.
