"CEO Sherman, the bidding for the land will be held openly next week. So far only Knight International has the possibility to beat us. Mr. Knight is personally handling the bidding so no one knows how what price they will offer." Daniel's assistant, Jason handed the black confidential file to Daniel.

"What's the market price?" Daniel's eyes were locked on the file as he was reading the details.

"Two hundred and eighty million."

The land that Daniel and Oliver were bidding on was a beautiful land where a resort could be developed, as it was around colorful lakes and rivers in Jiuzhaigou valley. One side of the land was full of mountains and waterfalls whereas the other side consist of lakes. It was a beautiful scene. People will get the treat of both sights and enjoy mountains and water at the same time. Although the place was far from the city but because of the scenery the price of the land was very high.

"We need to increase the price. If we get this land and are able to build a resort on it, it will be a very profitable project for us." Daniel picked up his golden pen and marked some numbers and then wrote his own offer.

Jason took a look at the file and his eyes widened in shock, 400 million! "But CEO Sherman, that's too high price and beyond our financial plan." Jason swallowed hard the whole statics team has evaluated the land price and the development of the whole project. They should not offer more than 350 million but Daniel wants to bid 400 Million there is a high risk if they offered that price. It's just the land price afterward there were huge expenses around two million developing the project. It's a huge investment as well as a very risky project.

"Well, since we are up against Knight international we have to take the risk. I am sure the CEO of Knight International will not bid more than that. So we will surely win the bidding." Daniel narrowed his eyes and looked at the distance and said thoughtfully.

Jason looked at Daniel and asked hesitantly, "Mr. Sherman, do you want to win the land or win against Oliver knight?"

Daniel smiled and said lightly, "I want it all."

Jason didn't say anything else. He has been Daniel's assistant since he started the A&D group. He has seen the company expand little by little under Daniel's leadership so he wouldn't question his judgment. He bowed his head took the file from Daniel and turned to leave the room. He needed to prepare for the bidding now that Daniel has made up his mind about the offer.

"And Jason, fix a meeting with the owner of the land. I would like to meet him in person. And I want every detail about this man and his family before the meeting."

"Yes sir." Jason left the room.

Daniel stood up and walked toward the window and looked outside. Oliver Knight, prepare yourself, I am about to make you lose everything. You have been beating me for years but it's my turn to beat you. I have already taken Ava from you now you will lose in business too. I have been waiting for such an opportunity for a long time. It was July, the hot sun was up shining in the sky. A red Mazda MX-5 stopped in front of Knight International and Erika jumped out of the car wearing a tight-fitting short sleeveless dress. Half of her face was covered by her sunglass. She clicked her high heels and elegantly walked toward Oliver's office.

Oliver was sitting behind his desk and signing some important documents when Erika burst into Oliver's office without even knocking. Oliver raised his head and saw Erika at the door. He frowned seeing Erika in so little clothes. Although Oliver lived in a modern world but he didn't like it when women dressed in tiny clothes especially women those he was protective of.

"Erika, why are you dressed like that? You are not a child anymore, you're married, you should wear decent clothes. How did Arvin let you out of the house in that dress?" Oliver almost scolded Erika.

"Brother, what era do you live in? This is the new Dior summer collection. Besides I am a superstar people expect me to wear this kind of dress." Erika said rolling her eyes as she sat down on the couch. She was used to the attitude of her overbearing brother.

"You know you should stop paying attention to entertainment and start thinking about your home. Orion is almost four when are you going to give him a little brother or sister?"

Erika almost choked by Oliver's words and said quickly, "Children! Brother, I am still young what's the hurry, we will have one when I am ready." Erika has been trying to avoid this topic whenever it was raised by her family or Arvin's. Honestly, she was terrified at the thought of having children.

"What are you talking about Erika, you are 27 years old. And how can you be so selfish? Have you ever thought that your in-law's maybe waiting for you to give them a grandchild? And what about your husband? Don't you care about his feelings at all?" Oliver said looking at Erika feeling disappointed in her.

Erika fell silent. She knew Oliver wasn't trying to make her feel bad he was stating what no one would ever dare to say to her, not even her husband. She knew as well she was being selfish by not considering others' feelings regarding this matter but she really couldn't think of having a child. She was really afraid, especially after what happened to Ava, Erika felt she could never go through something like that. She couldn't even bring herself to say it out loud so she said what any mean, arrogant and proud girl will say. "Brother please, I am an actress, I need to look after myself. I cannot have a baby and ruin my figure. Besides I am not a baby-making machine.
