Lies

Ava calmed herself down and looked at her phone, seeing it was Daniel, she took a step back from Oliver and picked up the call. However, Oliver didn't let go of her hand.

"Ava, where are you?" Daniel asked gently but his face was as hard as a rock when he looked straight at the couple who were standing not far away from where his car was parked.

"Um.. in front of my house, just taking a walk. Why, do you need something Danny?" Ava said hesitating as she glanced at Oliver and looked away. Every time she was with Oliver she would feel guilty in her heart.

"Are you alone?" Daniel asked still looking at them.

"Um.. no I am with Sarah. What's wrong Daniel?" Ava said biting her lips. She didn't like to lie to Daniel but she couldn't tell she was with Oliver, that will only complicate things further, especially after the movie incident.

That's what Ava's problem was, to run away from any complications she would lie, she always thought, these white lies wouldn't hurt anyone since she is not deceiving anyone but she never knew, to men like Oliver and daniel these are no less than deception.

Daniel's face instantly changed, she was lying again. Why? First, she hid the fact that she was teaching Orion Piano and went to Oliver's house every week, then she went to watch a movie with Oliver and his son. And now she was lying again saying she was with Sarah when she was actually standing there with Oliver. Why Ava why do you keep lying to me like that? Is there something going on between them? Daniel got out of the car and walked toward them and said in a voice that was void of any emotion, "Is it? Ava, turn around."

Ava turned around immediately and saw Daniel standing there holding the phone in his hand staring at her. The look of disappointment and hurt in his eyes were so intense that made Ava feel suffocated. She was aware things were getting more complicated between them, every time she lied or hid anything from Daniel but she just wanted to avoid misunderstandings and also didn't want to worry Daniel when there was really nothing going on, but she never intended to hurt him. Ava closed her eyes feeling despair.

Oliver stood there with a smirk on his cold face, in fact, he has noticed Daniel's car a long time ago and that's why he was intentionally trying to get close to Ava. He wanted to piss him off more.

Daniel looked at Oliver's hand that was still holding Ava, he said angrily, "Oliver, Why are you bothering my wife?"

"Please think before you say something, Mr. Daniel Sherman, how can you call someone else's wife as yours? I haven't divorced Ava yet so she is still my wife!" Oliver said coldly in a mocking tone.

"She doesn't love you anymore. Your marriage with her ended three years ago." Daniel said clenching his fist, he was furious.

Oliver sneered and said coldly, "Well, this is my marriage to her, it won't end just because you said it. Who are you anyway to come between us." Oliver was angry too, if Daniel didn't help Ava 3 years ago and if he didn't come between them would they be separated? He would have told her about Orion and she would have eventually forgiven him. They would be living like a happy family only if Daniel didn't interfere. Oliver wanted to beat him to death for that.

The two men kept shouting at each other in front of Ava's parent's house, she couldn't take it anymore. She was afraid they will end up in a fight soon if she didn't stop them now. So she held up her hand and said coldly, "Enough, both of you. Stop arguing."

The two men who were about to explode from anger stopped and looked at Ava at the same time. Ava took a deep breath and looked at Daniel, "Daniel, why did you come here tonight? How did you know I was here?" Ava stared at Daniel coldly. When Daniel was arguing with Oliver Ava suddenly realized she never told him where she was, which could only mean, either he followed her or he tracked her down somehow. She felt hurt at the thought that Daniel didn't trust her.
