Ava was pacing in the hall anxiously and looking at the police bringing out criminals and drunkards one after another. She was really worried about Sarah. She didn't know what condition she was in at the moment, Sarah has never gone through hardship in her life since she moved with them. And Ava couldn't imagine how lost she must be right feeling now in a prison cell all alone, surrounded by criminals.
Ava couldn't understand why Sarah had a bag full of drugs with her. She must have been framed but by who? Ava suddenly remembered Sarah was out with Amy. Was it possible that Amy did that to her? But why would she do that, aren't they best friends? Then, was Amy trying to sell drugs and Sarah was caught in the middle. Ava thought that could be the only possibility, knowing her sister she must be oblivious to Amy's character even though she tried to tell her. She quickly took out her phone and called Amy, but her phone was switched off. Ava was now more suspicious, she was sure Amy must have done this on purpose, she was the one who gave Sarah the bag to frame her and now switched off her phone so no one can reach her. Ava thought she should share this possibility with Daniel in case that will help them with the case find the real culprit but the moment she saw Daniel coming out with a defeated look on his face, Ava's heart instantly sank.
"Daniel, what's going on? Are they letting Sarah out?"
"Ava, it's not that simple. It's a drug case and they have evidence so they will be pressing charges. I am afraid Sarah will have to stay here for now. "Daniel explained everything and saw Ava's face turn white with the passing minute, he took her in his arm and tried to comfort her, "I am sorry Ava, go home. I'll stay here and try to see if there is any loophole I can find but we need to find a lawyer tomorrow." Daniel said in a beaten voice. He knew at this point they could do nothing and it won't help even if he stayed here but for Ava's peace of mind, he decided to stay here overnight and find a lawyer tomorrow.
Ava stayed frozen in Daniel's arms for a while before she said, "OK. You should go inside." Daniel hesitated and went inside thinking Ava must be very worried about Sarah.
However Ava didn't leave the station, she came out and stood there in front of the police station for an hour thinking about all the possible ways to get Sarah out of this mess. In the end, she could only think of one man who was capable of getting Sarah out of the prison. However, she was well aware of the cost she will have to pay if she wants him to help her.
Ava stood there holding the phone and staring at the familiar number before she mustered up the courage to call him. The phone rang a few times before his cold voice came from the other end. Ava's heart started to race but she couldn't speak, she just held the phone trying hard to swallow the lump that was forming in her throat. How she was going to ask for his help when she arrogantly fought with him just last night? Ava took a few deep breaths to calm her nerves but she still couldn't form any words.
On the other end, Oliver was sleeping peacefully holding Orion when his phone start to ring, it was a familiar ringtone that woke Oliver up instantly. Oliver looked at the wall clock and saw it was 11 pm. Why was she calling him at this hour? Was she missing him? Or did she finally make a decision, however, he didn't dare to have any high hopes. He muted the call, afraid Orion will wake up from the noise of the ringtone, and went to the balcony to receive the call.
"Hello!"
Oliver waited for a few seconds, but there was only silence. His patience ran out and he said coldly, "If you are not going to talk then I'll just hang up."
Ava was afraid he will hang up she said in a hurry, "No, no Oliver please don't hang up."
Oliver was taken aback by Ava's sudden desperate voice. He instantly knew something was wrong but he stayed calm and asked indifferently, "What do you want at this hour?"
"Oliver, I need your help. Sarah got arrested by police for carrying drugs. They say, they will press charges against her for selling drugs. Oliver you know Sarah, she can never do anything like that, she must have been framed. Please help me to get her out of this trouble." Ava closed her eyes and begged as tears streamed down her eyes.
Oliver stayed silent for a while then with a sneer he asked arrogantly, "Why should I help you, who are you to me? And what's in it for me, Ava? When have you become so selfish Ava, at night you ask for my help, and in the daytime, you declare your love for another man in front of the whole city." Oliver didn't even try to sugarcoat his words, only god knows how much it hurt him every time she went back to Daniel and left him alone.
Ava fell silent, she was ashamed because what Oliver said was true when she needed help she could only come to him. She knew she would have to pay a price if she wanted his help but was she willing to sacrifice her life, her freedom? Ava felt sourness in her nose as two more strings of tears fell down her cheek. She wiped the tears harshly and said in a shaken voice, "If you get her out, I'll do what you want. I'll divorce him and come back to you."
Oliver half expected Ava to get angry at him and hang up but when he heard her say those words, he closed his eyes as relief washed over him. She finally agreed, no matter how twisted the reason was, she finally agreed to come back. "When?" Oliver's voice was still cold.
"You get her out tonight, I'll go to the US tomorrow and settle the divorce with him as soon as possible." This time Ava's voice didn't shake but she felt really defeated.
"Very well Ava, remember what you just promised. If you go back to your word you won't be able to even speculate the consequences. Wait there and I'll get Sarah out in half an hour." Oliver hung up and dialed Uncle Joe's number immediately,
"Uncle Joe Sarah has been arrested tonight, meet the police commissioner and arrange her release within half an hour. Find evidence to prove her innocence, I don't want anyone to raise questions about this in the future." Oliver instructed and hung up.
Uncle Joe pursed his lips. It's 11 o clock how he was going to find evidence in half an hour? He sighed and shook his head helplessly then got out of bed. Looks like he is not going to have any sleep tonight.
Oliver stayed on the balcony and looked at the dark night with hopeful eyes, the cold wind brushed past him making him shiver but he didn't care. He was too happy to care about anything else at the moment, his Ava was coming home. He smiled and went back to his bedroom happily.
Orion was sleeping in the bed without the care of the world. He sat there at the edge of the bed and run his finger through Orion's hair, then said in a low voice that was full of emotion, "Orion, Dad has fulfilled his promised, Mommy is coming back home to us."
