Oliver's words were enough to assure Ava that he will get Sarah out. She felt relief but at the same time, she also felt sadness. Ava found a bench outside the police station and sat there quietly looking at the dark sky. Tonight there was no moon in the sky so it was completely peach-black, just like how she was feeling right now. So dark that she could not see any light, any hope. What was the point of running when she had to end up the same way with the same man?
Ava sat there thinking about all the things that happened over the years, how she met Oliver, how they fell in love, then got married. She had some good memories before the accident happened and then she ran away from him now she will have to go back to him again, it's like she was running in a circle, going back to where it all started. Maybe it was for the best, after all, she knew she could never love Daniel. Her heart still beats only for Oliver. No matter how much she hates him she will always love him a bit more. Daniel also deserves to be happy, by staying with him she will only hold him back and ruin his chance to have true happiness.
"Ava! Why are you still here?" Daniel's voice bought Ava to reality and when she looked up she saw Daniel standing there and Sarah was behind him. Ava jumped out from the bench and ran to take Sarah into her arm. Both of them hugged each other and cried. Oliver stayed true to his promise and got Sarah out in half an hour, now it was her turn to fulfill her promise. However right now she didn't want to think about it, right now what matters was Sarah.
"Silly girl, how are you? They were not being hard on you, were they?"
"No, sister. I am alright." Sarah said hugging more tightly as if she was holding on to dear life. It was clear how scared she was.
"It's ok, stop crying. It's over now." Ava said as she wiped the tears from Sarah's eyes and cheeks.
"Yes, Sarah it's over. They said they found evidence that you were framed so they had to let you go." Daniel said with a smile. But he was actually very confused because half an hour ago Carl and Officer Li both said it was a clean case and they have evidence against Sarah. But suddenly Carl received a call from the commissioner saying he has already received the evidence of Sarah being framed and ordered him to let go of Sarah immediately. Carl couldn't get any more information either but Daniel was sure someone has interfered with the case. But who and why?
Daniel led the two women toward his car and took them home. He was exhausted by the stress. He just wanted to go home. Ava sat at the back still holding Sarah tightly who kept weeping silently. Ava could understand it was a huge mental trauma for Sarah because of her parent's history. This was the precise reason Ava couldn't let her stay at the station and asked for Oliver's help.
They stayed quiet the whole ride even though Ava was dying to ask her what exactly happened but she also wanted Sarah to calm down first. Sarah has been interrogated by the police the whole evening, she might not be ready to talk at the moment so Ava decided to talk to her when they were home. When they came home Ava helped Sarah out of the car and took her directly to the guest room. She has questions, a lot of questions.
Daniel didn't mind he parked the car and went back to his own room. He knew they would like to talk to each other right now and didn't want to interfere.
Ava sent Sarah to take and bath and she also did the same. After her bath, she warmed up some milk and brought it for Sarah. When she entered the room she saw Sarah was looking at her phone in a daze.
"Sarah, who are you calling?" Ava asked calmly.
Sarah hesitated then said in low voice, "Sister, I was trying to call Amy but her phone is switched off."
"Sarah what exactly happened tonight, tell me everything. And when I say everything I want to know every detail." Ava said in a stern voice. She needed to know she chose to give up her life and freedom for the right reason.
