The knot

Oliver's Villa,

It was around 6 am when Oliver woke up, he saw the sun was already up in the sky. He was still holding Ava when Orion also woke up. Afraid that he will wake Ava up Oliver put his finger to his lips to show not to make any sound. He then picked up Orion and took him to the guest room to get him freshened up and ready for school.

"Dad, why didn't you wake mom up?" Orion asked as he started to brush his teeth.

"Mom was very tired last night. Let her sleep for a little while."

"I am also very tired then why can't I sleep as well?" Orion looked at Oliver and said with a pout.

Oliver pursed his lips and said with a straight face "You can't! Don't you have chess class in the morning?"

Orion rolled his lips and said dejectedly, "Yes!"

Although Orion was still very young, he was capable of doing things himself. Oliver has taught him that way so that he wouldn't have to depend on anyone for small things like brushing his teeth, getting ready, and having breakfast on his own. By the time Orion finished his breakfast the doorbell rang and Uncle Joe stood there. He was there to send Orion to school and later drop him to Knight's mansion.

"Little Master Orion, are you ready?" Uncle Joe smiled slightly and held the door open for Orion.

Orion looked at Oliver and reluctantly walked toward the door, "Yes Grandpa Joe! Goodbye, Dad."

"Goodbye, Grandpa Joe will take you to grandma's house after school. I will come to see you in the evening with Mom, ok!"

Orion nodded his head and got into the car even though he was very reluctant to leave his mother after just acknowledging her, but he also knew his father won't let him skip classes. Besides, he has chess class today and he really loved to play chess so he didn't really argue with his father.

Oliver watched Orion leave in Uncle Joe's car from the doorway then came back inside.

In the bedroom, Ava woke up and subconsciously reached out for Orion even before she opened her eyes. But when she found the place empty she panicked and sat up. She was in the middle of the bed and she could see both sides of the bed were a little cold so she knew Oliver and Orion both woke up a while back. Ava checked the time on the wall clock and realized it was after 7 am. Orion must have already left for school, she wondered if Oliver has also left for Office. She lay down on the bed again when she heard someone open the door, she quickly closed her eyes and lay there stiffly.

Oliver came to Ava and lay down behind her holding her in his arm. He wanted to sleep with her for a while but the moment he held her, Oliver felt Ava's stiff body and realized she has already woken up. He started to place soft kisses on her neck and shoulder and he turned her to face him then he asked in a low voice, "Awake?"

Ava bit her lips nervously and opened her eyes. Her heart started to pound in her chest as she felt Oliver's toned body on top of her. Ava hasn't been in contact with any other man all these years so she was really nervous about the possibility of having sex with him again. Although after she came back they did encounter intimate moments a few times, but she always felt it wrong because she was still married to Daniel. However, it's different now, she was Oliver's wife again and she couldn't really stop him if he wanted to have sex with her now. Then again, what was stopping her was her heart which still has a knot inside, she still didn't forget what happened three years ago, Kiara, Emily, and Melody all those unclear relationships and without clearing things out with Oliver first she didn't know if she could start over wholeheartedly.

Ava looked away from the handsome face in front of her and asked lightly, "Yeah, where is Orion? Why didn't you wake me up? I could help him get ready."

Oliver smiled and thought both mother and son thought of each other the first thing in the morning, maybe that's why it's called a mother's love, even though they just met and didn't know each other very well they still love each other unconditionally. "He went to school and after school, he is going to Mom and Dad's for a week. He says he missed them and couldn't wait to tell them about you." Oliver said in a serious tone completely turning the truth. If she found out he forced him to go to the Knight's mansion, she will definitely bring him back and his own son will stand between them like a third wheel. He wanted to reconcile with Ava before bringing his son back.

Ava was surprised she looked up, and asked, "A Week? Why?"

"Why? Missing him already?" Oliver asked with a smile.

"Well isn't it obvious, I mean I just found out he is my son."

"Well, I'll take you to see him in the evening if you miss him so much, but he is coming back after a week, so Mrs. Oliver Knight, we have a week just to ourselves," Oliver smirked and rolled over so he could be on top of Ava. Then he started to kiss her softly.

Ava's face instantly turned red, she knew where this was heading, she quickly pushed him and said, "Don't you have work today?"

Oliver paused and looked at Ava, he could easily see that she was still hesitant to let him be close to her. But why? Wasn't losing her child making her hate him at that time but now that the child was alive and well why does she still want to run away? He searched for her face and then said lightly, "It's still early. Ava, we are husband and wife why are you still hesitant toward me? Do you hate me that much?"

Ava lowered her eyes, she felt guilty but decided to be truthful, "It's not that Oliver, I don't hate you. But you cannot expect me to forget everything and live like we used to three years ago. It's not really fair, you know. I'll forever be grateful to you for saving Orion and raising him so well, but Oliver I don't know if I can reconcile with you right away. We have so many unclear things from the past, I can't just get passed them, I am sorry."

Now that Ava finally opened up, Oliver was happy he looked at her and said sincerely, "Ava baby, trust me I have never wronged you in any way. But if you still don't believe me I am willing to answer anything you want to know about the past. I also feel like we need to clear things out so you can have some peace. But baby please don't push me away. These years without you have been pure torture. I don't think I can go on without you more than a day again." Oliver put his head on Ava's chest and lay there quietly. He wanted to tell her everything after the accident but at that time AVa refused to even hear him so he kept quiet. now he also wanted to clear all the misunderstanding between them.
