Misunderstanding about the call

Hope charity foundation.

Ava just stepped into the foundation when her phone started to ring. She took it out of her bag and saw it was Molly. Ava smiled what a coincidence, she was just thinking of calling her to tell her that she is leaving the foundation also she needed to tell her about everything that happened within these few days so Ava quickly picked it up, "Hey, Molly I was just gonna call you now."

"Why Ava? So that you can tell me how you and Mr. Knight got back together while Danny was suffering at the hospital?" Molly said angrily. She knew she shouldn't talk like this to Ava, after all, it was obvious that Ava will eventually go back to Oliver knight. But how could she not tell her anything and more importantly how could she leave daniel to die like this? It's been 3 days and she didn't even bother to check on Daniel this whole time. The least Ava could have done was to let her know so she could go to daniel to comfort him when he needed someone, then he wouldn't have drunk himself to death. She never thought Ava could be this cruel to anyone, more importantly to Daniel who has given up everything for her. If someone loved her like that she would do anything for him.

Ava was dumbfounded, "Molly, what are you talking about? Did you just say Danny is in the hospital? Why what happened?" Ava's first instinct was to run to the hospital and check on Daniel. She didn't care how rudely Molly was talking to her.

Molly laughed out and said mockingly, "Well you would know if you picked up the phone instead of ignoring the call from Jason and later turning it off. And, yes Danny is in the hospital. Bad news for you though, he didn't die yet, although he tried his best. He drowned himself in alcohol until his stomach started to bleed and doctors had to perform a laparoscopy to stop the bleeding. Happy now Miss Green or should I call you Mrs. Knight?"

"Molly, stop talking nonsense, I understand you care about Danny and that's why you are upset but that doesn't give you the right to talk nonsense. I never got any call from Jason. Why wouldn't I pick up if I had? Whether I am with Danny or not I do care about him, Molly." Ava said feeling very annoyed. She didn't like it when people blamed her for no reason and she was even more annoyed that Molly was making assumptions without even asking her anything.

"I am not talking nonsense Ava, why don't you ask Jason whether he called you last night or not? Anyway, I just called you to inform you that I am here for Danny from now on, so you don't have to worry about him anymore. You can live happily with Mr. Knight and enjoy your life." Molly hung up without giving Ava any chance to talk or ask anything else.

Ava frowned feeling even more annoyed now. she went through her contact list and dialed Jason's number, his phone kept ringing for a long time but he didn't pick up. Ava was so worried she started pacing back and forth in her office. After 3rd time of trying Jason finally answered the call groggily. "Miss Ava!"

Ava realized he was probably sleeping at home but she didn't care she was too anxious for Daniel. "Jason, how is Danny? Which hospital he is in?"

Jason kept quiet for a while debating to himself whether he should tell her. Molly and Daniel both told him not to call Ava and tell her anything but after a while, he decided to tell her. "Miss Ava he is out of danger now but I think it's best if you don't go to see him. He is still grieving and seeing you right now won't do any good to him. Since you two decided to split up, you should just let him go. Besides Miss Molly has been doing a good job looking after him. Let them be" Jason didn't know if he was crossing the line by telling her all this but he couldn't see Daniel suffer anymore, and now that Miss Molly is there for him, Ava should let him be.

Ava's face instantly fall, why everyone thinks she is at fault here when she didn't even know anything about Daniel? What did she do wrong? "Alright! As long as he is doing good, that's all that matters. But Jason, Molly called me and told me that you called last night. But I didn't receive any of your calls." Ava asked a bit confused.

"Yes, Miss Green. I called you after I got him to the hospital around 11 o'clock. He was in a very serious condition and was calling out for you but after two rings the call got rejected, and later on, I tried many times but your phone was switched off."

Ava's heart clenched as two strings of tears fell from her eyes when she heard Daniel was in critical condition and calling out for her. She felt so helpless at that moment, whenever she never someone he was always there but last night when he needed her she couldn't be even there for him, how useless! No matter how much she tried she would always end up hurting the person who mattered to her most. Maybe what Jason said was right she should stay away from Daniel and let Molly take care of him after all she has been in love with him for a long time. "OK, thank you, Jason." Ava didn't say anything else she hung up and called out for her assistant to sort out everything.
