Clearing out Ava's name

Oliver stood in front of the crowd and raised his hand to stop the questioning. The reporters didn't want to but no one dared to oppose Oliver so soon the hall fell silent.

Oliver said in his deep and commanding voice, "Thank you everyone for coming here today. I would like to clear some things out first and then make an announcement; afterward, you can ask your questions."

Oliver paused and looked at the reporters then started again, "First of all, the accusations made about the character of my wife Ava Knight are absolutely false. She never cheated on me or had any kind of relationship with other men. It's true Jacob Adam was her boyfriend but she broke up with him because he cheated on her and framed my father-in-law for the fraudulence that he committed. You can easily dig up that news if you need evidence. Ava and I met shortly after she broke up when she was treating my uncle at the city hospital, so there is no way of her cheating on Jacob. About Samuel Even, they are childhood friends and she sees him as her brother and a friend nothing else, you can ask anyone who knows them closely will confirm it." Oliver already took care of the pictures of Ava and Samuel and the press didn't know anything about its existence so he didn't bother to explain more.

"As far as it's about Daniel and her relationship, it's true that they did get married but it's not because she is power hungry or has bad character. Actually it's because she didn't know she was married. You all know, Ava had an accident three years ago, unfortunately, she fell off the cliff and lost her memory. I tried to look for her but couldn't find her. Daniel accidentally came across her but she had already lost her memory and couldn't even recognize him, he took her to the US so she could recover. Later Ava decided to adopt an orphan child, but according to US family law and regulation adopting a child as a single woman is more complicated so she and Daniel had no other choice but to get married, however, they have always been just nominal husband and wife.

The doctors warned Daniel not to force her to remember anything or else she might lose her mind. So he had to look after her while he studied and started his business. I'll forever be grateful to him for what he did for my wife. Recently I found a clue about Ava so I went to look for her in the US, and that's when I found out she has lost her memory. I convinced them to come back because I thought coming back here and meeting her friends and family will stimulate her memory and she might have them back. And I was right a few days back she finally found her memory back and when she remembered everything she immediately decided to divorce Daniel. As we never really got divorced so legally Ava Knight is still my wife and we are back together." Oliver very wisely touched on every topic that raised questions about Ava and cleared her name. He even thanked Daniel, showing everyone that, he had a good relationship with him.

Everyone was astonished by the story as it sounded like a soap opera with lots of twists and turns, they wanted to ask questions but Oliver continued.

"Now the announcement I was talking about is that my son Orion Knight is actually our, I mean Me, and Ava's child, here is the DNA report to prove that. If anyone still has any doubt they can check it for themselves, we would be happy to cooperate." Oliver finished making everyone dumbfounded with this last piece of news. They haven't even recovered from all story about Ava's memory loss now Oliver dropped another bomb that Orion was his and Ava's own child the hall was once again in uproar.

"Mr. Knight, why didn't you reveal that Orion Knight was your and Mrs. Knight's son before?" One of the reporters asked.

"It's because I wanted to reveal our son's identity together, but back then Orion was in critical condition and Ava was also in very bad shape, so I had to hide it. I was waiting for her to come back." Oliver said truthfully and held Ava close to him. He didn't like to reveal so many personal details but it was necessary.

"Mr. Knight you said you brought Mrs. Knight back so she could recover her memory, weren't you afraid she would lose her mind instead?"

"I wouldn't let her. I love her too much to lose her." Oliver said the last part looking directly at Ava's eyes with so much love in his eyes.

All the reporters cheered at Oliver's declaration of love so openly. The male reporters threw an admirable look at Oliver while the female reporters looked dreamily at the couple.

Ava's breath hitched as she stared back at him. She never thought Oliver would say something like that. A pink tinted her rosy cheeks.

"What about you Mrs. Knight do you love Mr. Knight as much as he loves you?" One of the reporters asked.

The question brought Ava back as she blinked and looked at the reporters, and said without hesitation, "Yes! I never thought I could love someone as much as I love him. It was never love at first sight but instead, our love grew gradually, little by little each day. Maybe it was because of our love, that we found each other again." Ava told the truth about how she felt about Oliver. She still has hesitation about Oliver in her heart but one thing she was sure that she did love him more than anyone.

Oliver looked at Ava lovingly and smiled gently as his hold on her got a little tighter.

"So Mrs. Knight, is your memory fully back now?"

"Yes, it's recovered," Ava said calmly nodding her head. She didn't even flinch when she lied so smoothly. Although she didn't like to deceive people like this but what could she do at this point other than lie to everyone? Her and Knight family's reputation was at stake along with her son's future.

"Thank you, everyone, I think that's all for today, however, I would like to convey one message to the people who dared to smear my wife's reputation by putting that fake video on the internet, that you should be ready because I am coming after you, the moment I find who you are, I'll make sure you are put behind the bar. Thank you again." Oliver said coldly as he looked at her camera with deadly eyes. The people who knew him would definitely understand the lethal threat in his words.

Oliver held Ava and walked out of the room confidently. The press conference went down smoothly as Oliver expected so both Ava and he were relieved.

The reporters, however, weren't satisfied, they wanted to ask more questions but Oliver didn't give them any chance and dismissed them, still whatever they got was huge and their magazine and newspaper sales will boost with all the information so they were happy.
