Molly's confession

In the hospital.

Molly was sitting beside Daniel when her phone started to ring. Seeing it was from the foundation she walked out of the room and picked it up. The legal team has finalized all the documents about Ava's resignation and share transfer. Apparently, half an hour ago, Ava signed all the documents and handed over her responsibilities. She has transferred her shares of the Foundation and A&D to Daniel and Nina. Molly felt complicated in her heart. Ava was her friend and she should be happy for her that she was back with Oliver but the way she left things with Daniel was making her very angry. No one knew but she has been in love with Daniel for a long time. However, Daniel never saw her as anything but a friend, he only had eyes for Ava.

Molly turned and went back to the room. Daniel was sleeping in the bed looking very weak and tired, her heart ached for him. Why couldn't he see that Ava and Oliver were made for each other. Why can't he let her go? If he could only see how much she cared about him! She was lost in thought when her phone pang with a notification. She looked down and was about to ignore the notification seeing it was entertainment news but instead accidentally clicked on the news. However the moment she saw the title she instantly clicked on the video.

Molly's blood started to boil from anger seeing the content of the video. How despicable! Who would do such a thing? She was about to call Jason to investigate but suddenly saw the link break. She refreshed the page and saw that the news has completely disappeared from the internet. Molly felt relieved and realized it must be Oliver's doing, after all, Ava was involved. Good thing Daniel didn't see the video, knowing him if he saw how Ava was criticized and called names, he would wreak havoc. Molly sighed heavily and closed her eyes.

"Molly…is everything OK?" Daniel opened his eyes looking very tired as he asked in a low voice. He heard her sigh and wondered if something happened.

Molly opened her eyes and looked at him surprised, "Hey, you are awake. Do you want some Water?"

"Yes please." Daniel felt his throat was very dry, it hurt him even to talk.

Molly quickly poured him some warm water and helped him to drink it with a straw.

Daniel drank the water and felt much better. He looked around and asked, "Where is Jason?"

"I sent him to rest in the morning, he was up all night! He will go to the company in the afternoon to handle urgent matters."

Daniel moved the bed sheet that was covering him and tried to get up. Molly instantly held him and asked in a panic, "Danny, what do you think you are doing?"

"I'm fine, Molly. I need to go to the company. Nina is also home alone." Daniel forced a smile but his face twisted as he felt pain in his abdomen.

"Are you crazy? Do you know you have just gone through a laparoscopy last night? Are you trying to kill yourself for her Danny? Do you think that will bring her back?" Molly couldn't hold back, she shouted out. She felt frustrated at Daniel's negligence toward his own health.

Daniel was stunned, he kept silent for a while then said slowly, "I don't expect her to come back, I know she won't. I want to go home, Nina is probably scared alone at home."

"Nina is fine I have already talked to Sister Li, she is looking after her. If you want to see her I will bring her here later but the doctor said you have to stay here for at least a week to recover. And whether you like it or not, I won't have it any other way." Molly said in a tone of finality that leaves no room for arguments.

Daniel sighed and settled on the bed again. He was feeling very weak, even if he got out of the hospital he didn't think he could work or look after Nina so he didn't argue with Molly.

Molly was relieved when saw Daniel didn't argue anymore and lie down obediently. "Are you hungry? Do want me to bring you something to eat?"

"Not really," Daniel said lightly.

They fell into a comfortable silence for a while before Molly suddenly asked hesitating a bit, "I heard you got divorced from Ava?" Molly was hoping to see some strong emotion at the mention of Ava because she knew more than anyone how much Daniel loved her. But to her surprise, his face didn't even change, he looked very calm.

Daniel said lightly, "Yeah, it's over! She doesn't love me, so it's better for her to go back to Oliver. I know Oliver loves her as long as he keeps her happy that's all matter."

Molly was taken aback by Daniel's sudden statement, she couldn't help but say, "If you have already accepted it then why did you drink yourself to death?"

Daniel said sadly, "Why does it matter? No one cares whether I live or die." His mother was already dead, and the only other person he cared about the most was Ava. How much he loved her yet she couldn't love him back. So why should he live? For who?

Molly's heart clenched painfully, no one cares? Why can't he see how much she cared? When Molly opened her mouth she couldn't hide the bitterness in her words. "Danny you need to look around to see if anyone cares about you or not. The problem is, you don't see anyone but Ava." Molly lowered her head to hide the sadness in her eyes.

Daniel looked at Molly and asked with furrowed eyebrows, "What do you mean?"

Molly looked at him, her heart suddenly started to beat erratically. Should she tell him? It will either destroy what they have or he will finally be able to see her. before Molly could chickened out she said nervously, "I care about you, I never told you before but I have been in love with you for a long time."

Daniel's eyes widen when he heard Molly's confession. She is in love with him? How come he never realized it before? He recalled what she said a few minutes earlier, 'you don't see anyone but Ava', he felt bitter in his heart. "I am sorry Molly, you are really a nice girl but you know I can't forget her. It won't be fair to you. You deserve better."

"I don't want better. I just want you to give me a chance, Danny. I know I can't compete with Ava but I promise to devote myself completely to you. Will you give me that chance?" Molly asked hopefully. Now that she expressed her feeling in front of him, she wouldn't back off, she will fight for her love.
