Daniel felt helpless, he knew he couldn't promise her anything when his heart was full of another woman, so he tried to reason. "Molly giving you a chance is not the problem, the problem is I don't even know if I can ever fall in love with you or anyone else. I don't want to give you false hope and keep you from finding your true love. Don't be stubborn."
However, Molly was known to be a stubborn woman. When Ava and Danny were together she never thought she had any chance with him, so she hid her feelings and never told anyone but now that they were divorced she had a chance, and no matter what she will not give up. Molly said resolutely, "It doesn't matter. I love you and I will wait for you. No matter how long it takes for you to get over Ava. I'll wait."
Daniel didn't know what to say to that. Molly was a grown woman he could not force her to do something she didn't want to do but let her wait for him without a time limit felt wrong. Daniel looked at Molly, she was actually very beautiful. She was mixed-race, so she was tall with a nice figure and vibrant red curly hair which bought out the green color of her eyes. Her nose was not sharp but it suited her round face and make her look kind of cute. Her lips were pink and pouty, how come he never noticed before that she was so beautiful? She oozes confidence when she talks, and argues like a pro, no one can win an argument against her but she had a very good heart. However, she was not Ava, Molly was right he never really noticed anyone except for Ava. The one woman who never saw him, the only woman he could never have.
Daniel sighed. "Turn on the TV, I want to watch it."
Molly was thrilled when saw Daniel didn't insist on giving up on him, that meant she had a chance. She will make him forget Ava and accept her. Molly smiled and picked up the TV remote happily to turn on the TV. However, at that moment the news channel was broadcasting Oliver's live press conference from Knight International. Molly already knew it was about the video, she didn't want to see Daniel upset about it so she quickly changed the channel.
Nevertheless, Daniel has already caught the glimpse of the scene, where Oliver and Ava were standing in front of the camera holding hands. Daniel's face changed as he said in a rush voice, "Don't change the channel, give me the remote control."
"Danny, please don't…" Molly opened her mouth but seeing Daniel's hard look she sighed, turned the channel back, and handed the remote control to Daniel.
Daniel had no idea about the video but listening to Oliver, he understood everything. His eyes stung seeing Oliver and Ava together, the way Oliver shielded Ava from the reporter's questions and explained Ava's relationship with Jacob and Samuel, he felt even more incompetent now. He had her but he couldn't protect Ava well. Daniel clenched his fist when Oliver told about his and Ava's relationship, he even thanked him in front of the media but it felt more like Oliver was mocking him for being so useless. They made up the story about Ava's missing memory nicely, no one would blame her now for running away and marrying him.
Then came Ava's confession, stabbing Daniel's heart thousand times more painfully. He laughed bitterly and closed his eyes, yes it has always been Oliver. No matter how much he loved her, she only loved Oliver.
Molly's heart ached for him seeing him in so much pain. "Danny please, don't be upset. It would have happened eventually, you said it yourself, she doesn't love you. They love each other so why are you punishing yourself?"
Daniel didn't say anything, he just stared at the screen as Oliver declared Orion's identity in front of the whole country. It was inevitable since they got back together, it made sense for him to tell everyone now that Orion was their child. So Daniel didn't react to that.
On the side, however, Molly stared at the screen with an open mouth. What? Oliver's adopted son was actually Ava's child? The one she thought had died? No wonder Oliver was so confident to get Ava back. He is such a cunning man, he knew from the beginning if he told her about their child she would go back to him. Was that the reason they got back together? Molly looked at Daniel but when saw there was no surprise on his face, she could help but ask, "Did you know?"
"Yes!" Daniel said in a low voice.
"Then why didn't you tell her? Is that why you two got divorced?" Molly's eyes widen, she was trying to understand.
"No! Molly I don't want to talk about this, please. I want to be alone for some time if you don't mind." Daniel said in a tired voice as he rubbed his temple. There was no point in discussing Ava and Oliver and their son.
Molly was hurt when he asked her to leave like that, but she understood that he needed a moment to himself after seeing the press conference. So she stood up without any arguments and said lightly, "I am sorry I shouldn't have asked those questions. I'll get you something to eat, if you need anything call me, your phone is there at the bedside table."
Daniel felt a bit guilty for being so harsh to Molly but he needed to calm down. It's finally over, he lost her for good this time. Ava got back to Oliver and Oliver announced Orion's identity publicly. The family of three was united but what about him? He was left alone with Nina, how he was going to live without her? Could he really get over her and start a new life again with someone?
