The training I had with my subordinate was quite simple.
I would wake him at the crack of dawn. Then I would start a morning exercise to warm him up. He would then hunt his breakfast. After cultivating for three hours, I would start making him do more drills. He would always hunt his own food.
The only times I wasn't with him was to take my afternoon naps, and to run errands. Overall, I've become accustomed to this routine that has taken shape.
Today, I went to hunt for cores early in the morning. That's when I came across something truly peculiar. It was a clearing in the first that was full of mushrooms. All the mushrooms were the same, but they varied in shapes and sizes.
As I was walking into this clearing, I instinctively used D4C to jump back. It was only when I reached the ground did I notice a horrifying discovery. My right leg was completely dismembered…
I didn't even have enough time to process what happened, when I felt a huge accumulation of qi behind me. It was too close to me to counterattack, so I had to use D4C to throw me up into the air.
I immediately took out a blanket and placed it behind me, while I was in the air. I saw the mushrooms shoot at me like a bullet! This would've been fine, if not for the fact that they didn't aim for me. They aimed for the blanket behind me!
The moment the mushrooms touched the blanket, it turned into multiple mushrooms until it broke apart. I was vulnerable, severely bleeding, and the enemy knew about my stand ability!
Change pov:
Valentine was up in the air, and the mushrooms were already trying to shoot at him. He took out two blankets and placed one in front of him, and the other behind him. Of course the mushrooms instantly shot through the first ones, and the others aimed to destroy the blanket behind Valentine.
While they pierced the blanket behind him, Valentine flipped around as he was falling to his inevitable demise. Had he given up and decided to break his neck for a quick death? Instead he used the blood from his leg to fall on him as he hit the ground!
'I managed to escape.', thought Valentine.
'No! I have to beat this opponent! They know too much about my ability. They will surely attack me when my guard is down again.', Valentine thought.
He knew that he couldn't let his opponent live. If he killed Johnny from the start he wouldn't be in this situation. Instead he decided to wait until the opponent appeared. He had already switched with the new valentine.
No matter how much he waited the opponent wouldn't come out. He soon realized that the only true way to beat his opponent was to lure him out. But how would he do that without getting killed?
He knew his opponent was planning for his return, so how would he be able to counter him? That's when it hit him. The opponent didn't know he could use liquid as a surface! His opponent was only basing things off of the things he's done in this world. This means that he didn't know the full set of Valentine's full abilities!
He returned in between all the mushrooms. He decided to test a theory of him. He didn't know if it would work, but it was worth a try. He tried to push all the qi he had into D4C. Would it be powered up because of the qi?
The mushrooms instantly striked, and it worked as easy as stealing candy from a baby. D4C managed to strike all of the mushrooms down. Valentine was confident he was even able to overcome Diego's top speed!
He felt the accumulation of qi again. This time it was under him? Valentine looked down and saw a few mushrooms joining together, before they turned into a fist. This fist instantly launched an attack on him infused with qi.
As the fist flew towards him, it seemed like all the mushrooms were following its lead. They were all coming to attack Valentine from under him!
He used D4C to launch himself backwards and towards the ground. It seems like Valentine was going to use the mushroom still on the ground, as a surface for him to use D4C. Unfortunately, for him it seems like the mushrooms had a mind of their own.
All the mushrooms moved out of Valentine's falling form. He was about to take another blanket out of his ring, but his arm was cut off by the multiple mushrooms attacking him.
"Shit!", cursed Valentine. D4C couldn't keep now that it only had one arm, so he did his best to protect only his vitals. The mushrooms wouldn't stop their bombardment though.
His flesh was completely ripped apart and severely bruised. He held in his screams of anguish as his limbs were torn and maimed. All that was left from him was his leg and torso. He was barely alive.
All of the mushrooms then started to pile onto each other, until they became a person, specifically a woman.
"It looks like the target has been neutralized", the woman muttered under her breath.
"Too bad such a handsome man had to die, but you were a threat for the Fungus faction., she said feigning empathy.
"Is that... so?", said the living corpse of Valentine.
She decided to just finish the job. She was the type of person who never wanted to leave a job without seeing that the target is personally dead. It's a habit that most killers had some paranoia with.
She sat on him and delivered the final blow to his head. Her arm was straight through Valentine's skull. Funny Valentine was dead.
"Dojyaaan!", was what the assassin had heard. What terrified her was that it sounded exactly like Valentine's voice! The man who she was ordered to kill, was speaking from underneath his own corpse!
"What?!?! But h-how?! I killed you!", she said with certainty. She knew what had happened, but she could accept the fact. Was this target an actual immortal?!
From underneath the corpse jumped out another Valentine! She fell backwards as she ripped her arm out of the "Valentine's" skull.
She was planning on becoming a mushroom again, but this soon proved to be a mistake as Valentine used the blood from his skull to use D4C as she was falling into the ground!
She knew what his ability was. She knew she didn't have a chance to live. She appeared in the same clearing, with the same mushrooms, except this time the mushrooms were aiming towards her.
She could feel herself slowly being ripped apart by the countless mushrooms of her alternate self. She heard one last thing before she died.
"Ironic isn't it? I lured you out of the safety of your mushrooms, but going back to them is what inevitably killed you."
It had been a long fight, but it was clear why Valentine had won. He had left the safety of his dimensions to fight, while she tried to go back to her mushrooms.
"After all, there's no worthy goal without sacrifice."
