After-Letter 2: Home Sweet Home

A lot of things has changed around here for the last 3 years. These houses weren't here before.

"Hey! Aki? OH MY GOD IT'S AKI!!! How are you? It's been 3 years since you and your family left."

"Yes, we are doing well. I came to visit Re... Uncle Rei"

Oops... almost slipped calling Rei casually in front of someone

"Oh is that so! Follow me, I'll guide you to where he is at"

"That's great! Thank you Olivia"

This is Olivia, she was our neighbor back then. She was our playmate and would usually stay at home before her parents come to pick her up. She eventually got close to Rei too.

"Uhhh, Olivia, where are we heading?"

"To where Mr. Rei is. Ohhh right, there has been a lot of rennovation since you left. New houses, New buildings, also the park was fixed, but sadly the government cut down some Maple trees"

Looking at it, the park really looks different, I bet Rei did protest against this as the trees were really special to him. I could imagine him hugging the trees while shouting against the workers.

*Silently Giggles*

I Better ask Olivia.

"Uhmm Olivia, did Re... Uncle Rei protest against the cutting of the trees?"

"OHHH HAHAHAHA! HE DID! And it was hilarious, he hugged the tree and the workers had to pull him off the tree. And damn he cried loud. The Mayor saw a video of him crying and decided to keep the trees that were still standing... the mayor said it was to pay respect to the people who kept the town alive in the past, and it was our families"

Heh~ Despite being old and a cry baby, he could still influence the highest official in this town. I feel so proud of him.

"We're here, Good Morning Mr. Rei. Aki has come to visit you"

"Olivia... Are you joking with me?"

"Huh? What do--"

"ARE YOU PLAYING A JOKE ON ME!!!???"
