Magic Gives Reason #11

"Nina you are so cool." Pranced Ann. She danced around me while I stared at the poor man's lifeless body. I did that....I killed a man. "Hehehe....Nina is Nina no matter what form she takes." That same voice pops up in my head. Can no one else hear it? "Who are you?" I question the voice. It became more and more apparent that I was going insane. Ann stops prancing about and hugs me. "You've become weird lately, but you're still my best friend." I felt a sudden rush of nauseating dizziness spring up my head. The villagers around us didn't move. They didn't speak either, all they did was stare. Why? Shouldn't they be angry? Riddled with fury? Just like the clerk they show no emotion. What kind of town is this? "Let's keep moving." I coldly moved on. I don't know if I had already resolved to kill innocent people or if I'm just going insane. But I feel nothing from this. Ann picked something out of the corps and continued being merry. "Please tell me it was worth it." I looked at her with rage running through my eyes. Ann stood in place and showed me what it was that she picked up. It was a rock with a smooth surface. "A rock!" I barked. I just killed a man over a ROCK! "A rock from a world said to not exist. A world which revolves around the weak. Humans." She explained and handed the rock to me. "See how the rock carries magic. It's proof that those creatures don't use magic because they're so weak." My mind snapped. I handed her the rock back and started looking for Kevin or Hamble....maybe JJ....anyone but Ann would do. "Hehe, so you're not mad anymore? this piece of hard dirt proves that our parents lied to us." Ann skipped around quietly. We walked down the main street of the town hoping to bump into anyone from our group. "Should we start looking for a carriage for easy traveling. You know with the nulls and all." Ann asked as she stopped skipping to walk beside me. "You know what I think that's the smartest thing I heard since traveling. I'll leave it up to you." If Ann got it then I wouldn't have to deal with the transactions and currency. It's killing two birds with one stone. "Okay." Ann happily went on her own path to find the perfect carriage for me and her....maybe for the rest of the group too. I walk down into a more secluded pathway. Something interesting might happen.....maybe I might find some rare item and get super lucky with getting it for free or whatever change I still have might be able to pay for it in full. "Hey pipsqueak, did you hear about the monster adventure?" Someone was talking up ahead in a narrow dark shady path. I crept up to listen. "The one that Nina Frea started? Wasn't that just a rumor to get other monsters to contribute more?" I could hear no more than two people there but, could sense four. "Turns out it's not a rumor. She was here! Nina and her friend....I think her name was Ann! Yeah that's what she called her." Oh he must be referring to the incident that occurred earlier. I still can't get over how famous Nina is. Wait a minute.....Frea? What kind of name is that? "HA! What a load of bull sh-" "It's true!" A woman spoke out. "My mother works at the clothing store and guess who payed a visit." "Noooo." They ooohed and awed. "Yes." She continued "Nina was there. Although my mom said she didn't get anything, she tried to buy out the entire store." What?! No I didn't I just don't know how the currency works here. " Does that mean you work for Nina Frea now?" "No, apparently she changed her mind and left. Quiet mysterious if you ask me." I could hear it in the girl's tone how proud she was to have such news to tell. But I didn't think that the clerk would have any children. Especially not one old enough to be in dark allies telling stories to her friends. "I say it's a load of crap. Ever since we let you join in all you've been doing is telling lies and tall tales of how there's a world filled with humans! As if such weak creatures exist. And now...and now this!" The kid sounded scared as he reached the end of his sentence. I peeked my head around the corner to see what exactly was going on. There in fact was four of them there. All with different features that makes it more and more easier to tell what type of creature they were. One had fur covering his body with ears and a tail that resembles a wolf. Looking closer at him he also had a snout. Another had just the ears and tail of a cat, and the last boy had horns and eyes colored black with white pupils. The girl was turned so I didn't get to see her face. But her arms showed that her skin color was green. Why do they think the human world is fake or make believe? I stepped out from the corner and interrupted them. "It's real." I said letting them know of my presence. The girl turns as everyone there diverts their attention to me. "Nina!" She dropped her mouth open. The boys stood up in awe, looked at the girl then back to me. For a split second I could feel their disbelief. "What did she say?" The boy with the cat ears asked. "I believe she said it was real." The wolf boy whispered back. That's when they snapped out of the reverence and began suspecting that I was not myself. Which in a sense they were right. "Now this! A make believe Nina just so you could fool us." Make believe!? "Let's show them brats just how make believe we are." The same voice from earlier crept into my head. I felt heat rise and stir in my palms. "Let it go, let it go. Kekeke." The voice commanded I was greeted by strong and powerful urges to lift my hands up and show the kids my palms. I began shaking uncontrollably. Trying to resist the urge of possibly killing the kids. "Listen to me, this puny world isn't big enough or strong enough to hold every creature to ever exist." My eyes began to hurt as my vision became green and distorted. "So I'll let you in on a little secret." I continued to talk even though I felt a heavy strain from not killing them. "I am originally from that world. Kekeke, and I would've loved to kill everyone of those puny, pathetic, masses of wasted space of a creature if it wasn't for my basic understanding about how their world works." I'm losing it. I need to release the magic but I don't think killing unnecessarily would help. I NEED TO GET AWAY FROM THEM! I hunched over and turned around walking down the path I originally started walking down. Slowly taking my time. Just trying to get better control of my body. "NO! GO BACK!" the voice screamed at me. "THEY WON'T DIE!" The voice increasingly got angrier and was urging me to go back. I don't like this feeling. It felt so stiff, suffocating me as I lose control over my body. I want to kill. I want to kill. I need to kill. Everything around me was still green and a bit blurred so it made it harder to navigate my way through the back ally. "Stop! Please! I don't want this." I heard a female whimper. I looked to my left to see a woman being cornered by two men. "Hehe, it'll be super fun deary. Don't you worry your pretty little head." It didn't take long for me to understand the situation. I sprinted over to them with crazed frenzy in my face. I went straight for the first guy by climbing up his back and blowing his brains out. I jumped off of him and hopped onto the next one. Instead of fire I wanted to see him suffer. I let water suffocate him. Watching as he fell to his knees and grasp for the slightest bit of air fascinated me to no end. He was choking on the water for quiet a bit of time. I got bored quickly and decided twisting his neck would be more to my liking. I turned to the female as I began to calm down from the blood lust. "Are you okay?" I handed out my hand to her. My vision returned to normal and I had better control of my body as time went on. The female looked pale and winded. Dressed in a plain dress that didn't help hide her figure. Even though it tried. I heard a tinkling sound and looked down only to discover that she had wet herself. Was she scared of me? I dropped my hand and walked away. I better keep this to myself. But what in the world was happening to me? I walked out of the ally and to my surprise I found Kevin and JJ with young ladies wrapped around their arms. "Nina hey...." JJ awkwardly waved. "So, while we were all looking for things for the group you guys were looking for a way to get one off...." Ah I see! This is a complete joke. There must be a better explanation....I started laughing. My intention was to lighten the mood, yet I set a different tone. The females looked pale as they realized who I was. "Is...is that Nina?" One of them asked. I wonder why everyone is so afraid of me. "So tell me what you learned." I stopped laughing to give them a serious look letting them know I wanted them to stop joking. The girls left their side using magic to help them move faster. "Sweet lumps!" JJ called out to one of them. I grew increasingly angry with them. Kevin slapped JJ and gave him the "read the room" look. "We were getting information." Kevin spoke out. "Oh do tell, what did you learn.?" They both gulped hard. "This town is one of the many towns the academy trades with and in technicalities owns." Kevin spoke up finally. "We were honestly looking for information to tell us where we were." "Yeah, turns out we're still on the campus grounds." JJ added. I looked at my surroundings thinking about how I was amazed about how the school could own a town. Honestly, that was the last thing that I remembered before passing out.
