Awakening(1)
-[Artemis's POV]-
Right after we were transported back to the hotel, I began to feel a bit uncomfortable.
Soon this turned into a very harp pain in my head.
"How are you feeling" I heard Alex ask
"I-I'm fine" I replied
He noticed something wrong and panicked "What's wrong?"
"I'm-" I felt the world turn black and I fainted.
'It hurts' My soul screamed in pain
'Save me'
'Alex'
'It hurts'
Soon this pain started to be relieved a little bit. I felt my soul relax. Slowly the pain went away and it felt warm. I felt myself being fed something. It tasted sweet and bitter at the same time. Soon, I could feel Alex's presence.
'Alex' I wanted to call to to him but I felt his soul tremble. I soon felt a pain coming from my body.
'He's in pain' I realized and tried to call for him after realizing that he is in pain
Soon everything ended and his soul was calm again. I tried to call out to him once again be he didn't respond. I was scared.
I was sitting there in worry and silence for a while before I felt myself awakening.
I opened my eyes, only to see Alex completely covered in blood with his sword besides him.
"Alex!" I cried out seeing him unconscious
My hands trembled as I touched his body that was protecting me. I felt something wet on my hands and realized that it was blood. His entire back was completely bloodied.
"ALEX!" I screamed
I saw his sword vibrating still and realized that he was still alive.
After realizing that I seemed to be stronger and have way more qi in my body I quickly tired to find some help. I do not know where we are, but it seems like we have entered a desert somewhere.
I took out a phone from his storage ring. I looked through his contacts and found Evan's name on there. I dialed it and it went through after the 3rd try.
"Hello? Alex?" I heard Evan on the phone
"Evan, help! A-Alex, he...." I cried
"Calm down what's wrong?" He asked
"I-I don't know he's all covered in blood" I wept
"Hold on, I will come find you" He said quickly
A while later he arrived on a pelican with some medics.
"My god, what the hell happened" He ran over
"Help him up" I told him
"Right" He agreed "Come get him on the Pelican" he shouted at thee others
They hurriedly came over and carried him onto the pelican.
Evan looked distressed while staring at Alex's sword.
"What is it?" I asked him as I walked over to it
"His sword cannot be moved or it will-" He stared in shock as I held the sword in my hand "attack them....."
"huh?" I looked at him in confusion
"Never mind, lets go" He turned around and helped me onto the ship
"Where are we going?" I asked
"Back to the base where we could have a better environment for him" He said
I shuddered when I realized I would have to see that woman who I will have to call mother again.
I fell asleep on the ship as we took off
I woke up when we landed.
I was surprised that such an island existed and was separated from the rest of the world by a barrier. Compared to the last time I was here it is more advanced technologically now than before. The walls were even upgraded and there are even more security and defenses.
"What happened Evan" I heard the woman who I would have nightmares of in front of us.
"M-Mother" I greeted
"You're...."
"Artemis" I answered "Alex's Wife"
"OH the girl I had kidnapped and ran away after her marriage with my son"
"I-" I wanted to say something but closed my mouth
"Mom, this is not the time. Alex still need to go to the infirmary" Evan sighed
"What!" She shouted
"Mom, please we have to take him inside" Evan begged
"Go, quickly" She told him
I was going to follow them in too but she stopped me
"Mom, she is also injured lets talk about this after Alex is awake" Evan grabbed me and took me with him
I was put into a pod some time later and had my wounds healed. I came out of it an hour later and changed my clothes.
"Artemis" I heard Calypso shout
"Cal, Alex he-" I tried to explain
"It's alright, don't worry" She held onto my hands
I followed Calypso as we visited Alex. He was still unconscious. I bit my lip and decided to watch over him for the night. Calypso and Hela wanted me to eat something but I didn't have the appetite.
"Artemis, eat something first" Hela sighed as she sat down besides me and gave me a burger
"I'm fine" I tried to push the burger away
"You're clearly not" She continued to persuade me
"Fine" I took the burger and took a bite out of it.
"Eat the entire thing" Hela told me
Looking at Hela staring at me so intensely I gave in "Ok" I ate it slowly as I continued to look at Alex
Cough. Cough.
I started to choke on the burger.
"Drink some water" Calypso came in with a glass of water
"Thanks" I thanked her after I drank it
"You're welcome. Now tell me." She sat down besides me "What happened?"
"I don't know" I said as tears started to form "I fell unconscious and all of a sudden I woke up with Alex like that" Tears started falling down "I don't know"
"Don't cry, we can wait until he wakes up to tell us what happened ok?" Wanda suddenly appeared wiping my tears
"I'm sorry" I whispered
The girls pulled me into a hug.
I watched and waited for him to wake up for three whole days. On the fourth day he finally woke up. I was sleeping when I felt someone touching my hair. I woke up and found myself looking at Alex who was finally awake.
