I Will Try ...

That was what she was worried about, there was nothing to fight for because they had no feelings for each other, at least from Eryk, plus she was not a woman who liked to destroy other people's relationships.

No matter how hurt her heart was, she was sure her feelings were no match for Katherine's.

"I have to catch up with Rainer," said Gaea.

Sebastian nodded in understanding, "Be careful, Miss Gaea."

"Yes," After answering, Gaea immediately rushed out of the house. This conversation took a long time, Rainer might get angry.

'I'm not in the mood to hear his cold words.'

Gaea slowed her footsteps as she got closer to Rainer who was standing beside the car, still busy with his cellphone.

Rainer noticed Gaea, immediately put his cellphone in his pocket, "Finally you came, I'm cold here."

"Hm ..." Gaea responded shortly, really not in the mood to speak.

Rainer could see that there was something strange about Gaea, "What's wrong, hm?" he asked as he opened the door for her.

Gaea would rather get into the car than an answer.

Rainer also got into the car, started the engine, and drove the car out of the house. He appreciated her refusing to answer questions from him.

Gaea glanced out the window where it was snowing, just enough to keep the car moving. The white object filled with water covers the road and the trees around it, normally she is always happy when it snows because the view of the city is much more beautiful for her. Now it wasn't enough to lift her mood.

Rainer stopped the car when he saw the red traffic light.

Gaea took this opportunity to ask, "Hey, Rainer?"

"Hm?"

"Does Eryk have a girlfriend?" asked Gaea.

Rainer exhaled a deep breath, which made Gaea look down gloomily at her fingers, "It's too late," he said. "Eryk does have a girlfriend, but I never liked her."

"Why?" asked Gaea in surprise.

"Katherine was a good woman, but I couldn't find any information on her life before meeting us," Rainer explained calmly.

Gaea rolled her eyes. "Really Rainer? You judge someone by that alone?" she asked in surprise. She knew Rainer liked being cold, but this time on a different level.

Judging someone as appropriate or not by their own identity was unacceptable, let alone Rainer judging Katherine as kind.

She didn't understand Eryk and Rainer's thinking at all.

"I told you, Eryk and I are not good men," Rainer defended himself, "I deserve to know that, but Eryk is blinded by love, he stubbornly says she's a good woman."

Hearing Rainer describes Eryk's feelings for Katherine made her heart feel like it was being pricked by something sharp. She knew they were lovers, but hearing Eryk kept a woman who was not her, squeezed her chest.

Now Gaea has to live with Eryk which makes it possible to meet Katherine often and witness their love as if her natural wounds haven't been enough to inflict salt on it.

Rainer saw Gaea, who was turning gloomy, and said softly, "Do you like Eryk?"

Gaea gasped at this. Her facial expression must have looked too heartbroken for Rainer to ask like that, "I ..." she stopped answering, doubting whether, to be honest with Rainer, "no."

"You're not a good liar," Rainer said, "denying with such a sad face is not a good choice."

Gaea patted her forehead lightly. How can she put on a flat face when her heart is hurt like hell? And why should she choose to lie? She needed something to distract him, and she knew where it was, "Can you turn left?"

"But it's the opposite way to the apartment," protested Rainer.

"I know, I want to take something important to me," said Gaea.

Rainer thought for a moment, then obliged the woman with the hope that Gaea would be happy again, "Where are we going?"

With a big smile, Gaea answered, "Petshop."
