Trauma for destiny

(I want to note that I've been calling velvet violet for the longest now and I kinda grew into it a little. I'll try to go back and fix her name can't guarantee that it will happen overnight anyway back to the story)

Dante~ It was back before you all reunited with Twilight. Back when the school was still around the dawgs ruled the whole school.

Rip~ We were sitting at our normal lunch table and Flash approached us acting as douche as ever.

Twilight~ Flash provoked Dante and that caused that same sinister energy to come out and pierce right through us.

Rainbow~ Just like what happened today.

Rip~ But the last time this happened none of us felt any pain from his energy.

Twilight~ We felt more fear than pain.

Dante~ It's almost as if that side of me got stronger. I don't know how to describe this at all. The only person that would even have a tiny idea of what happened would be my mom but everything she's ever told me was a straight up lie. How the government wants to turn the night owls against us, how they wanted to clone us and make armies. It was all just a sob story.

Fluttershy~ So you have a completely different side of yourself?

Applejack~ And this side can be triggered at any given time?

Dante~ Pretty much and it's hard to control. And I don't know what will happen to the people around me when it happens.

Twilight~ I want to know how someone's energy can be so dark to the point where it hurts the people around them.

Pinkie Pie~ Maybe it's a trait he got from his mom.

Rarity~ Maybe, but what if it's something that's never been seen before by the other Owls?

Rip~ Twilight isn't your mother a Night Owl? Can't you just get in touch with her?

Twilight~ Maybe, I don't know for sure.

Rainbow~ can you check and see if she can help? Because if so then Dante is going to need all the help he can get.

Twilight~ Give me a minute I'm gonna go call her.

Twilight got up and walked out of the room.

Fluttershy~ What if she can't help?

Dante~ Then my brother would be the person we have to seek help from. The problem with that is he went completely off the grid.

Pinkie Pie~ I thought you said he was still in the hospital?

Dante~ I thought he was too but he was released apparently and living with Maggie and Laura. They said he completely disappeared out of nowhere. I mean I'm glad he's finally out of the hospital but I just don't understand why he would disappear.

Rip~ Maybe there's a reason why like maybe he heard about what's been going on and is looking for a way to help.

Rarity~ Darling he wouldn't need to disappear to help us.

Dante~ Whatever the reason is it's a good one knowing him.

Twilight enters the room.

Twilight~ Good news, she can help you. Bad news, you have to do something that will probably scare you.

Dante~ What is it?

Twilight~ It's a ritual that Night Owls perform when a new Owl is born. She told me your mother refused to let them do the ritual on you and chances are she knows why. She also says this is supposed to help you find out what your destiny is.

Rip~ Can I come with?

Twilight~ I mean you can but only the one performing the ritual can be present in the same room. Dante and I are gonna go to my house to get this ritual done. Rip you drive my car to my house, Dante you can pretty much telaport you and me there.

Dante~ Sounds like a plan. Let's go.

Rip~ Can someone that can actually drive take twilight's car?

Rainbow~ I'll drive, don't worry.

Dante~ Alright we'll meet you all at Twilight's house hopefully after the ritual is done.

Sunset~ Good luck.

I wrapped Twilight in my arms as we started to disappear from the scene and slowly reappear in Twilight's house.

Twilight~ Alright she said the ritual would be done in the garage. Just head there and she will be waiting for you.

Dante~ Ok hopefully this can actually help.

I make my way to the garage where violet was waiting. As I got closer and closer the hall started to get a little darker. The lighting was so dim I could barely see the door I needed to open to get inside the garage. Soon I was able to find the door and enter the room I needed to enter. The area was covered in rose petals with unscented candles lit. I saw Velvet sitting on a extra large rose red pillow with a huge silver bowl of water placed in front of her. She then noticed my presents then.

Velvet~ Make sure the door is closed and take off your shoes.

Dante~ Um… ok. The door is locked and my shoes are off.

Velvet~ Come sit on the pillow across of me.

Dante~ Ok. I'm on the pillow what now?

Velvet took a knife and placed it into my hands.

Velvet~ I understand this is scary but I need you to draw some blood from your hand. Specifically enough to turn this bowl of water completely red. I'm

Dante~ Ummmmmmm… Are you sure? That's gonna sting. I don't even know what this water is supposed to do.

Velvet~ It's a special kind of water it tells us your destiny. All we have to do is add someone's blood to it. When you were younger this wouldn't have been that much of a problem. You wouldn't remember the pain and been completely subconscious about it. Plus we had ways to heal you magically. Now it's a completely different story.

Dante~ Ummm… you said enough toake this water red?

Velvet~ Yes completely red. Don't worry I planned this out you will be ok this will hurt though you and I already know this.

Dante~ Ok… I'll do it… HA! AHHHHHHHHHHH!

I took the knife while griping the sharp blade and sliced a big cut in my hand. Violet then took my hand and placed it in the water turning completely red. She soon raised my hand out of the water and wrapped it up.

Dante~ It's hurts so much! This better be worth the wound. What now?

Velvet took a small cup and filled it halfway with the bloody water.

Velvet~ I need you to drink this and when you do you're gonna pass out for a while but when you wake up I need you to tell me what it is you saw in your head.

Dante~ I have to drink this whole cup?

Velvet~ Yes, I also have something you can lay on as you sleep for a bit. There's a soft mat with a pillow by the garage door. Go lay there before you drink it.

Dante~ Ahhhh! My hand!

Velvet~ That will heal with the right treatment and I can help you with that.

Dante~ Ok I'm on the mat now it's time to drink this. Here I go.

The second I finished drinking the entire cup I instantly passed out then appeared in a dark but glimmering void. I soon saw something falling it looked like a star but this star out of the ordinary. It was really small but shined brighter than the sun. Before I knew it the entire area flashed a bright white light and blinded me. I saw nothing but white for a minute before I found myself in my own home but something was different about it.

Dante~ Ugh, what the hell… this is the guest room in my house. My room is three rooms down so why am I in here and not in there?

I got up and decided to explore the house. I saw a bunch of pictures of Twilight and I. There were also pictures of my best friend Rip and some others of the girls. I was confused, I didn't know why there were so many pictures of my friends and my girlfriend on the walls of my house. I finally made my way inside my room inspecting the area. All my stuff was gone, some of it was packed in boxes but most of it was gone. The room was practically empty with the only thing there being my bed.

Dante~ This is so weird… why is all my stuff gone? Why are there so many pictures of everyone on my walls? I don't even remember taking those pictures.

I sat on my bed for a second then a minute later I heard Twilight and Rips voice. They soon walked into the room ignoring my presents.

Dante~ Twilight… Rip…?

Twilight~ I can't… I just can't…

Rip~ It's been ten years now Twilight you have to let go at some point.

Twilight~ It's not as easy as it sounds you know.

Rip~ That's what you've been saying ever since he was killed.

Twilight~ Well dammit it's true isn't it!?

Rip~ Hey you're not the only one who misses him! But even his best buddy knows that he wouldn't want me to dwell on his death and you know he wouldn't want you to do the same.

Twilight~ How can I know when he gave me something that reminds me of him…?

Rip~ Twilight…

Twilight~ I want to be left alone.

Rip~ Twi…

Twilight~ NO! Only he could call me that… Like I said, I want to be alone.

Rip left the room completely silent. Twilight sat on the bed next to me and pulled out a journal from under my pillow. She then read the journal out loud.

Twilight~ "Twilight… if you're reading this it means I'm no longer in this world and I'm sorry I couldn't stick around. It was the only way I could save the human race, I had to work with my mother, I had to kill who she wanted me to kill, I had to become a Rouge. I just wanted to let you know when I die I'm leaving behind all of my energy for you to take and use. If you don't want to have it then it's fine I understand but please at least keep it safe. I love you Twi and I always will. -Love Dante"

Dante~ I'm a rouge…

Twilight slammed the book shut crying her eyes out. She then opened up a bookbag pulling out a box labeled "Dante's Power" she glanced at the box for minutes.

Twilight~ Why… why did you do it? You sacrificed yourself to kill her and she's still alive. you killed yourself for nothing… it's because of her you killed yourself for nothing. AHHHHHHH!

Twilight spiked the box on the ground releasing all of the energy inside it. Twilight was at her peak of rage she cursed my mother and all who worked for her.

Twilight~ Damn you Rose… DAMN YOU! I'll kill you, I promise you that.Not only I'm gonna avenge Dante's death, I won't rest until Rose is dead and I'm not gonna do it alone.

Dante~ Twilight…

Everything started to shake and fall. The roof was breaking apart along with everything else. I tried to run out of the room but the door wouldn't budge. Twilight soon disappeared along with the energy inside the box. The room started to catch flames and all the pictures in the room were burning and falling off the walls. I was scared I didn't know what all of this meant.

Dante~ AHHH! what does all of this mean! Am I really a Rouge!? Am I dead or am I still alive!? Is Twilight mad at me!? I'M SORRY TWILIGHT! PLEASE FORGIVE ME! PLEASE!

Soon the roof was completely broken apart and started to collapse.

Dante~ VELVET GET ME OUT OF HERE PLEASE! VELVET!

Before I was completely crushed everything went black and faded away. I heard a voice whispering to me.

???~ You can change all of this but whatever you do don't give in.

Dante~ Wait! I can change what? What can't I give in to? I need to know before I wake up, I need to know!

All of the sudden I felt a violet shake on my body which woke me up. The second I woke up I ran out of the garage running right past Violet.

Velvet~ Dante! *Sigh* I guess I should have warned him that this would happen.

In the living room…

Sunset~ I hope he's ok. They've been in there for hours.

Twilight~ I'm worried as well I don't know how it's all gonna go.

Rarity~ I forgot why we're even here.

Rainbow~ To see if Dante is a Rouge or not.

Dante~ AHHHHHHH!

Twilight~ Dante!?

Dante~ Twilight!? Thank God you're here!

I gave Twilight the biggest hug she's ever gotten from me. I was in complete tears

Twilight~ Hey Dante look at me, what happened in there?

Rip~ And what's up with your hand? Why is it dripping?

Velvet~ That would be from the ritual. We've had some bad cases but Dante's is by far the worst. He was completely traumatized from what happened I can tell. Anyway I need to know what you saw.

Dante~ I was in my house but my entire house looked different. There were pictures of all of us everywhere and my room was practically empty. I saw Rip and Twilight talking about me… the way they spoke told me that I was dead… Twilight pulled out a journal from under my pillow and read a letter I made for her telling her to either use the power I left behind or to keep it safe. Twilight then was full of rage cursing my mother and all who worked for her. She swore to kill her using my power, then the room started to fall apart. I was almost crushed too and the room caught on fire… I barely made it out with my life, it felt so real I was calling out for help. I was scared for my life… what does this mean?

Velvet~ Ummmmm… Dante, I'm sorry but I thought this could help but so far all I did was traumatize you.

Dante~ You mean I did all of this for nothing?

Velvet~ Y-yes... I'm sorry but I can't interpret what you saw. This is bad, like really bad. You were talking, crying, and pounding on things in your slumber. That's never happened before

Rip~ It was that bad?

Velvet~ Yes, unfortunately it was that bad especially the fact that we had to do the ritual completely different from normal because you're pretty much a full grown Owl or Rouge. I can't help you anymore then I have already. I can say that it's up to you to write your future. You have the power to go down what ever road you want and make sure that road is the best road possible. I'm sorry about the hand by the way, it should heal in a month.

Dante~ Thank you for your help Velvet…

Velvet~ It's no problem, if any of you needs me I'll be in the garage cleaning up everything.

Velvet leaves the room.

Applejack~ Well that's just great. You went through all of that and couldn't get any answers.

Rainbow~ What now?

Sunset~ Honestly we shouldn't think much about it. As weird as it sounds that's pretty much the best option.

Rip~ Sunset is right, we shouldn't stress over this. It is an important topic but this should be the time we should be using to relax.

Dante~ Easier said than done…

Twilight~ Dante… are you ok?

Dante~ I think it's time for all of you to go home, Imma stay here with Twilight.

Fluttershy~ But-

Rip~ Fluttershy let's just give him some space. Ok bro we're not gonna ask questions we just want you to stay strong. Love you big bro. Let's go everyone.

Sunset~ But Rip-

Before Sunset could finish her sentence Rip looked at Sunset with by far the most serious look I've ever seen Rip give someone. Sunset and the others can tell that Rip wasn't playing around and he meant what he said. Everyone got up and followed Rip out the door except Twilight. Twilight and I made it to her room when everyone left. We took off our shoes and hopped in bed together. Twilight cuddled into me like usual and gave me a light kiss on the chest. She then slowly caressed me while looking up at me.

Twilight~ How are you feeling?

Dante~ Like the end is near… I've been stressing ever since Jamie was killed Twilight. It's haunting, the fact that someone I cared about is dead, the fact my mom lied and manipulated me, the fact that she will stop at nothing to get what she wants. It's all nothing but stressful and I can't just ignore this, I just can't…

Twilight~ I can't lay here and pretend to understand because I've never had anything like this happen to me. I do know one thing and that's the fact my mother is right. You have the power to write your future and that can be done by choosing the best road possible. I know you can get through this especially since you have a lot of friends to have your back.

Twilight kisses me.

Twilight~ I love you.

Dante~ I love you too. I'm glad I have you in my life Twi. I honestly don't know what I would do without you.

Twilight~ I as well don't know what I would do without you. You helped me reunite with my friends, as well as help me break free from my past. Without you I would still be alone and in a toxic relationship with Flash. I'm glad that's not the case though, Flash was a jerk and being alone was draining my sanity. The fact that he had the nerve to provoke you like he did today makes me hate him even more.

I slowly started to space out as Twilight was talking. All I could think about was what I saw during that ritual. I was dead and left behind my energy for Twilight to use… why would I ever place such a burden on Twilight? That ritual was scary, I felt like I was actually gonna die from the flames and the roof falling down. I'm in such a deep daydream that my eyes turned a dark red. I saw a light vision of my mother grabbing me by the throat, choking me in the process. Then she started to close her hand and crush my neck. I saw my lifeless body on the ground and a single tear running down my face. I snapped out of it, finding Twilight on top of me trying to get my attention.

Twilight~ Are you gonna be ok tonight?

Dante~ Yes I'm gonna be ok… it's getting late we should go to sleep.

Twilight~ Dante please remember everyone we know are here for you. Even your brother will be there I know it.

Dante~ I'll always remember.

Twilight~ Goodnight, Love you.

Dante~ Goodnight, I love you too.

I wrapped Twilight in my arms as we fall asleep. It was a hard day and I needed some rest. After everything that happened today the last thing I'm worried about is a terribly injured hand. Velvet told me my hand should heal anyway, anyway that's it for this chapter. I'll see you in the next one.
