Weekly evaluations part-2

Because their debut is at stake and each of them had to give their best in dancing and singing, except during lunch and dinner, they didn't even get to talk much with each other properly.

Jun was the busiest of the four. He wakes up at 5, does exercise for an hour, then, prepare a quick breakfast as well as pack lunch for the four of them, he practices his solo dance practice in a corner for several hours, then, eat lunch, then, attend the classes.

After that, he practices piano or violin on his own, then, will get busy with reading the novels and writing highlights of the story, creating lyrics for a song, following YG's earlier advice.

Then, he gets back to the dorm, prepares dinner for the team, after having dinner, gets back to singing practice to improve his vocals stat as much as possible.

The day will end with an hour of exercise at around 11. And the cycle repeated for the next three days and even after that.

The dance was finished with Daniel and Hanbin with a standing pose and Suga, Jun was taking a half-knee stand with everyone facing each side.

"Okay," YG announced as he wrote down something on his notepad, probably the evaluation scores. The dance choreographer that mentored them to alter the choreography of an original seven-member dance to four-member also noted down.

Apart from those two and the two cameramen, no one else is also in the room, and judging by their blank facial expressions, Jun couldn't guess how their performance actually is.

As they performed with the mirror behind them, Jun also didn't know how others did. At the very least, he was satisfied with his own performance for he didn't make any mistakes in either dance or vocals, at least in his own opinion.

"Okay, Hanbin-ssi, you are the first," YG spoke to him. As Hanbin nodded, the other three took their seats.

"I'm going to sing Umbrella, sung by Epik High group."

Soon, as the music started playing in the background, he started to sing.

As he ended his performance, YG and Lee Jae Wook nodded and wrote down the scores. With just fifteen seconds break, Hanbin performed a solo dance for "To my bed" by Chris Brown.

Jun likes to rap but doesn't like to listen to hip-hop songs very much. So, he wasn't as impressed as the other three. However, he did like the dance performance as it was smooth and perfect. In fact, Jun was a little bit jealous of how Hanbin could create choreography.

Regarding the level, Jun wasn't any less than Hanbin skill. Both of them only have the difference of 0.5 points in dance but Jun could only learn quickly. Daniel was even better than Hanbin.

But, in creativity, they were miles behind Hanbin. Jun decided to work on it, once he could write and produce the songs on his own.

One after another, each one performed their songs. Jun was the last one to go. It was arranged that way because YG doesn't want the other three to lose their motivation after Jun performed his solo.

Even though he doesn't have an ounce of a clue what Jun going to perform, YG was confident that Jun will turn any ordinary song into extraordinary as long as it isn't hip hop.

And Jun didn't disappoint him either.

"I'm going to sing, Davichi-sunbae-nim's "This love" from Descendants of the Sun drama."

YG nodded with a smile. Davichi was someone who was contracted to their company. So, it was within the rules.

As these weekly evaluations were different from usual monthly evaluations, Jun and the other three could only cover the songs belonging to the artists or former artists from the same company. If not, then, either foreign songs or the songs from 1st generation Kpop or older.

This wasn't some official rule. It's just an unofficial rule everyone follows, that's all. So, there's nothing wrong with breaking this rule but it wouldn't please either the producers or the PR department.

So, every trainee during the pre-debut stage whether it's a he or she, whether debuting as solo or group will keep this in mind when performing a cover in evaluations.

Even after their debut, they could only cover the songs of their sunbaes during concerts or busking because the companies wouldn't want to promote other company's artists or their songs for free.

But, once the group was popular enough, none of this wouldn't matter.

Well, of course, these unofficial rules only apply to the artists of Big 4 companies like Genesis, ZC, Signature, and Echo who have produced a lot of artists.

"If I turn back time

Will the memories get erased too?

I know I'm saying things

That I can't even do

I'm just saying this out of guilt

For making things hard for you

For making you live in tears

But for me

I can't live outside of you

.

.

.

.

I love you, I thank you

For holding me so warmly

I can live because of this love

I can live because of this love

***********

"Thank you." As Jun finished the song, he took a look at the judges. The choreographer was able to hide emotions but YG, who was maintaining this stoic expression until now, had a pleasant smile on his face.

YG wrote a perfect 10 on the sheet. Lee Jae wook wrote a 9. It is unknown for what mistake he deducted that 1 mark.

"Good, please proceed with the dance cover." YG then said with a smile.

Just from his expression alone, it was clear how much he favors Jun over the others.

As for the dance cover, he performed Taemin's "Move."

This time, the choreographer couldn't hold back his smile. The dance moves in this song were light but Jun's expressions were the highlight of the performance. Previously YG believed that Jun would probably be suitable for the debut song. He was the one who asked Lee Jae Wook to suggest this song to Jun to confirm his thoughts.

Now, he was confident.

Once all the performances are over, YG and the choreographer left with the cameramen without making any comments on their performances or giving any advice too.

Jun and others didn't know how did they perform but at the very least, everyone seemed to be satisfied with their own.

Once they were done with the evaluations, the group of four made a party at the dorm. Of course, Jun was the one that did the cooking except for the pizzas.

They ate, they played a card game, they played pop the pirate, which was won by Jun every time due to his inspection skill, and later, had a nice and peaceful sleep until the next morning where another week of hell was about to start.

For Jun and Daniel, things were about to get crazier as not only did they have to prepare for the upcoming evaluation, they also had to prepare for busking where they had to perform at least 6-10 songs in the public.

Apart from them, there's another person who is in trouble. It is none other than Suga who was assigned as the team leader for the upcoming week.
