Chapter 39 Keeping an eye on her

"Why are the meals large? you could have got medium," Jiah complained to her son feeling full quickly eating the large burger, pancakes and drinking hazel nut McCafe. "Did you forget that I don't eat them?" Auran looked immediately at the back through the mirror while driving at Volca who flushed red. She understood that he bought it for her since he noticed how the normal meal wasn't enough for the appetite.

"I didn't think of it, sorry mom, you can stop if you have had your fill, it's fine," he apologized to his mother. Volca had already finished the meal and was sipping her coffee. He looked back through the mirror again and raised in brow in question.

"Thank you," Volca said moving her lips without making sound and forced a smile. He smirked and continued driving. They reached the aquarium around 10 AM sharply and Auran purchased the tickets for them.

"Let's go," he said. Volca was surprised. She felt like she is diving deep under the sea. If there is one thing Volca has a limit on, it is swimming. Her demonic cultivation prohibits her from diving at the sea. And it is a secret she has kept for life long. Her from is like Auran mentioned a bird, an eagle.

They walked through the Aquarium through different areas. The area of dolphins, sharks and whales, the room of jelly fish, the hall of ornamental fish, the hall of turtles and tortoises, the underground tunnel to sea with the most beautiful view of coral reefs and fish swimming freely. The aquarium was empty, since they were the first people to enter for the day. Volca walked towards the glass. She kept her hands on it and stood watching above how the fish moved around not even bothered by their presence.

"Hey, hey," she said to them. Jiah walked to another direction and Auran stood watching the ladies. Volca was smiling and some fish swam towards her. She moved her fingers around the glass and kept talking to them. And many more swam towards her. Auran's eyes grew wide.

"What the," he gasped. He rushed towards her before his mother notice them. "I can't believe this," he whispered at her. "What conversation are you having with them? You can't be serious being yourself in public place," he went on. "There are cameras here, stop it,"

"What is wrong with you?" She asked him, irritatedly one again.

"Stop," he said once again.

"Stop what? Am just looking at them, petting them," Volca does have the ability to understand animals since she can shape shift. But she thought that her ability to that had been lost but surprisingly it is the only thing that seemed to be working in her body. She felt glad to have part of herself. She wondered what it would have been like to have Aqua here with here coming from fhe Water Realm, she even has the ability converse with creatures.

"Petting them, oh my god, are you kidding me?"

"Shut up Auran," she said his name the second time.

"You shut up," he said back.

"Hey," she said. But another fish appeared in front of her. A clown fish this time. She looked at it and remained silent.

"What now?"

"He is very old? He doesn't have many days left," She said. Auran was even more shocked.

"Oh great," he said and folded his arms looking the fish closely. "He looks fine,"

"Respect the elders," she hit his arms and said to him.

"Ouch," he made the sound and rubbed his arms where she hit him. Then he remained silent until all the fish left.

"I was not talking to them," I was just petting them and learning about their habitation," she said.

"Hence the proof that you are not a human, but a wild creature," he said looking at her profile. She stood next to him watching the fish, her dark eyes were sparkling and full of warmth. He exhaled.

"What are you two doing?" Jiah asked them suddenly, standing behind them.

"Petting the fish," he blurted out. Volca could see that he did not want his mother to misunderstand anything.

"Pet the fish? What are you ? Magical creature to call fish like calling a puppet? Volca teased him.

"You're right Hara, there is not even one around you," Jiah said and mocked her son. Auran looked at Volca who was laughing at him. She winked at him and he shook his head in disappointment. They walked towards the arena to watch the dolphin show. "Get us something to drink son," she ordered Auran and left to get some juice. He got them bottled mango drinks and took the seat next to his mother in the arena. The pool was pretty large and there were very less people to watch the show. Hence they were allowed to sit in the front and even play with the dolphins. Volca enjoyed it thoroughly and helped Jiah stroke the head of dolphins. Whereas Auran kept clean distance from everything. He sat there watching her every action and expression trying find out about her.
