Chapter 40

Human Realm surely looked amazing for Volca and still clueless about why it was cinsided as a place for punishments and trials for the gods. Who would want to go back the heavens and hell leaving a luxurious and fun life behind with amazing places, food, clothes and people behind just for immortality. Volca enjoyed every moment on earth than she did anywhere else.

Visiting the mall made Volca get tired walking around a lot and doing shopping with Jiah after the hectic schedule the day before. She didn't buy anything for herself but lurked around Jiah to finish them. Jiah was like an elephant let open in the sugarcane farm, looking at everything, buying half of them. Volca hence did not want to shop for herself and delay the time again. Her legs were hurting and she wished she did not wear the heels. She could sense Auran taking a glance at her often but let it slip unwilling to react back.

When Juiah walked into spar, one of the the popular hypermarkets, Volca excused herself and chose to spend sometime in a coffee shop opposite the hypermarket, to rest for sometime. She ordered a cup of strawberry latte and sat there relieved. She removed her shoes and relaxed her legs. Couple of minutes later, carrying all the bags with him, Auran walked towards the table settled down. He kept the bags carefully on the chairs around him, counting them, to remember to take them all.

He ordered the same latte as she did but made it chocolate instead. "Tired?" he asked her. She sipped her drink and nodded for the answer. She did not want to converse anything with him. "My mother is a shopping queen, and she easily will exhaust people around her," he said smiling shaking his head playing with the token he recieved for the coffee in his hand.

"Jiah is lively, that's her best quality," Volca said smiling. Jiah is a sister like figure to Volca. But the next dialogues pissed her off.

"Don't hurt her," he said suddenly

"What?" Volca wa shocked.

"Don't eat her, I know you are not human, I can say that, I remember very well the first time I saw you," He said while Volca's grew tensed.

"What on earth are you talking about?" Volca asked him.

"Hara I am saying that I know you," he said and took his phone out.

"Stop it," she said not wishing to argue with him.

"See, I know you are some kind of shape shifting monster," he said straight on her face. He was showing a picture of a lady with wings and canines and holding dangerous weapons wearing a black sexy revealing gown. "This is evil, like you, I know it,"

"Monster, did you say monster?" she asked him. Her eyes filled with tears. She looked at him, feeling hurt. She was not expecting to hear that from anybody on earth. "Monster," she said again, as a tear drop fell on the floor from eyes. She took her bag, kept the latte away and walked away out of the mall. She did not want to be with him nor see his face again ever. She waited for the cab and she got in in one. She decided to go back to the hotel and sleep for the day to not think of what had happened.

Auran was confused and sat still wondering what is that he did for her to feel so wronged and dash out like that. He just sat there watching her storming out. "But..." He tried to come up with a lie to tell his mother about the girl's disappearance. "Aishhhhh...." he said and .received his latte. He sipped then and finished it off at once.

"Where is she?" and Jiah came asking him at the right time. Jiah settled down before him and looked at the table. A half finished latte, still hot. "Washroom?" she asked him. Jiah wanted an opinion from Volca before getting something.

"Err.." he thought about what to say. "She said she is feeling tired and left," He said.

"Left? Like left the mall? Where to?"Jiah asked.

"Hotel I guess, where else," he bluffed. Jiah took out her phone instantly. He had no idea where she would go to.

"Mom, don't," he said. "Let her rest, she did look tired since morning, we will go around places and I will drop you back," he convinced his mother and she listened to him.

Volca reached the hotel and she settled down on her bed, looking up at the white ceiling. She then poured out all her frustrations and cried for a long time. Her pillow wet with the tears. By the time she finished crying she was already asleep. "I'm not a monster," she mumbled in her sleep.
