Goddess?

"...Ugh. Sorry for that little outburst." Dea apologized while massaging her forehead suddenly looking very tired.

"It's just… do you have ANY idea how many deities are just plain horrible? There are so many who see humans as nothing but toys. Something lesser than them, to Abuse. To Destroy. And Punish! Just look at the majority of the Greek Pantheon…" Dea started to get heated again just talking about it but all of her anger deflated pretty quickly remembering who she was speaking with.

Eislynia could only nod, seeing her point. It was kind of hard not to when the Pantheon in question's 'King' of the Gods was basically a shapeshifting, all-powerful man child. A gentle smile graced Dea's face upon seeing Nia agree with her.

"As a Goddess of the very concept of humanity, I am pained dearly by this. Nothing enrages me more than my darling humans, as flawed as they are, being hurt and abused by tyrannical Gods." Dea said with some slight tears in her eyes, leaving Nia to feel a sort of kinship with the primordial in front of her. Although she didn't feel as grandly she had always hated seeing her fellow humans being oppressed by their own. It's why she tried so hard to establish peace across the world in her life.

"Believe me… I love your species more than anything else. I'd do anything to protect you. As such, I have often opposed malevolent deities… but it's never enough. I want a permanent solution and it just can't come through me. As I told you, I am a Goddess, but not like any other. I embody humanity on a level spanning the entire multiverse and the multiverses beyond. This gives me much more power than any God focused on a Universe or a mere Planet. But… I despise my very existence." Dea almost seemed to shrink into herself as she continued on, looking down in shame, genuine remorse, and dread.

Nia felt pained like she never had before, witnessing the adorable goddess looking so vulnerable. She wanted to cheer her up, to comfort her in her time of need like she always had. But before she could get any words out, Dea shook her head and wiped her own tears.

"You don't have to try to comfort me. Really, I'm fine. It's just that I have some… problems. I am a Goddess, but my domain is mortality. Technically speaking, my very existence is abstract and contradictory. An oxymoron. I want the best for humans, but by my hand? Gods have hurt them so many times. In so many realities. Me being a Goddess is already a risk the way I see it. I never experienced being 'Mortal'." Dea rubbed her fingers together while trying to explain her points again.

Nia was a little confused. So she was some sort of mortal Goddess? Certainly, a contradiction if she ever heard one. It sounded a bit like a Demi-God but from the way she was talking, it wasn't quite the same.

"...Anyway. Again, I want nothing but the best. I want for humanity to reach its full potential. To be a race of might as well as benevolence. To be the leaders of reality, kind to the weak and smiting down any vile, malevolent forces, even Gods! However, humanity itself isn't yet at the point they can achieve that. They are too divided in many realities, not even having a unified World Order that ISN'T a dictatorship. And I don't think I need to tell you about the history of human tyrants in your own homeworld…" Dea let out another sigh as she started nearing the end of her explanation.

As much as she loved humans, they could be incredibly foolish at times. A sentiment Eislynia could also agree with, seeing as she was killed due to human greed herself. She didn't even want to argue with her on that one. But she was curious where this was all leading too. As if reading her mind, something she had a suspicion Dea was actually capable of, she smiled and continued talking. Growing noticeably brighter as she did.

"So, I came up with a plan. I want a being, a born human, as my Avatar. My Champion! Someone who I will prepare to become a worthy Deity. Considering mortal experience this should make receiving such power less of a danger. Someone who will strike against Gods abusing their power and make humans the way they should be...preferably WITHOUT any fanaticism or hatred towards anything not human~" She said full of hope while giving Nia puppy dog eyes that somehow showed a mix of cuteness, vulnerability and oddly sexiness all wrapped in one before switching back to that mischievous smile that she was growing to love more by the second before letting out another giggle.

"And rejoice! For I have chosen you! That's right you heard me! I have looked into your soul and I judged you worthy!" She said with flair as she slowly started to float in the air in a show of awe-inspiring power.

Nia was completely entranced for a moment before her words finally clicked in her mind.

"...Wait, what?" Her mind raced to try to understand what she had just been told. She was being given the offer of immense power by a Goddess to become some sort of Goddess herself?

Not exactly how she imagined taking a bullet to the head would turn out for her. But she accepted the reality in front of her rather simply. Even if this was some kind of hallucination she would at least have another chance to finally realize her dream of building a utopia for all to be happy. But that still left one rather important question…

"Why me?" Nia asked after composing herself and trying not to stare at the perfect shapely ass hovering in front of her for longer than socially acceptable. She couldn't help but notice the cute blush that came to Dea's face after she asked. Though she wasn't sure if it was due to her staring or the question itself.

"Well... Um… There are a few reasons, I guess. Some I can't tell you just yet. Some you'll find out soon enough… But um, I guess the most important would be…" Dea started panicking a little very cutely while flustered and Nia couldn't help the strange desire born in her to tease the lovely goddess.

"I-I-I Lo-ovee YOU!" She almost shouted out with her face and ears practically beat red as she tried to hide behind her hands yet still occasionally peeking between her fingers. Nia herself also went red to the ears but for a completely different reason.

'Soooo CUTE!' This wasn't the first time she was confessed to but it's the first time she had ever gotten one from someone this cute! She practically wanted to gobble her up right then and there.

"While searching for the right soul... I came across yours not too long ago. It was the first time I've seen a soul that matched my own so perfectly. I was sure you'd make the perfect avatar. But then I saw you work. I saw the dream you strived towards. It was beautiful. It was exactly what I envisioned myself. I tried to give you as much support as I was allowed to and I got to see you shine brighter than any star in the universe! Everything about you was simply stunning! But then…" Dea grew more and more excited as she went on before that familiar sadness came back full force. Nia knew she was talking about her death but she had already tried her best so she didn't feel too sad about it.

"Well, in any case, you don't have to accept you know. I don't want to force you to do anything after all. If you don't want to, I can easily send you back to your own world as if nothing ever happened. This whole thing would have seemed like a dream to you. As an added bonus, I'll make sure to bestow you and your world a bit of good luck. I'll even make sure that humanity won't ruin itself for the next few centuries at the very least… AH! Of course, if you accept the offer I'll still bestow the same gift to your world. So don't let that change your mind! " She almost sounded frantic while trying to compensate Nia for bringing her here without permission. Nia of course had already decided to help but she found it slightly amusing watching the cute goddess get flustered like this. If this keeps up, she might start developing bad habits.

"Fufufu, I'd be honored to accept your offer, Dea." Deciding she had kept her waiting long enough, Nia confirmed her participation in whatever Dea was planning for the future. The billion-watt smile that accompanied only solidified her decision.

"HAHA! PERFECT! I promise you won't regret this!" She glomped Eislynia with joy after hearing her confirmation. They both enjoyed the hug and quick kiss before Dea tried to get serious again, but the excited almost childish smile on her face ruined all her efforts.

Dea waved her hands and suddenly Eislynia was no longer sitting/hovering in bed and was now seated on the magnificent Throne she had observed earlier. She felt comfortable. Nostalgic. Like something that had been missing was finally returned to her. This only amplified as Dea plopped herself right on her lap while resting her head on her shoulder, nuzzling into her neck affectionately and playing with her hair.

"Now to properly start your Apotheosis. I just need to fully release some of your energy while merging my own and finish constructing your body. It shouldn't hurt but it will take a little while. In the meantime, I'll have you choose some of your specifications and abilities for the future."

While she was talking Dea was quickly going to work with the process and Eislynia began to feel power like she had never felt before invading her core. It was blissfully addicting, but she managed to retain her consciousness to continue to listen to Dea's explanation.

"Some you'll possess for Free, courtesy of being my Champion. While others, I've devised a system of sorts to help you choose. Unfortunately, your body is still new so there is a limit to the number of skills it can hold for the time being but don't worry, even just one of these skills would have been enough to call you a cheat existence!" Dea said as a holographic screen showed itself in front of them. Displaying some information Eislynia quickly read over while rubbing her hands over Dea's soft thighs.
