1 Day Left

It's the next day meaning Mazzra has only today to collect what she needs and spend time with her family and friends. After showering and eating breakfast Mazzra hopes her family listened to her reasons and will let her join the Empire, 'not like I won't be supporting my family' Maz says to herself knowing that some of her pay will go back to Earth for her family, even though she doesn't have to.

Seeing her dad sit in the living on a Friday morning on his morning off watching the news,

''It is the last day for The Empire recruitment day, remember to all who have joined tomorrows 9 am is the time you need to arrive at your stations'' the news report says showing the long ques of people signing up and yet more protesters are there saying their peace. ''I am with them who are refusing to accept this controversy'' Ed says while slamming the remote control down next to him in the sofa. Ignoring the remark Maz walks to the kitchen and hears her phone beep.'A message' Maz says to herself seeing a message from Jess just received that second.

''Hey want to meet as today is your last day? xx'' -Jess

''Sure where? Meet know its very awkward here atm. xx''-Maz

Sighing with relief Maz is happy that Jess replied there and then as staying at home a while longer is going to make her lose her mind. As soon as she replied her phone beeps again,

''Great! Meet me at the park if you like. xx''-Jess

''Sure! On my way. xx'' -Maz

Quickly putting her grey boots and coat on Maz makes her way to the park to meet Jess, 'this is going to weird tomorrow' she says to herself keeping her hands in her pockets while looking up to the Star Destroyer near above her.

COMLINK TO THE EXECUTOR

''Yes Lord Vader we have over 10 thousand recruits and still counting but where are we going to take them as it is far too many for two Star Destroyers to hold?' Kronn asks Darth Vader getting anxious about unexpecting thousands to join. ''Send four more Star Destroyers what you think is fit, do not disturb me again Captain'' Darth Vader replies his deep voice making it not known if he was threatening or not, ''of course my Lord'' Kronn quickly replies and bows down just in time before the comlink ended.

''We need four more Star Destroyers now!'' Kronn shouts to the Radio group ''make sure you get both women only and men only Star Destroyers!'' Kronn says again as we storms off with beads of sweat dripping down his forehead.

MAZ AND JESS

''Well here's is Miss successful'' Jess says while giving Maz a hug, ''as we don't want to keep reminding you that it's your last day we have made a plan'' Jess then says pulling out papers full of writing, ''We all come together to do this and leaves you plenty of time to spend the rest of the hours with your ungrateful family'' Lauren replies receiving a nudge from Jess, ''It's ok I hope they come to be happy for my decision, I am really leaving them'' Maz replies with a sad smile. ''Anyway lets start'' Sophie says trying to change the subject, ''first, it's to Costa to get all our favorite drinks'' Sophie then says moving her arm to gesture to follow her, as they do Maz cannot help notice the line is nearly done and knows what the welcoming recruitment speech is said.

Entering back at home everyone was quite not one word has been said after Maz come back from a fantastic day with her friends. As everyone sat down at the table quietly eating their tea, Daniel doesn't each much of his food, ''will you stop playing with your food son'' Ed says as a head-down ignored Daniel carries on pushing the peas from one side of the plate to the other. ''It's going to be different without you here sis'' mumbled Daniel trying not to show any signs of crying, ''I know brother it's going to be hard for me to leave but I have to do this for myself'' Maz replies dropping her knife and fork down to hold her brother's hand in reassurance, Daniel looks up to his sister showing his red puffy eyes streaming with tears, ''you breaking the family apart'' says Ed ''you know we are a close nit family and you are destroying it. I don't want you to go I will miss you my only daughter'' Ed then says trying to sound stern but as soon as he said miss you his voice began to crack ''please don't leave, you're going to alone up there and we are too far away to help you when in need.'' he finally says while dragging out a hankie out of his pocket to wipe his face. ''I know dad but I will be alright I promise'' Maz replies looking at every family member at the table to see her mum silently listening not saying a word. ''If I need help I am sure I can find some'' Maz then says trying to reassure her family that she can be independent. ''And if things change I'm sure I can come back'' Maz quickly says hoping that will comfort them but suddenly Claire stands up and walks out of the room not saying a word. 'mum please don't be like this' Maz says to herself while finishing off her tea.

''Well, it's getting late think we have time to watch one last...'' Ed was saying till the tears started falling down his face, ''I think we can dad'' Maz says while giving her dad a hug. ''What shall we watch?'' Daniel says flicking through Netflix, ''let Mazzra pick this time Dan'' Ed says wiping his tears away and sit in his recliner chair, ''I wouldn't mind watching Grease but first I need to speak with mum'' Maz replies while hurrying to her mum and dad bedroom, slowly opening the door Maz sees her mum sitting at the edge of the bed staring through the window to outside. ''Mum'' Maz says while walking to sit beside her, ''sorry dear I just needed a moment'' Claire replies taking hold of her daughter's hand, ''tomorrow is the big day isn't it?'' she asks and Maz nods her head yes ''well I guess it's time to give you this'' Claire replies opening a draw next to her, she picks up a small box and hands it to Maz, ''this is to be given to you when you leave home'' Claire begins saying as she opens the box up ''mum I'm 23 I think it is the time I did leave'' Maz replies watching her mum and see a gold chain with an infinity shape with stones of ruby and white sapphire places in between. ''This was your great-grand, and great-great gran, let's just say it been through the family'' Claire says while seeing her daughter hold it in her hands ''mum I don't know what to say'' Maz says suddenly lost for words ''there is nothing to be said'' Claire replies while taking it and starts putting it on her daughter neckline and fastens the clip ''there now your ready'' Claire says smiling sadly '' thank you, mum, I'll never take it off I promise'' Maz says giving her mum a hug ''come on the boys are waiting I chose Grease tonight'' Maz then says walking back to the living room with her mum just behind her.
