Chapter Four

We came out the other side of the portal in a cave. "Where are we?" Hope asked. "the one place I know is safe" I replied, dropping to the ground. "NIGHT! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." I looked at Hope and saw she was terrified.

"You saw it, didn't you?" She nodded. Hope started to ask "What was that?" but I cut her off.

"That is my true power. But it's draining to hold back on the power."

She started to cry as I sat her down next to me, curling her tail around her. "Get some rest. No one will bother you." I said softly. I started petting her head, and next thing we knew, we fell asleep.

When the morning came, I woke up to a Dragokin woman looking at me, sopping wet from… Saltwater. "Wait, there's no- "I started to say before it hit me. I see out of the corner of my eye a teal colored tail. "By the Dragon Gods, I'm going to kill that brat when I see her," I said, knowing what happened. "Oh, so you KNOW her?" Hope shot back at my comment, infuriated that she got hit with a wave of water. "She's the closest I got to a sister. Other than her, you and I, there is one other Dragokin, which you will meet in due time."

"Wait, there's MORE OF US?"

"Yeah, and you are about to meet some powerful people."

"People?" she asked, shuddering. "Not actual people. But they are what I got for a family."

We walked deeper into the cave until we saw a light. I motioned Hope to wait, making sure there were no traps. I walked around the corner to meet an uncontrollable wave to the face. "BY THE DRAGON GODS, I JUST DRIED OFF!!! TSUNAMI, YOU ARE DEAD MEAT!!"

The teal Dragokin child started running, laughing at my misfortune. Hope peeks around the corner, only to see me grabbing Tsunami by the wing and picking her up. "You know you are in big trouble, right?" I say, still wet from the splash zone. Tsunami sticks out her tongue. Hope comes around the corner. "She didn't mean anything by it," She said, chuckling, "you were just there at the wrong time." I would growl, still smelling saltwater.

"Where's Ra'gul?"

"He's at the bathing hole." Tsunami said. "He was grumbling over something about his mission. Who's the cute lady? Your wife to be? Or did you go get a new one?"

"Tsunami, I will bash your head into next week if you keep going." I said, my face showing a line of red. "This is Hope. Hope, this little runt's name is Tsunami. She's also the one who hit you with a wave of saltwater."

Tsunami put on her innocent and adorable face on. "Hi Hope!" she said. Hope smiled and waved, trying to hide her anger behind her smile. "How old are you, little one?"

"I'm 16 in Dragokin years." Tsunami said. "SO, YOU KNEW WHAT YOU DID WAS WRONG!?" Hope said, starting to attack. I tripped Hope, grabbing the sensitive spike on her back to keep her from losing her teeth. "No attacking the family, Hope. No matter how annoying they get," I said, squeezing Tsunami's wing.

"OWWW!" they both screamed. When I let both of them go, Tsunami went through a wall leading to her room. "Why there? You could've grabbed any other one." Hope asked, trying to reach a wall. I picked her up, and we continued. "I had to make sure you listened closely." I said bluntly. We kept walking until we hit what seemed like a dead end. I went through the wall leading to a large room, pulling Hope with me. "I'm back. And I have someone with me." I said, speaking the dragokin's tongue. A voice boomed in the room, "Welcome back, Night. And who might this be?"

"This is Hope, someone from before we met. I told you all about her."

The voice called out to her, but she couldn't hear it.

"Why isn't she responding?!" a second voice boomed.

"Because you two haven't showed yourselves to her."

After I said that, a light shined from the middle of the room, brightening up the place. Then, two dragons, coiled around each other, appeared from the light.

"Hope, was it?" the black dragon spoke, "I am the Dragon Goddess Obsidian."

The red dragon spoke, "And I am the Dragon God Natsumune. It's a pleasure to meet you, Hope." Hope just stood there, staring at them. "They're… So beautiful," was all she could say before her eyes started to bleed.
