Chapter Five

I looked over at Hope, who is staring in awe, and grabbed her jaw, pulling her face towards me. "Hey, turn down the godliness, she's bleeding! Are you trying to kill her?" I asked, annoyed. I heard Natsumune taking a breath to speak when I stopped him. "By the Dragon Gods, you and Ra'gul are the same, I swear." The Dragon god got offended by what I said but he couldn't deny it.

Speaking of Ra'gul, he came in a while ago, thinking I didn't notice. I put up my hand, calmly closing my eyes. When I opened them again, my hand was clenched around his fist, scaring Hope with how close he was to hitting her.

"Go get the first aid kit, Ra'gul. I need it." I said calmly. He huffed, coming into full view. Hope looks at me with a look of terror. "Was that- "

"Ra'gul, yes. He can turn invisible, giving him the nickname 'the Ghost'," I explained.

"But how did you- "

"Know where he was? I told you, this is the closest I got to an actual family. After running into the Dragon Gods, he was the first one I met. Quite the fight, if I do say so myself." Hope wipes the blood off her face, forgetting the fact that she was still by the Dragon Gods. She looked at them and her eyes started bleeding again. "Oh, for the love of-, "Hope pouted. All I could do was laugh.

"Why would you look back at them? I haven't patched you up yet," I said, laughing.  "Let me go get the first aid kit."

As I stood up, I remembered I could use portals. So, I opened two of them. One to Ra'gul, and the other to the first aid kit.

"Now, I know I shouldn't do this, but I'm going to anyway," I said to myself with a smile.

I grab the first aid kit and smacked Ra'gul with it as hard as I could. Then, I closed both portals and wait for chaos to ensue. After a short while, you could hear him stomping to the room.

'Tsk, too easy.'

Just before he gets to the door, he gets entangled on some rope I laid. You could hear him cursing in Dragokin's tongue. I'm laughing so hard, my wings hurt. "Here, use this, Hope." I said, still laughing.

I helped Hope clean up and cut Ra'gul out of my trap. Even though I preferred him there, I don't need the Goddess mad at me. "I'm gonna show Hope where her room is. Get some rest, Mom and Dad." Hope, upon hearing this, started to ask me a question when I quickly silenced her by pinching her close to her sensitive spike. I opened a portal and walked her through to her room.

"Oww, what was that for?" she asked.

"Because I knew your question." I sat her on the bed with me sitting next to her. "Remember how I said this is the closest I have to family? Well, those two found me as a kid and raised me." When my eyes met hers, she was teary eyed, trying to wipe her face before I saw. I leaned in close, wiping a tear out of her eye, our eyes locked on each other. Then, I fell off the bed. I leaned too far and didn't realize it. Or so I thought.

"Oops, my bad" Hope says, blushing. "I don't have full control of that."

"Of what?" I asked curiously.

"Well, how do I explain it? If I think hard enough, I can alter the future a bit. But sometimes it activates itself, altering the future on its own." She explained.

"So, in other words, its connected to your feelings as well as your mind. You were flustered and so your power activated." I said bluntly, trying to make sense of the situation. "Well, my room is next door, on your left, Tsunami's room is to your right, restroom is straight across." Hope would nod, trying to remember all that at once. "Innocence will only get you so far in life. I don't even know how you could…" My voice trailed off. "Could what?" Hope asked.

"Never mind, just get some rest. We have an early day tomorrow." I said, walking out the door.
