Chapter Eight

As I went to go take out the rest of the group, Hope gave me some support by drawing the sniper's fire towards her. Although risky, our speed was superior to their firing speed. The swordsman...

"Wait, where's the-"

Sensing danger towards my wing, I quickly dodged to the side as the sword came down. The amount of questions went through my mind as the swordsman appeared in front of me and knees me in the jaw. "Son of a b*tch, that hurt," I said with a smile. It was rare for a human to deal actual pain to me. upon closer inspection of the swordsman, he was wearing animal skin as armor.

"Eyes of the Dead."

The skin he was wearing was a Dragokin from the Eyes of Future Past. Holding back my rage, I called upon Hope. "Yes?" she called back.

"Come here."

Feeling my rage, she quickly came over. But when she saw what he was wearing, she said one thing. "Put her to rest."

I dashed towards him, my blade aimed for his throat, but he managed to block my strike. After our blades clashed, he froze in fear.as I backed off, I let another spell loose along with my shadow.

"Soulless Illusions"

Suddenly, there were ten of me surrounding him. As if I summon ten demons, they all struck the swordsman at the same time, causing him to collapse into a lifeless heap of flesh.

"You're next," I said as I looked at the sniper. But all the sniper saw was a demon's face looking at them before it disappeared.

-----------------

"The hell was that? What did I provoke? WHY DID I PICK THIS BOUNTY?" the sniper thought, their hands slick from sweat. Hope was still trying to distract them from targeting me when she noticed they wasn't moving.

"Aww, you broke them. I was starting to have some fun with them too.." she pouted.

"You do know I can still hear you right?" I said back.

"So? How will you repay me?" Hope teased as I went to the sniper. I don't think she's ready for my answer, so I'll just ignored her question for now. I picked up the contraption the sniper used and inspected it. "Well, this is a rare sight. A reincarnated being managed to get their preferred weapon to come with them," I said while inspecting the chamber. "But why this contraption? I cant load arrows into this. The hell did you shoot anyways?" I said curiously.

The sniper snapped back into reality and stood up. "It's called a sniper rifle and give it back," she said like a child demanding their toy. "And what if I said no?"

"Then you'll die. It's that simple," she said with confidence as she pulled out a knife. All I could do was laugh. She looked so pitiful with her stance, trying to be intimidating, and it wasn't working. "I'm sorry, was that supposed to scare me?" I asked between laughs. "Tell ya what, I'll let you live, but I'm keeping this contraption you call a sniper rifle." I could use this at a far longer range after I convert it.

"But-"

"Would you prefer to die a gruesome death right here?" I said softly into her ear. Without saying another word, she look off running.

"I fixed your toy, Hope. How will you repay ME?" I teased back. "Well, I do owe you for saving me, hun. I'll make sure to pay up when we find some shelter." she said while coiling her tail. "As for the toy.. " She summoned two axes and chucked them into the forest.

"Homing Execution"

The blades of the axes glowed red as they targeted the sniper, cutting down everything in its path. The last thing I heard was the woman screaming as her legs were cut off before she died to decapitation.
