"Dungeon diving is an art. An art craft and perfected along the years by humanity. In older and more uncivilized times we use to simply pickaxe everything until we found the bottom, but times like that were long gone, today we simply delve into old and ancient ruins with the expertise taught by our ancestors discovering secrets and accumulating riches."~Alt Jin Book of no sun: diving deeper~

"When you are diving in the depths of an ancient dungeon you must be aware of some very important things. First and foremost, if you see a Dragon Priest you don't fight, you just run, run for your dear life and sanity. If you see a Dragon Priest with a mask you simply pray to your next reincarnation to be swift and painless." ~Alt Jin Book: Scary things you shouldn't fuck with ~

Seeing as I am ready as I could be I double-checked everything. Yes, it is somehow unnecessary for a [Sharingan] user, but I would extremely pissed at myself if I forgot something when I am five-kilometers deep underground, that would totally suck.

I look at the only intact door of the storage room, the door that would lead me into the depths of the dungeon. Stretching myself for a bit I allowed myself to take some deep breaths relishing the more enjoyable and damp air. This humidity is eons better than anything the desert has by a long, long mile.

Drawing my two-handed saber I make some practice swings with it. Any master of the sword would clearly be able to tell that I had a good technique, but no practice in the art whatsoever. Thankfully I have other ways to compensate for that, I will abuse my [Sharingan] and try to use the sword as a robot would do, a difficult task as I am a simple meat bag, but something that should be slightly possible thanks to the [Sharingan].

Having gotten a proper feel for the sword I decided to push [Wave] into it. Immediately I started hearing a faint and almost imperceptible sound, but my ears boosted by [Wave] were able to catch it.

*tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng*

This... It was almost as if the sword itself was broadcasting a hypnotic melody. It appears that when [Wave] rippled through the sword it caused quite some interesting effects. And before you ask, no, I do not have a Vibroblade. The sword was simply making a funny noise when I cycle some [Wave] into it.

Tightly holding the sword I slash forward, completely bisecting the door diagonally. Thankfully the door didn't have any type of enchantment, meaning it could be cut with relative ease. After performing such a cut I did some more test swings with my blade coated in [Wave], and feeling the satisfactory results I simply nodded at it.

Behind the door there was to the surprise of no one a huge ass corridor, the corridor was large, easily more than five meters wide, unfortunately, I can't see how long it is but I am reasonably sure it's pretty long.

I proceed with firm and decisive steps, I was neither fast nor slow deciding on a calm and observant approach towards the unknown corridor. I looked for traps, undead, or some clue of the necromancers' presence. But I found none. Maybe they disappeared like the Dwemers?*Snort* I sincerely doubt it, my father used to say that there worse the person is the more difficult it is to get rid of them. And I am inclined to believe in him, principally in these necromancers' case, they surely are up to something, and whatever a necromancer is up to something bad things happen.

I continued on this path paying attention to my surroundings and evading every trap I found on my way. The magic traps would be especially nasty, but with a [Sharingan] they might as well have a sign painted on their location, using magic made it only easier for the [Sharingan] to spot it. It was actually pretty funny seeing the trapmaker trying to be clever hiding his magic traps the best he could, only for it to have the exact opposite effect of making them easier to spot for me.

I continue along the corridor until I reached a great hall. the hall was decorated or anything but by analyzing the place I was able to see that people used this hall a lot on a daily basis. But right now I am faced with a different choice, there are three ways I could go, forward, left, or right.

I am not really that much concerned about which direction to choose, places like these rarely have a dead end as most of the tunnels are interconnected in some way or the other. That is a good thing because I won't need to keep backtracking over and over in order to find something.

I chose to go left. And for some miracle or the other, the door to the left was unlocked, meaning I don't have to destroy it to pass through. After that, I entered another corridor, but this corridor was different from the previous one. First, it doesn't have any traps, and the walls are a little bit different too, the corridor is roughly two-meters wide and quite spacious, to be honest. But what really put this corridor apart from the others is the number of doors I found on it.

If I am not mistaken this should be an apartment complex or the sleeping quarters' for the necromancers here. When I gently opened a door AKA sliced it open with my saber, what I saw was a simple room with a wardrobe, a desk, and a bed.

The rooms were mostly filled with useless personal objects belonging to the necromancers, and I swear to god if I see one more severed finger I am gonna lose it.

I didn't expect to find any valuable item in the necromancers' quarters, average people of this time carry most of their possessions with them, rarely would someone poor trust a chest to guard something valuable, if they can carry it with themselves they will probably do it without missing a bit. Why do you think the storage Room had only normal kinds of items? they either have a more secured place where they tore the most valuable ones, or the high-ranking necromancers carry the valuables with themselves. My bet is in the second option.

So, unfortunately, I didn't find anything interesting in the rooms, besides body parts of course. but these guys are necromancers, working with body parts is in the job description.

Soon I reached the end of the corridor, and I couldn't help but grow even more suspicious. Where are all the undead? Isn't this supposed to be a spooky necromancer lair flowing with undead and necromancers, but I only found some low-level undead that was working as automatic sentinels and one controlled skeleton.

Not gonna lie here this situation is sus as fuck. I can only pray that these fucker aren't trying to summon some Daedra like Mystic Dawn in Oblivion, that would suck, as I don't think I can fight Daedra right now. Squish human? yes. Weak Undead? pretty easy. Dremora with full plate Daedric armor and weapon? Not so much.

Besides, and I sincerely doubt the Dremora don't know how to use magic, those fuckers are probably one of the hardest and most fearsome enemies of this realm. Yeah, I know there are different ranks of Dremora. If it's someone like early chapters Xikil I think I can deal with them pretty easily, but if it's something older and stronger I probably better run.

Yes, [Wave] and [Ripple] deal bonus damage to Dremora, but I am not gonna underestimate something that is centuries older than me with tons of combat and magical experience that would be very stupid.

But considering they are necromancers the Dremora part maybe be a slight stretch. These guys venerate Mannimarco the King of Worms, so I doubt they would suck off some random Daedric prince for Dremora.

I stopped my random thoughts for a bit when I reached the end of the corridor. But differently from before, there wasn't a door here, just an entrance that leads to a staircase downwards.

Thankfully the stair seems trap-free, but I noticed something strange about it. The smell, there was a strange and disgusting smell of something decaying, something rotten. I normally don't complain much about the smell of things but this was something *ugh*, pretty terrible.

Yikes, I was expecting the smell of a necromancer dungeon to be bad, but not THAT bad. I continued descending the stairs to the lower level. The smell got stronger and stronger for each step I descended.

Soon after a long time descending stairs I finally reached a lower level. It was a small hall with only one big double door on the corner, seeing as there wasn't any other thing inside this specific hall I decided to try to open the doors. They opened easily. Huh, I expected them to be locked but I guess no one bothered to do it.

After exiting the small hall I was face to face with a giant chamber hall. It was big, incredible so. The floor was a mixture of stone and dirt forming an uneven and strange ground. In the middle, there was a giant well that I presume is the source of water of this place.

This chamber hall ceiling si easily above 10 meters in height. In total area, I would think it is something around 250 square meters. And seeing there was a podium here I believe this is some kind of common area where the necromancer would gather to hear their cult leader make speeches.

Counting the door I came from, there were other five double doors, each on a specific corner of this assembly hall. Thankfully the doors have been labeled this time.

There was the Laboratory, the door, in this case, is metallic, this is probably the place where they do experiments and other things of the sorts

There was the cafeteria, where the necromancers probably eat most of their meals.

There is the ritual hall, which I think is pretty self-explanatory. This is the most probably place the necromancers are right now, doing god knows what. and seeing there is a strange and ominous sound coming from here, I bet this is the place where they are concentrated at.

The next one was a Practice hall. Probably a place where they practice their magics, learn new spells, test their undead, and all things of the sort.

The last one was the Dungeons, the -place where they probably maintain their human prisoners and test subjects. When I got close to the place the smell was honestly pretty horrendous, after I clear these necromancers I guess I can try to see if there are any survivors in here.

After roaming around the place for a bit I think it's safe to say that the ritual chamber is the most probable place the necromancers are at. So I made a beeline straight to that door, but the moment I touched the handle of the doorknob, 10 zombies burst out from the earth.

but these aren't normal zombies like the previous ones, nope. These are patchwork zombies. And they are helluva uglier and stronger than the ones from beforehand.
