Oriole stalking cricket

Jiushu fell back in fright.

The pull vanished from mind.

'What in the world is that' she thought to herself, as she scrambled back.

She could still hear voices from outside.

'Clang'

Scree..

Screeeeeeeee…

Screeeeeeuuuuuchup..

She concentrated on the sounds to find what's happening, not daring to look at the window.

She has a feeling she would rush forward to take that blood red jade as soon as she looked at the window.

She has great will power, but Jiushu knew herself. She is not the type to bend, but break.

Whatever that amulet's power is, she is far too susceptible to it.

She braved an extremely quick peek at the window.

There's a rope creaking in front of it.

Someone threw a hook over here, and is coming here by using the rope.

She crawled as fast as she could outside of the hut, and bolted the door from outside.

Bravery?

Let overpowered heroes of the cultivation world boast of such things.

The amulet jade they have in their hands affected her mind directly.

It can be resisted with no amount of physical power.

If her mind has lost logical thinking, even undoing a door will be impossible for her.

So, the only way she can resist is to get locked in here, at least until this pull on her mind disappears.

She bolted the door from outside, and ran to the opposite side of the house.

The pull on her mind came as expected. Jiushu's eyes glazed over. Even if she felt greater pull from here, it is the urge to walk straight towards the direction of amulet. Since there is a wall in that direction, she kept pushing at the wall mindlessly. It only disappeared after a long time.

It seems dawn has turned to dusk before pull disappeared from her mind.

Jiushu washed herself, turning the water red.

It seems she has tried to walk into the wall so many times, there are imprints in blood on the wall.

Her toes hurt like someone tortured her, while her hands hurt like a thousand pinpricks are delivered straight to the skin.

She bathed slowly and carefully, removing each and every splinter from her hands. She pulled out the splinters of her nails from her toes. It is fortunate she has worn big shoes filled with straw. If she had worn something smaller, by now her feel would have turned into minced meat. Her feet felt like she was on nails each time she walked, her hands twinge in pain every time she touched something.

For the first time since she has come to this world, Jiushu felt terror.

When she first realized her power, she thought herself to be invincible.

After all, even in petroleum fire, she could live in her own little crack.

However, now she realized, there is far too much about this world that she doesn't know.

Like some cool main character said…

'What you know may hurt you, but what you do not know can kill you'

She is a runaway princess, her hunter is a veritable pied piper. At least pied piper released all kids harmlessly. she has no illusions these hit men will do so.

No matter what risks she faces, she must destroy that amulet.

She opened the door cautiously. Her hands are paining like someone did needle work on them. She tilted her head to stop the tears. She pushed open the door with her shoulder. She waddled over to the window carefully, minding each and every one of her steps. She could see a table surface right outside the window and the blood red amulet right in front of her.

She was about to reach her hand, but she stopped at the last minute.

She felt no pull.

'Is it a fake?' she wondered.

She listened carefully for any kind of sound.

There is none.

Jiushu came out of her bracelet. She felt as if she had entered the world for the first time.

She turned around to take a look at her surroundings.

It is some kind of library sans workshop. There are pottery tools, and many jars. On the table where the amulet is, there is a magnifying glass along with a book. Jiushu recognized at first glance the pattern on the book is very much like the blood red leaf, while the words she did not understand. She grabbed the amulet and entered the space.

She stared at the blood red jade leaf in her hands. What to do now?

She did not know how to use it, and if it were a fake, she doesn't know where the real one is.

Damn.. she thought to herself.

For now, let's store it in space and then think of alternatives.

Jiushu carefully listens for any sounds, steps, screeches or otherwise, but the hall is simply quite silent. She came out, unable to sit in her own space for any longer.

She walked around and looked at the furnishings in the room.

The table is quite sturdy, the chair is well made. There are sitting stools and ink pads for writing. There are racks and racks of wooden scrolls.

It is wrong to steal, Jiushu thought for a moment.

'Wait.. These guys are trying to murder me… It is like robbing a bandit's lair. It's not wrong.' She justified herself.

She touched the book on the table with a finger and stored it.

She stored the magnifying lens next.

She touched a rack and tried to store it… only for the wooden scrolls to clatter to ground.

Jiushu is so frightened, she automatically hides inside her bracelet.

However, time passed and no one came.

Jiushu came out once more, started her looting.. Only, half way through, she felt a strange malicious ness wash over her.

The next moment, fire filled her vision once again.
