Chapter Three.

"Daniel" Amanda said.

"

What is she still doing here. "Daniel shouted pointing at May.

"Well, I was hoping you could let her stay with us for a few days since she has nowhere to go ". Amanda explained.

"A few days? She can't stay here for a few days. Isn't it enough that I have already helped her?"

"Don't be rude, let her stay. Where will she go. As it is it's almost night. it's not safe out there " Amanda reasoned.

"I don't care, just get her out " Daniel spat out.

"It's okay. I'll leave " May interrupted.

"Good " Daniel said coldly.

"No, you can't go. Where will you go?Just wait I'll convince him to let you stay"Amanda reassured.

"Never" Daniel spat and left through the door.

"I'm sorry you fought with your brother because of me. You guys have helped me enough. I'll manage. You don't need to worry." May said.

"I don't need to worry" Amanda scoffed "You are pregnant and on top of that you are injured. Of course I am worried." Amanda said.

"I'll be fine. I hope I see you again someday. Bye " May said as she pudded to the front door, she opened it and left

Amanda went straight to her brother's room.

"Why did you do that?" she demanded.

"Do what?" he asked disinterested.

"That, why did you kick her out?" she inquired .

"You make it sound like I committed a crime . It's my house so I get to decide who stays and who doesn't."

"Really? Are you even listening to yourself. The poor girl doesn't have anywhere to go and you just keep kicked her out. I am unbelievably hurt by what you did. In fact I am disappointed in you. You have to go after her".

"You know I can't do that. She can take care if herself. She'll be able to find her way home. " he said dipping his hand in his pocket.

"Which home? She has no home to go back to. She has just managed to rub away from her parents who forced her to marry a man four times her age, and her abusive husband. And on top of that she is pregnant "Amanda shouted.

"She's pregnant?"he asked in disbelief.

"Yes, she is pregnant and injured now will you go after her? "Amanda asked.

"Okay, I'll go." he took his car keys from the table and left.

May had been walking for a couple of minutes when she decided to stop. She needed to rest, after all her foot was hurting from too much pressure that she applied to it.

She saw a deserted corner. She limped slowly to it then curled herself up and closed her eyes.

"May" she heard someone call.

Unsure of what to do she stayed curled up in the corner. She heard footsteps coming closer to her and grew alert.

Scared, she tucked her head between her knees and waited. For what? Even she didn't know. Maybe she waited for the pain because she was that is what was likely to be coming her way.

"Get up" he ordered, angrily.

She sat still, afraid to look up.

"If you won't get up then fine"Daniel said.

In one movement, he had her in his arms, she clutched onto his shirt to hold herself up.

"You are bleeding " he observed.

She looked down to see blood where she had been sitting.

"Come, let's get you to the hospital " he said as he walked to his car.

"We are here, come on" he got down and went to her side.

He was about to pick her up when she screamed in pain.

"What is it? Are you okay? " he asked.

"My stomach..." she clutched onto her stomach and screamed as another wave of pain went through her.

He picked her up and went straight into the hospital, calling for doctors.

"You can't come in sir. Wait outside " the doctor said.

Daniel passed up and down the hospital corridor waiting for news about May.

"What did you do to her? "Amanda asked furiously, walking towards Daniel.

"What do you mean by that?" Daniel asked equally as furious.

"I mean, I asked you to go get her and she ends up in a hospital. Since it was only you and her, you must have hurt her" Amanda accuses.

"What? Of course not. I would never do that. She just started bleeding so u had to bring her here " he explains.

"Okay, I believe you, and how is she now? " Amanda asked.

"I don't know, I haven't heard anything from the doctor. " he told her.

"Are you the family of Miss May" the doctor asked.

"Yes, doctor. How is she? " Amanda asked.

"She is fine. Though she lost the baby. I am so sorry . Please come with me if you would like to see her " he said.

"She is going to be devastated " Amanda commented.

"So, the patient is fine. She just needs to rest so that she can regain her energy. She will also need to get strong pain killers for her. With the wounds all over her body, she will need it " the doctor instructed.

"What wounds?" Daniel asked.

"Well, she shows signs of abuse. She has wounds and a few scars on her body" the doctor said.

"Okay, we will but her the medicine " Amanda said changing the topic.

"Okay, then excuse me " the doctor said and left.

May opened her eyes slowly and groaned when her eyes landed on the brightly lit room.

"You are awake. Thank goodness. I am so happy. "

"It's okay. I am fine. How is my baby"May asked.

"Well about that..." Amanda began.

"What is it? Is my baby okay ?" she asked worriedly.

"You had a miscarriage. I am sorry "Daniel spoke and May raised her eyes to look at him.

"What?" she asked. "This can't be possible. I can't lose my baby. She is the only one I have. I can't lose her" she said, tears falling from her eyes.

"I am sorry. " Daniel repeated.
