Chapter 33: Lies

Haya's POV

My eyes met his like tectonic plates collided I felt shaken. He has grown into such a beautiful man, I felt myself drown in the moment I have been waiting for since the day he left. Everything felt like a dilemma I could not believe anything I was witnessing it was as though I was dreaming but the feelings were real and I could not begin to doubt that blood sucking moment...I was completely flushed.

The room began to spin and I could not maintain my balance anymore so I let gravity pull me down.

"Haya wake up!" a male's voice echoed in my head repeatedly.

"Haya, I can not lose you again please open your eyes." the male softly whispered into my ear.

(The next morning)

After a few attempts of struggling to open my eyes, I finally opened them and Zoe's beautiful face was the first thing I saw.

"Hey sleeping beauty, you're finally awake." she caressed the side of my face and tucked my hair behind my ear.

"He was here right?!" I quickly jumped off the bed but before I could take a step further I felt dizzy then fell on the floor.

"Hey! Haya what are you doing, you are currently under heavy medication. Be careful." Zoe helped me up and onto the bed.

"Zoe answer me! where is he? he was here right?" I screamed at the top of my lungs tears falling out of my eyes.

"Who was here Haya?" Zoe asked with confusion clear in her facial expression.

"Jahin, he was here right? please tell me he was here," I replied wiggling Zoe's body like a mad person.

"No dear, who are you talking about? you must have had a weird dream while you were unconscious." the old man who was with Jahin suddenly appeared in the room.

"No it was not a dream, he was with you." I pointed towards the man crying uncontrollably.

"Unfortunately I just arrived here and I do not know who you are talking about dear," he replied then turn to leave the room.

"Mr please tell me the truth!" I screamed out at the top of my lungs crying irrevocably.

"Haya you are going to get yourself sick even more, the doctor told us that you should not be stressed out," Zoe replied lying my head on the pillow then wiping off the tears falling out of my eyes.

I lied there numb wishing I could disappear into thin air. The fire that lit inside of me the moment my eyes met his can not be another silly dream, but I was high what if I was hallucinating? I do not want Zoe and her father to think I am insane...I should calm myself down and try my best to get better.

"Haya let me go ask the chef to make you breakfast, what are you in the mood of eating babe?" the sweetest human being I have ever met asked with a smile on her face.

"Any cereal would be fine," I replied trying my best to smile.

"Okay princess give me a few minutes I will be back," she replied getting off the bed and heading out of the room.

I got off the bed and decided that I am not going to let last night's crazy experience ruin my first day at my dream University so I did the bed, put on some calm music, and went to take a shower.

Flashes of last night kept playing over and over again in my head but I did my best to ignore my thoughts. I told myself that I am going to take a short-term break from smoking marijuana because last night's experience swept me off my feet.

I got out of the shower smelling like lavender, my body draped in a white towel and I wore the most comfortable slippers I have ever worn. This is paradise...I never imagined myself living this life for free especially so soon, God truly does work in mysterious ways and I have Zoe to thank for everything she is an angel.

I found my breakfast nicely put in a tray on the bed and a card lying next to the tray.

"she is peaceful

she is full of depth

by looking at her you can see she is the ocean

not because she has blue eyes

she is the ocean for she stays full and never dries

her energy is so divine

Get well soon! Zoe." the card read.

I did not know Zoe writes, our encounter was planned by the heavens. I feel special and to think I only met this girl yesterday but the connection between us goes so deep is truly wonderful.

I peacefully ate my breakfast on the balcony gazing at the ocean as it danced in harmony. I got deeply lost in my thoughts wishing Jahin was there with me.

"Haya! you are not dressed yet?" Zoe's high-pitched voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Oh snap! are we running late?" I immediately got off the chair and ran inside the bedroom.

I picked out a casual summer outfit with brown sandals and a bucket hat since I had no time to do my hair. I am not a heavy make-up applier so I did my usual touch-ups and I was ready to go.

Zoe's personal driver/boyfriend Jacob accompanied us to campus. Their love story is quite sad because Zoe's father has still not accepted their relationship Jacob use to sell drugs during high school and has a criminal record.

Zoe's father Mr. Miyagi hired him because he pitied him and Jacob wanted badly to start over. What was not part of the plan though is Jacob falling in love with his daughter Zoe...now Mr. Miyagi does not approve of their relationship but he has not fired Jacob from his job.

I think the fact that Mr. Miyagi has not fired Jacob from his job is a sign that he is not fully against their relationship, he is just a father concerned about his daughter and I told them to give it time hopefully he will come around.

We arrived at campus and we both went to attend our lessons funny thing about it is that Zoe and I are doing the same course.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" we both screamed out loud when we found out that we are going to be doing the same thing.
