Chapter 6

"Thank you." I mumbled quietly, avoiding his eyes at all costs. I could bearly hear my self but Ryder must of read my lips.

"Why. What did I do?" He asked as he stiffened up but still kept a straight face. I could sense he was feeling slightly uneasy.

"For getting the pills from my bathroom." I couldn't bring myself to lift my head up and meet his suprised expression.

"How... How did you know?" He asked returing his full attention to me who was cowardly looking down, fiddling with my fingers.

"S-Sandra t-told me. In the c-car." I stuttered violently hoping he would understand that it wasnt my fault.

"She did, did she." He sighed lowering his gaze towards the ground.

"How did you know what I was doing? Just out of curiosity." I asked not fully understanding his motive at the time.

"I could hear the pills moving in the bottle when you placed it down on the

dresser. Not to metion how long you took was suspicious." He laughed nervously while leaning back further on the bed. Making me look at him confused.

"Look. All that matters is that your going to be fine. IF you listen to what we say." he warned resting his hand down on the bed. Touching my ankle which was under the blanket making me slightly flinch.

"I can't promise anything." I muttered under my breath.

"Well. Then were going to have to tackle you into doing it." He said letting out a loud chuckle. Making the bed bounce a little.

His laugh was contagious. We were in stiches imagining the scene of me getting tackled, when the doctor opened the door and let him self in.

"What's so funny." He asked with a warm smile on his face.

I didn't recognise the doctor. Never seen him before.

The dotor looked about thirty or older. He was quite tall. About six foot, six foot one maybe. He wore glasses and was attired in a white doctors robe and black jeans. His eyes were grey and he had a perfect smile.

"Are you new here?" I asked ignoring his previous question. Both of us looking at him blankly.

Dispite our rude attidude. He remained optimistic.

"Yeah. Your my first patient here so far actually."

"She'll be your only one. Good luck." Ryder mumbled under his breath loud enough for all of us to hear. His smart remark made me chuckle, nearly chocking on my breath.

"My name is Doctor Clark. I will be your doctor from now on. I hear you were hospitalized due to the abuse of drugs. Is that correct?"

"Wow. Really, I didn't know. I thought it was because I was a turning into a unicorn. What a shame." I said sarcastically. I was getting irritated by his presence alone.

Ryder was now laying side ways on the bed in disbelieve of what he had just heard.

He was trying his best not to burst out laughing but it only caused the bed to bounce more and more. Making me also want to laugh.

Completely ignoring what was happenong infront of him, Mr. Clark continued calmly and professionally. I could see that he was confused and was also starting to get annoyed at at our consistent smart remarks.

"Okay I've been told that your a tough patient to work with by your boss Sandra. I need to take your blood at this moment in time. So I'm giving you a choice. We can do this the easy way or the hard way." He pathetically warned me.

"Hold up. F-first of all 'a though patient' is an underst-understatement. Secondly its al-always going to be the hard way with Cam." Ryder explained in between shallow and quick breaths as he was laughing so hard.

His remark kind of shocked me. He was talking to the doctor about me as if he knew me for years.

It was oddly reassuring.

But I couldn't I stop laughing at Ryder practically dying in front of me.

He was rolling sidways around the bed draped across my legs, holding his stomach. I could see that he was now crying with laughter but as much as he tired to stop he couldn't.

5 minutes passed and we had finally calmed down.

Doctor Clark was on the couch looking quite pissed off, waiting for us to stop. When he saw that we were done with our session of laughter. He cleared his throat to catch both our attention.

"So easy way or hard way, Ms. Black?"

Ms. Black. No ones called me that since the night of my families crash. Hearing that name made me sad and angry at the same time. I missed my family alot. Especially my older brother.

"What's the hard way?" I asked with a smug smirk plastered across my face, hiding my hurt side.

"I'm going to have to bring in a few nurses to hold you down. If that what you want?"

"Just call them in already." Ryder ordered while standing up from his previousy lying position, across my legs. He walked over and halted at my left hand side. His face wore an expression of concern as he looked down at me.

Just as I was about to get up out of my bed. The door swung open, reaving six new faces owned by doctor and nurses who worked here along with Doctor Clark.

My heart started pumping really fast. Sending an adreniline through my blood stream.

I hated needles.

The long, sharp, pointy thingy pricing into your skin sucking the blood out of your body. The thought of it alone was enough to scared me. Not to mention the uncomfortable feeling of the needle percing into your skin.

I shot up and with in a second I got up positioned myself in a fighting stance, ready to escape the crowded and depressing room that in was currently in.

Everyone exept for Mr. Clark kept a straight face and got into postion.

Mr. Clark seemed quite terrified and shocked at the same time as it took him a while to process what was happening.

But before I could make my first move I felt a pair of strong hands wrap around my waist lifting me up.

"I'm sorry Cam." Ryder apologised laying me down on the bed gently.

I was so shocked that I froze on the spot.

When he lay me down I was brought back into my senses. I attempted to roll over to my right side and fall off the bed to escape but as I rolled over I was pulled back by my left shoulder.

When I was lying on my back Ryder held both of my upper arms down firmly to prevent me from moving anymore, while hovering above me.
