Chapter 9

I woke up to the sound of the toilet flushing. I opened my eyes with ease because the lights were off. I turned my head over to my right and saw someone sitting on the couch playing on their phone.

I grunted and sat up straight, rubbing my eyes the while doing so.

"Your awake." I heard low voice speak.

I just grunted again.

Getting out of the bed and stumbling over to the couch with my eyes still half closed. I stumped my toe on the corner of the couch making me hiss in pain while hopping on one foot holding the other in my hands. I fell on the couch face first.

Well done Camilia.

"That's one way of waking yourself up. Not what I imagined but effective." Ryder chuckled peeling his gaze from his phone to my hunched figure laying on the couch.

"Oh shut up." I snapped sitting up straight and sighing heavily. Then it entered my head. Why is Ryder here? Curiosity got the better of me.

"Why are you here?" I said stretching my hands up in the air and yawning after my question.

I earned a simple scoff in return.

"Did you seriously forget already? Unbelievable!" He remarked throwing his hands up in the air.

"We're leaving for the mission today. It's Wednesday. How could you forget." He stated.

Hearing his reply my eyes widened and I jumped up in the air. I jumped around like a child at christmas. It didn't last long though.

I fell over the couch as I had my eyes closed and didn't see it. Ryder bust out laughing at my clumsiness. He couldn't help me up because he was too busy concentrating on not falling of the chair with laughter.

Ignoring him I got up and made my way over, infront of him and placed my hands on my hips with sass.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah where my clothes?" I asked staring intensely at him.

He saw my stare and stopped laughing instantly. Not daring to look at me again. He pointed at the bathroom. I followed his finger and entered the bathroom seeing my clothes on the dresser.

I got changed quickly into a cropped red huddie and a black pair of ripped, high waisted geans and rushed outside the door.

"Come on. Hurry up." I shouted grabbing my phone and running towards the door. I stopped wiating for Ryder to follow me. When he reached the door I burst throught the door.

"Calm down. You'll knock someone out with the door." He warned me.

"Okay. Now. Hurry and bring me to the car." I demanded. As I remembered that I didn't pay attention to where I was going yesterday and completely forgot about where I was in the building.

"Well then follow me." He said. He sprinted down the hallway towards the reception desk.

"Yah. That's not fair!" I shouted while quickly running after him.

No matter how hard I fast I ran, I couldn't catch up with him. I got closer and closer to him but never caught him. It wasn't until we got to a crowded hallway when I actually thought I'd get a chance to pass him out.

But no luck.

Once everyone saw us running towards them. They hurriedly backed up against the wall letting us through. We ran and ran. Out the main door we burst and there we were met with a black van.

"We're here." He announced while stopping abruptly infront of me.

Of course my clumsy ass bumped straight into his back. Dispite the impact of our bodies colliding, Ryder didn't move a muscle.

Owww. I think my neck just snapped in half.

"How are you so fast?" I asked amazed at his speed.

"Because I'm not short like you." He replied while pushing me in the van. I scoffed in disbelief.

Short. ME short.

Haha. I just don't have spider legs like you.

When I got inside I chose the back seat and Ryder the front. I got comfortable and put my ear phones in my ear to listen to music. Just before I closed my eyes Ryder called out my name.

"What?" I barked at him while shooting glares in his direction. He is on his last warning. I swear.

"You forgot you gun." He concluded while wearing a cheeky smile across his face.

The van was moving so if I fogot something I couldn't get it now. My precious. It's gone. I slumped further in my chair in defeat and sighed heavily. I closed my eyes turning on my music fading away to dreamland.

That was until something hard and metal hit my shoulder, startling me a little bit. I shot my eyes open and scanned the interior of the van. My sight caught a black gun on the ground.

My precious!

I quickly picked it up and looked at Ryder and saw that he was playing around with his gun. I guess he took it from under my pillow before we left.

"Thanks!" I yelled forgeting that I still had my earphones in.

I slumped back in my seat and fell into a deep sleep.

When I woke up we were driving towards the private jet. I got up, not forgeting my gun and walked towards Ryder. I saw that he was still asleep.

I tapped him on the shoulder but got no response. Then I decided to shake him awake.

It worked like a charm.

"Were here!" I announced walking out of the van and straight into the private jet with Ryder closely following behind me. I jumped on the nearest couch and lay side ways.

"nah-uh get up thats my spot." Ryder said grabbing my wrists and yeeting me accros the plane. Luckily I half landed on a single, leather couch.

"Ugh. That was unnecessary" I groaned as I got up and rubbed my left shoulder. He just ignored me as I sat layed across the single couch sideways. After a few minutes I fell asleep once again listening to my  favourite songs to waist the 4 hour journey.

I sleep too much.

I was met with the sight of one of the male flight attendees gently shaking my shoulder in attempt to wake me up.

I got up and bowed towards the male out of pure respect and a gesture to say thank you as I rushed out of the plane.

I sat in the black van once again waiting for Ryder to come. After a while I looked over towards the plane and saw Ryder stumble down the stairs and into the van beside me.

I chuckled.

"Dont judge me" He ordered tiredly. I stayed quite but couldn't stop myself from smiling.
