* (Deja vu - a feeling of having
already experienced the
present situation.)
-----------------------—------------------------------------
I read the email and it informed my that Lola was going to be at the gate in 15 minutes. At the bottom of the text was Lolas location.
"Come on." I sighed heavily and rolled my eyes infront of Davids face. I quickly grabbed his shoulders, twisted him around to face his back and shoved him harshly down the driveway.
After a few minutes of galloping down the lane David spoke up. "I just had a deja vu." He announced, taking a peek at me who was still behind struggling to push this lump of muscle infront of me.
I hummed lowly in response telling him that I was interested in the deja vu he experienced and for him to carry on. "Remember the time..." He started before covering me in his memory. "When I went driving with you and your dad for the first time. I was too scared to get into the car that you had to push me inside." He recounted, chuckling at the happy memory we both shared.
It wad hard to think that I woke up this morning thinking the this boy infront of me was dead. Gone never to be seen again. Six feet under the ground left with no happy spirit or soul. Now he's infront of me! Not to mention, just like he used to be back in the day. Bright, happy, full of energy. We were so innocent back then. And then our lifes were destroyed. Tore us apart and came back for the strand of hair it missed on our heads.
But this is our life, we live it and we control it. We may not be able to change anything about the past but the goal is to change our future so that in years to come we can say that our past wasn't so bad after all.
I silently covered smiled by burning my face into his cotton jumper. "Scardy cat!" I teased, my voice was muffled under the soft material David was wearing. He laughed at my remark and I could hear his lungs rumble as he inhaled deeply.
We neared the bottom of the driveway and through the gates. Both of us bowed to the security gaurds who did the same as we walked passed them. "I feel like royalty here. Can I live here with you two?" David joked whisking me around to his right side by grasping my wrists and pulling me forward. I took his joke seriously and took it as a chance to get to know each other better. "Well then. I'll drop you to you house and you can get a few things. You'll move in with us tonight and then tomorrow we can get the rest of your things." I chirped facing towards him with a hopeful smile spread across my face.
"It's not like your giving me a choice." He cleared his throat before continuing on with his excuse. "But I have a partner. You know, the guy who pulled you out of the classroom earlier today. Yeah he's my partner and like you and Ryder we live together sooo...." He awkwardly trailed off. "Okay, okay." I stoped and thought about it for a second.
I was startled out of my thoughts when a bright light purpleish, greyish car slowly appeared around the corner and stopped infront of me and David. When David saw that no one was actually driving Lola he scoffed under his breath in disbelief.
"Is something wrong?" I asked trying my best to hide the proud smile I had on display. "No nothings the matter. Except for the fact that.. The car is driving by itself!" He exclaimed once he had sat inside and belted himself up. "The car has a name you know!" A robotic, high pitched female voice vibrated the interior of the car. "Damn Lola, calm down. This is David. David meet Lola my car." I introduce them to each other whilst David rolled his eyes and peered his hand through the open window.
"David could you please fill in some information on the screen infront of you so that I can recognise you more and help you if you need it." Lola politely asked, displaying a interactive hologram infront of David. He shook his head and continued with the proses of filling in the form of questions. "I give up trying anymore." David stated and sighed trying to remember information. "Hold the f*ck up! " He shouted. Thankfully I wasn't driving fast or would have rode the car off the road with the fright I got from David unwelcome sudden outburst.
"What?! I nearly crashed, you idiot." I scolded him harshly as this was a serious and dangerous matter. "How does she know I work for the cops?!" David demanded loudly staring me out of it. "How that hell am I meant to know. Do I look like a car to you? Ask Lola." I suggested angrily finding it har to concentrate on the road which was not the best place to fight. Considering that this was an extremely busy highway. Taking that into consideration I pulled over before anything bad could happen.
"I'm not asking her you ask her!" He ordered, grabing my wrist and twisting it roughly. "Okay, okay. Calm down, I'll ask then." Completely unfazed by the pain in my wrist caused by the destressed male beside me. My wrist actually wasn't sore. Not because David was weak or that he was going easy in me but because my pain tolance had risen since training started. He was taken back that I didn't react to his action.
"Lola. How do you know that David works for the Gardaí?" I asked patiently waiting for an answer. As I looked at my hand I could see bruises forming on my already red wrist.
"Well, quite easily Ms. Blaze. You see, when David touched the handle I scanned his fingertips for a fingerprint. I do the same for you. I do some research and then find match. This helps me identify as you would call it 'friends and foes'. If the fingerprint and the information is verified by the CIA I will ask you to fill out this for basically to confirm the information I have gotten. If the information has any sort of fault or isn't verified, I will stay quite and send notification to Ms. Blazes phone to tell her that the person is a posible suspect. If I do ask for information I will also ask for a the person to say a few words. This is so that I can identify the person voice. I don't have to do this for Mr. Kim as Luke and I share information." She finished her long explanation which left me and David speechless.
Suddenly a man attired in dark blue and illuminous yellow police uniform knocked on the door.
