Chapter 29

We were driving around the track in silence. Just enjoying the ride in peace, in each others company. The cold breeze from the car window chilled me to the bone but in a weird, relaxing way. My hair brushed of my face softly under the bright yet cold sun rays that were peaking there way through the glass window into my car.

We wern't speeding through the track like normal but we also wern't driving slowly. It was just a nice normal speed. One where I could easily cut the turns and zig zag through the straight parts, not that there were many.

We went around the corner and were instantly met by two other cars driving ahead of us. Brightly pigmented cars they were. Once David saw them he sounded a big sigh and straightened himself up in his seat looking more alert.

"Why, the f*ck are they here?" He swore under his breath keeping his eyes on the two cars ahead of us.

"Who are they?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Pull over" He ordered me. I looked up ahead and saw that the two cars had seperated infront me, now side by side, blocking my way. The one to my right had his hand out signaling me to pull into the left. But there was no where to go. So taking a logical guess, I presumed he wanted me to pull into the pit stop a few yards up ahead. It was the one I had used to hide the first time I came back.

"Stop into the pit spot here and see what they want." David advised me, relaxing back into his chair once again.

I slowed down the car and swiflty pulled into the pit stop, slowly coming to a halt in one of the parking spaces. The cars infront carried on to the exit of the pit stop and entered through there. They eventually stopped infront of us and one of them walked out of thier cars. While we sat in the car, I turned off the ignition and hung my hand out of the car window.

"You need somthin'?" David shouted loudly out of his window.

"Hey, yeah we just here to ask ya something." The tall guy who seemed to be attired in dark luxury branded clothes, a mask. and sunglsses, came up to Davids window and leaned in.

"Sure, shoot." I replied allowing him to carry on. Not that I really had a choice.

"This car seems very similar to the award winning one which is owned by the Daredevils daughter. Have you heard of her?" He explained then asked us a very stupid question. Which David answered back in a mannerly order. " Yes, her name is Camilia Black. I met her once actually, before she died. Why?"

"Her car isn't meant to be on the raod until her body is found. So my question is, did you steal her car?" He quizzed us. Finally getting to the point.

There was silence through the car as me and David tried to come up with an answer to his valid question without getting caught badly.

Suddenly, a light bulb flicked on in my head.

"No we wouldn't even think of doing that. You see, the car has to be kept well and maitained well, orders from the manager, and now, we're hired to to make sure it runs smoothly. You know yourself, the gas, the brakes, no scratches and stuff like that. So we come from time to time, to give it a run to see if she's doing alright." I explained, took a breath and then continued. " I'm showing him what to do." David hummed in agreement with my statement, persuading the male at the window of the my car, a little more.

"Oh, okay. We were just wondering. I leave you two to do your job then." He bidded us a goodbye which we returned in a polite form. The male returned to his car and made an entrance, along with his companion, into the track and speeded off once again.

I watched until he was out of my sight.

"Who was he?" I asked. "Some sort of security on my car. I don't remember employing anyone to do that job." I clarified looking to david for an answer while I started the car and pressed the gas soflty, easing ourseves back onto the track we were previously taken off of.

"You don't remember?...
