"Remember who." I asked with a slight hint of confusion showing on my face. "Him?. How would I know him?" Saying this, my eyes wandered off as my mind did the same.
What does he mean? Am I meant to know him? Well, obviously. He wouldn't be asking me otherwise.
But how? Is he part of my mission or something?
"Is he a suspect or somthing?" In return I got nothing but an empty sigh and a blank expression. David turned his head and focus back on to the road and told me to continue to drive down along the race course.
"Unbeliveable! You ask me if I know him, and then don't even answer me or give me the slightest clue as to why and how I shoud know him!" I gave out, pounding arms with a fake yet shocked smile on my face.
But that soon disapeared, as the bright sun stabbed me right in eyes, making me srunch my face up and lift my left hand in attempt protect my eyes. I raised my hand even higher, until it hit the roof above me. After tracing my finger tips along the leather interior above me for a few seconds, I found the sun shade. Without hesitation, I pulled it down and straigtened up my back to make use of it.
I'm small, alright! Don't judge me!
Finally, I opened my eyes after my dramatic scene in the drivers seat. Once I saw the front desk main building I decided to park my old friend and return to David place so that he could get ready for our "ball" , as the posh kids of the school like to call it. To me it was just another way for me and Ryder get a better anilization of everybody and try and pin point any people who were suspicious.
"Neat." I commented once we arrived at David's place.
The house was situated near the edge of a small forest, which surrounded the modern building with tall, evergreen trees. The front consisted of glass windows showing the whole interior of the house. By looking at it I could see that the house was quite symmetrical. A bedroom at each end of the house with an open plan kitchen dinner in the middle. I could only guess where the restroom was. On the outside, the drive way stretched all the way around the back and was filled with gravel. You couldn't approach this house without being heard. The gravel was a smart, discreet option but wasn't one to rely on. When looking around the living quarters, I noticed many small cameras dotted around. The weren't very visible and were extremely hard to spot to an untrained eye. High security at such a modern and secretive house like this was warmly welcomed.
"Security is top notch here I see." I stayed while getting out of the car. David was unlocking the door when I get fully exited my car. Standing back for a slight second, I took in the view. A magnificent view.
I think I'll come here often.
With that in mind, I continued my departure and entered the house. As I walked in, I was greeted with the sweet smelling aroma of delicious, hot food. The sent wavered up my nose and my eyes instantly closed in pleasure.
Following the smell, I walked out into the open plan kitchen diner. It confused me.
"Wait, how come I couldn't see outside like a minute ago. And by the looks of this" I pointed to the mess on the kitchen island which was made from wrappers and scraps of left over food from the meal he was just finishing. " took a lot more than a minute to make." I stated.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know Einstein was coming to visit." He said in a complete sarcastic tone. But surprisingly, he apologised quickly.
"Sorry, it's because they are rear projection screens. But they're built in such a way that, on the outside, no one can see in but on the inside, we can see our. Like an optical illusion if you may." He explain using firm hand gestures while talking to me.
I nodded in agreement. "Oh like those- those, what you call them. Oh, yes! One way mirrors." I exclaimed nice remember the word that had vanished out of my brain for a split second.
"Anyways, Zeke McGlouglin, and you are." He asked while lifting his hand out to shake mine. I didn't bother responding as I new 'someone' would do it for me.
"Camilia Black. And no not the Daredevil Camilia, she just happen to have the same name. We go back. Kindergarten, as you Americans say." He states with a hint of boredom with a strong hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"No need to pretend in front of me. I know your occupation, similar to mine." I announced while breaking the hand shake between me and Zeke.
"Oh okay, well that makes things a lot easier." "Oh and by the way, your the girl I was told to drag out by that Ryder guy, aren't you?" He asked inquisitively, recalling our first meeting earlier today.
"Yeah, that was me. Ryders my partner, also American." I answered trying to make a conversation by talking about a topic he can relate to. Training come in handy in these types of situations.
"I figured, his accent is very stro-" Zeke was cut off by David who was now sitting at the table, tucked into his amazing smelling meal.
"Zeke, pack your bags. We're moving in with Cam and Ryder tomorrow.
