Chapter 5: Missing

Narrator's POV

They all continued to play games. After playing, their teacher called them.

"Everyone! Please gather here. I have something to say"

All of them gathered in front of the teacher.

"Ok. This will be your last activity, and this is challenging. Are you all ready?"

"Yes?"

"Ok. It is a race. The mechanics of the race is, you will have to collect flags in this entire place. The team to collect lots of flags in 30 minutes, wins, and have a reward. We will have draw lots for your designated teams. Each team will have ten members,"

They all have a draw lots, and when it's Ella's turn, she picked a paper, and when she unfolds it, it says 1. Ella's team is in team 1.

After all of them know their teams, they all find their team members.

Ella went to find her team, and when she found her team, she was happy when she saw Kim. Ella went to her.

"Kim!"

"Ella! Are you a member of team 1?"

"Yes. And you?���

"Same"

The two of them talked, and after some minutes, Aden went to them.

"Is this team 1?"

"Yes," Ella said.

Ella is happy that Aden is on their team.

They assigned their team leader and made their plan.

"Ok, here's the plan. We will all scatter around the place because the flags are placed in this entire place. We will all meet here after 30 minutes. Let's collect lots of flags, guys!"

"Ok!"

After planning, they all went their separate ways.

Ella's POV

I felt happy because Aden is on our team. Right now, I am looking for flags, and I found two flags already.

I saw a forest and went inside. Maybe there are flags hidden here.

I was so busy looking for flags when I bumped into someone, and that someone is Aden.

"Aden"

"Watch where you're going,"

I walked past Aden to look for flags.

"Where are you going?"

"To look for flags over there,"

"Not there. I already looked there, and there are no flags. You will be get lost if you go further in the forest,"

"Ok"

"Ella. Get close to me,"

I went closer to Aden, and I was shocked because he holds my hand. I blushed and didn't let go of Aden's hand. Even though he is cold towards me, he is still kind. There is still the old Aden that I knew.

"Aden. Can I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"Do you have a girlfriend?"

"No"

"Ok"

"Why did you ask?"

"Nothing"

"Ok"

I felt relieved when Aden has no girlfriend.

Aden and I looked for flags near the forest, and we already collected ten flags and planned to go back to our meeting place because it's almost 30 minutes.

When we get back, the rest of the members are already there.

"Let's start the headcount to make sure that all of the members had returned,"

We started the headcount, and there are only nine members, and one of the members is missing.

"Kim is missing," I said and looked at Aden with worried eyes.

"I will look for her. Maybe she is lost in the forest,"

"I will come with you,"

"No. You stay here because it's dangerous,"

"Ok"

"I will come with you," The team leader said.

"Ok. Let's go,"

"Be careful,"

Kim's POV

I was busy collecting flags, and when I saw a forest, I went inside and look for flags. Maybe the teacher hides the flag there.

I was looking for flags that I didn't notice that I am at the deepest part of the forest. It's almost 30 minutes, and I need to go back to our meeting place.

I started walking, and I can't find where the exit of the forest is. Am I lost? I can't find where I entered earlier. I'm afraid, and my feet are tired of walking.

Suddenly, I hear a man's voice.

"Kim! Where are you?"

"Kim!"

"I'm here. Can you hear me?"

"Yes"

I followed where the voice is coming from. After some minutes, I saw the team leader and Aden.

"Guys!"

"Kim! There you are. We've been looking for you," The team leader said.

"Sorry. I got lost,"

"It's ok. The important thing is, we found you,"

"Besides, there are no flags here. I checked it earlier," Aden said.

"Thank you to both of you,"

"No problem,"

"Let's go back,"

"Ok"

The three of us walked back to our meeting place. I looked at Aden, and he is so handsome. I admit that I had a crush on him when he entered the classroom during the first day of school.

"Ella is so worried about you," Aden said.

"She is?"

"Yup"

I am curious about the relationship between Aden and Ella. I will just ask Ella about it. Right now, I am so happy because Aden and I are walking beside each other.

When we arrived at the meeting place, Ella ran towards me and hugged me.

"Are you ok? I am so worried about you,"

"I'm ok. I got lost in the forest. I am thankful that they both found me immediately,"

"That's a relief,"

"Thank you for worrying about me,"

"I'm your best friend, so I have the rights to get worried,"

"Thank you, Ella,"

Narrator's POV

After their friendship moments, their teacher went to them.

"Ok, the activity is over, and now, leaders, please collect the flags and put it here,"

The leaders collect the flags and put them in front of the teacher, and started counting.

"Ok. I've finished counting it, and the team who collected the most flags is team 1. Congratulations!"

All members of team 1 screamed.

"Here is your reward. Enjoy"

The reward is a set of snacks.

After that, they all went back to the building and got their bags. They went inside the bus and back to their school.
