chapter 4
BRADLY
I dropped Roselyn at school and headed for the office. My mind was a little worried about her she seemed disturbed by mom's behaviour earlier this morning and i could not help but worry. I sat down behind my desk and looked at some files that i had to sign. Tony my assistant and friend walked in "hey big boss . You have a meeting with Mr Boseman for the new health care center in Malaysia, he will be here in about 15 minutes so be ready all the files and documents i have gone through them so just little talk and we'll be good" Tony said i just smiled at him and said thank you before he left . Hes just cute the dressing the behaviour is just amazing and hard working too bad he is Gay otherwise he would make a great Boyfriend to my sister Tamara.
Mr Boseman arrived and we went over a few details and the test was just laughing and chatting . Chadwick and I we have been friends since high school when he started his career in movie industry i was more than proud of him. But sadly we had very little time together he was constantly busy , so was i so anytime we get to catch up we would use it to ourselves. Well as for the health care center he just thought it would be a great i idea if we launched a health care center with almost every facility we can think of . He is a pure soul to be honest but I just feel bad im a bad person, dark minded and very cunning he does not even know my evil intentions with my 'sister' he sees us as the perfect set of kids any parent would want and very caring which i am not. " How is the little star of your house Lyn, i last met her like 4 years ago she must have grown up to a beautiful young lady now and your mom" he said " ohh , that little princess she is fine i just dropped her off at her school campus at Harvard university , im proud to say she is completing her Business Administration degree this year, speaking of mom she is mmm not okay i think she hasn't been her self lately " i replied briefly bringing my mom's earlier behaviour to mind. Something is definitely wrong she must be hiding something from me. Anyway not to say i just need to find it out.
" Well its good to hear that , i would love to meet them sometime soon but i really have to rush i have an interview with some TV presenter about our movie Black Panther so i have to go and get ready ill see you around. " He said patting my sholder with a broad smile " Wow speaking of your movie, that was a great hit , i mean that was just one super successful movie i have ever watched lately. My friend i beam with pride because of you. But i still feel bad you let me choose this stressful business career you could have made a great team you know " i said . He laughed a little and said " you and i on the same career path is a complete no we would have burnt the whole US down my friend , we have different roles to fill in life and each one suits us perfectly" he said oohh the philosophical talk he has always had that since we where kids .
I was about to say something when the door suddenly opened we all turned our heads to the door and to find a breathless Tony rushing in " Brad you have to rush to the hospital now ,i got a call from Theresa your maid she said your mom collapsed and she is at the hospital as we speak" he said in a hurry .What mom collapsed hospital. Only those three words sunk in before i grabed my phone wallet and car keys rushing out. I had to sprint to the elevator. I got there and remembered the VIP elevator was under renovation so i had to take the common one. I waited there watching the red numbers count slowly and i was becoming impatient by every count. When it finally turned green and the doors opened i was so fed up and angry. Three young men stepped out and before they walked away i barked " you are fired!!" How can they use the elevator when i needed it in a hurry and where are they coming from at this hour its way past tea break time and they are chatting and laughing like they dont have work to do. I press ground floor and waited as i watched the numbers count down. If elevators had accelerators i would have definitely hit it without wasting time. When it reached the ground floor i rushed to my car and drove out like a maniac
I could barely see the traffic light signals i just drove through them. When i got to the Hospital i jumped out of my car leaving it for Tony coming in the car behind to park it carefully. I got to the reception desk my hand shaking " Savannah Evans" the nurse looked at me hesitantly and replied " 4 floor room number 368A " she replied scared of my tone. I rushed to the elevator only to find its not working . Darn it. " the nurse from the reception came towards me and said " Im afraid sir you are going to have to use the stairs. The other elevator is being used already and this one is being repaired it was faulty " she said and walked away. Wasting no time i rushed to the stairs and started running up. I barely felt tired or any fatigue when i got to the forth floor. I searched for room number 368A . There found it . I tried to lightly knock on the door but i guess i used too much strength and it came out very loud. A male doctor walked out and faced me . Looking at my face he could probably tell i was nothing but calm. " Savannah Evans" i said breathlessly " He looked at me and blinked a couple of times " I said Savannah Evans " i yelled " Please calm down and follow me sir" he said before walking into an office i assumed was his. " Mr Evans please take a seat and have a glass of water." He said offering me one. Ohh i definitely needed this one . Phew i sat on the chair and took the glass from his hand and gulped it down. " Mr Evans i.. i need you to calm down a little before i talk to you. Please relax. And are you here alone" he asked " Umm no , my friend ishere with me he is on his way up i think. " i replied a little calm this time.He got up and left and when he came back he was with Chad and Tony " Chad sat on the chair next to me and looked at the doctor." Ok. So Mr Evans im am afraid and heartbroken ti break this news to you but your mother was suffering from cancer. We had helped her undergo a number of treatments in the past few months but when we got the solution to her problem she refused to continue taking treatment. You had her blood type but unfortunately she was adamant that we do not get bone marrow from you for treatment and she gave up. She came in for check up two months ago and that was last time she came for treatment . Her cancer had reached the last stage and she had almost a few more days left Unfortunately she collapsed today and im afraid that was her last. She is no more.His words echoed in my head like dream i sat there and a tear slipped my left eye. Chadwick was shocked but gathered himself and embraced me . I wanted to cry but i couldn't. I walked out of the room and walked into the room she was kept. I lifted the sheet that covered her face and looked at her . "WHY MOM WHY !!!!!" I yelled hitting her chest hard. A tear slipped my eye first until they started rolling down my eyes without control. I cried for a while and left the room.Chad was gone when i came back " Where is Chad Tony?" I asked gathering myself " He had to go and cancel his interview for tonight ha said he will be back in a few hours"
Theresa was here when i came out " Roselyn " I muttered thinking about how she would feel if i did not put myself together. " Dont worry sir i have called her school and told them to tell her" She said " Are you insane dont you think before you act she is at school amd no one is capable of comforting her there then why did you tell them" i yelled . Ohh gosh I wanted to break the news to her myself and help her but she aghhhh.
I quickly rushed out of hospital Tony was after me. He gave me the car keys " Get all the paper work done . Arrange for the funeral service and everything I need to find Roselyn " i said walking and getting into my car. Knowing Rose ahe must have left school with an unclear head goibg nowhere. I rushed tk the school ans the guard told me she left and went down the road . I drove down the road looking for her following the location of her phone i had tracked. I saw bunch of kids and that was the destination. I walked up to them and found them in possession of Roselyn's bag " Where is the owner of that bag" i asked not caring about the bag or het stuff they had taken i just needed to find her. "She's in the alley near the end of the road" ine of them replied before they ran away . I ran to the alley and found her lying on the ground. She must have passed out or fallen asleep whilst she was crying. I took my coat off and covered her before i lifted her small frame . She tried to wake up "Its ok princess,just sleep , ill take care of you" i said calmly and took her to my car. I took her to my penthouse ,changed her clothes and laid her in bed . I instructed Sasha to take care of her while i went tk finalize my mom's burial papers and other stuff. She is going to find out one way or the other that we are not siblings. But until then i will slowly reveal this to her.
Savannah was not our mother but our nanny. She had picked her up in an alley. I was not An Evans . Savannah had been left to take of us by my parents when they where murdered when we were kids.
I was not Bradley Evans I was thee Andreas Andersen .
She was Roselyn Evans since nannynamed her when she found her as a baby in an alley.
And we all used Nanny's name for safety.
She will eventually know i never worked at AA company but i actually owned it.
The rest i will tell her as time goes. That too includes my feelings for her.
