Standing up, Sam had begun listening in to how the Tactics Test would operate. Trying to get a better spot towards the Sergeant, he squeezed his way past the other students until he was next to Walter.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Seeing Sam, get too close to him, Walter couldn't help but feel uncomfortable.
"Oh shut up, I'm trying to listen here."
"You-"
Ignoring the two unscrupulous students, the Sergeant had begun to explain the instructions towards the next test, "You have all finished the Endurance Test which has showed us the limit that each one of you possesses, but that is only one factor into truly becoming part of the Ancestral Corp."
"The test this time, will begin by showing you your skill towards adapting to certain scenarios or situations. As well as your talent towards becoming a tactician."
Several students, began having hope in their eyes as they had not done well in the past test, becoming confident as they began thinking about the new tactician test.
"So, for how we will test you. Follow me, and you'll understand soon." Once finished his speech, he had started making his way towards a 20 meter tall building, which was right beside the Primary Field.
Everyone following in, Sam had began looking around the interior of the building, as it seemed to be a retro styled one with soldiers covering every corner. Seeming uninterested, he realized they had stopped moving once inside of a particular room, with several unique structures separated from each other.
Looking closer at the unique structure, it was fashioned to seem like a pool table, but as the flat surface of it was a dark screen, with a circle flashing at one side.
"What you are seeing now, is the military's latest product in this field. It's called the Tactical Terminal Version. 2, or TCT V.2 for short. It is capable of displaying several scenarios/situations that occur in warfare, but in this test we will be focusing on jungle warfare. This product will be what you'll be tested on during this test, and based on how well or far you get through it, your grade will also improve. Any questions?"
Within the crowd of students, a brown haired figure had risen their hand up. Seeing that the Sergeant had nodded. She continued, "Good Afternoon Sergeant, as for my question, I'd like to ask why the test specifically revolves around Jungle warfare, and not other broad situations like in cities and such? I don't think that others, including me, understand how to go around a place like that."
As the girl had said politely, all the other students couldn't help but nod as they began to think why the test would be based on Jungle Warfare.
Seeing the confusion around the test, the Sergeant had spoken, "May I know your name Private?"
"Soraya, Sir."
"Very well Soraya, As to the question you have asked, let me follow up with another. Why do you think the invaders are what we call as Ancestors?"
"..."
"Seeing that none of you know, let me give all of you a little hint. These Ancestors, are able to speak our old tongue, as well as dress up as the time before the Spanish had invaded. What do you think that would suggest?"
"Are you suggesting that the Ancestors are the same people from hundreds of years ago?" Hearing the hint given by the Sergeant, Soraya had spoken in doubt, then understanding.
"Exactly, across the globe, these Ancestors had invaded as the figures who we knew back in history. For example in Japan, the Samurais who were prominent during the 12th to 18th century. That is why we have labeled them as Ancestors."
"Then why can't we bring contact towards the Ancestors, aren't they meant to be our blood relatives by date?" A student had voiced his concern.
"We have indeed tried communicating with them at the beginning, but in desperate hope. We have only lost our own men to them..."
...
As shocking as the information was, everyone in the room held one similar thought. From today onward, they would be attacking the people who brought up their home in the past. Nothing but guilt, could be seen on these soldiers faces.
"No need to think about it for now young ones, you still have plenty of time until the moment you face one of them. Now then, I can hope that there will be no further questions after this..."
"..."
"Good, let us begin the test. All of you will be separated into 8 groups, each one sharing the TCT. Go!"
With the introduction finally over, with the addition of a little surprise information. Everyone had split up into 8 groups dejectedly, with Sam in Group 5, and both Walter and Soraya who had just spoken a while ago, in Group 2.
Moving towards the TCT Product that was labeling figure 5, Sam had joined a group of three other students who were in his unit, including himself. With a small introduction to the group, he had figured out the names of the other two respectively. Daniel, a 5'8" blondie with short sleeves, and a weird smile. For the other group mate, her name was Joy who was standing a few inches lower, which he would not dare to point out.
"If you two don't mind, I'll be going first." Not willing to further talk to the two, she began initiating her test as Sam and Daniel stood watching.
Time passing by, Daniel had started moving closer towards Sam wrapping his arm around his neck, "Girls like her may seem feisty, but within them they are actually cute and adorably shy ladies waiting for a man to appreciate them."
Curious, Sam had asked him daringly, "Oh? It seems like you have experience with these types of women, wish to show me?"
Realizing the trap he had brought himself into, Daniel could only stutter out, "M-Maybe some other time, she seems kind of busy don't you think?"
Tsk, rolling his eyes, Sam could only feel disappointed as he was just about to see how good a nut crack blonde like him would do.
Seeing the disappointment in his eyes, Daniel had began thinking if this man had a century long grudge towards him.
[ Joy Merna - 87 Points ]
Walking past Daniel, he could see Joy beginning to sit down as she had finished her test. Not wanting to miss this opportunity, Daniel rushed towards the testing area.
"I-I'll be going next!"
"Hmph." Still unsatisfied, he watched the glimpsing Daniel start his test. While moving his head towards Joy. "Nice Job."
"Thanks." Was the only response he had received.
'Maybe I should really start helping Daniel with her to see how it goes...' Sam began to think mischievously, letting his mind wander without a care.
