Our past connected (Fourteen)

Sam's POV.

After shutting the window, I watched the dude limp down and away as soon as he got into his car. I sighed as I sat by Lena's side, whilst holding her hand I let the cold spread and dissolve into my palms. Covering her with a blanket to at least get rid of the slight shivering.

"Samuel protect your sister even if you both get separated do whatever you can to keep her safe. She's strong yes but she'll need guidance." mom said as she held little Ro in her arms. She was so small and fragile. Just hours ago the doctor had announced that she was dead but the moment I held her hands the little fighter tightened her hold on me. I had shouted at the doctors and they said it was a miracle.

"She's weak though, so every few months she'll have a collapse if her mind goes into overdrive. Anxiety may be the addition to the cause also." the doctor said.

"How long will it last?" daddy asked.

"Couple of minutes if it's not too much pressure but if it continues longer than 10 minutes she might have a have amnesia," he said.

"My God" mom whispered.

"It will only be caused by trauma Mrs.," he said.

I was only 7 when this happened. Seven! I protected her and took care of her. Her brown eyes were inherited from mom and my green eyes from dad. It was a weird mixture but it was enough. I was 10 when mom and dad passed away, Rose was 3. We were taken to an orphanage and kept there till I was 13 and she was 6. We got separated at that time. Mr. And Mrs. Davis took her and I couldn't get to her.

I was taken at 14 by the Jackson family. They were good to me and every night I prayed she was safe and okay. When I was 19 I met Jessie and she stood with Lena miles away. I knew it was her because she had mom's eyes. But the scars on her body made me want to go to her. I'm sure she couldn't remember me.

I stayed in hiding and ended up working at a secret agency. When I was 23 I left. I met Jess officially at a club when I wanted to blow off some steam. We weren't the best of friends but soon we became close. She spoke to me about Rose and I knew I hit a jackpot. At first, I wanted to use her but as time went by I fell hard for her.

I couldn't imagine my life without her. Jess didn't know I was related to Ro. I'm sure she suspected but I knew myself.

When Ro showed up I couldn't help but smile. I wanted to kiss her and squeeze her into a hug. I knew she couldn't remember me but seeing her like this I knew her amnesia would repeat itself.

"I'm sorry I gave up protecting you but I'm here," I whispered.

I kissed her hand and pulled out an extra blanket and pillow. Slept on the sofa by the doorway passage. So if I could hear, if they were trouble with my wife, my sister and my son.

I won't make a mistake again.
