VIP Only

Book Hall.

'Well they certainly came up with a very unique name.' Aquila thought.

Walking inside, Aquila was greeted with walls upon walls of books. The shelves reached the ceiling and each shelf held countless books.

The books would surely give a lot of information, but that was only if she knew what to search for. Which she didn't.

'Does this library have any electro-energy screens? That would make my search so much easier.'

She looked around to see if this library had any electro-energy system screens. While looking around, Aquila also walked over to a water dispenser and poured herself a cup of water, slowly gulping the water down her throat.

Electro-energy system screens are 3D fluorescent screens powered by electrical energy. Some screens are portable, while others are not. The more electrical energy there is circulating inside the screen, the faster and more efficient it is.

Looking around, Aquila wasn't able to see any electro-energy system screens. However, she did notice a staircase leading up to the second floor at the back of the library. Deciding to take a look, she made her way towards the staircase. When she got closer to the staircase, she widened her eyes in disbelief.

There was a type of energy barrier blocking the entrance to the staircase. Beside the staircase was a small sign with a notice on it, 'VIP ONLY AREA'.

Aquila was simply beyond speechless at the moment.

Twitching her lips slightly, Aquila eventually decided to check out how to become a VIP in this Book Hall. Walking back to the counter quietly, she really felt like cursing this library to death. Even the second story of a library needs a barrier blockade?

Placing a hand down on the counter calmly, the librarian behind the counter almost jumped in surprise.

"How... how can I help you, m-miss?" The young man stuttered. The girl in front of him was extremely beautiful, but her unapproachable eyes despite her nonexistent aura and expressionless face made him really want to run and hide as far away from this girl as he could.

"How do I become a VIP?"

"That-that, to become a VIP here, you have to p-pay a hundred silvers, miss..."

Hearing that, Aquila kept a blank face while complaining endlessly inside.

'A hundred silvers... Why don't you rob a bank instead? That's daylight robbery...' She thought in her mind.

Looking at the librarian expressionlessly, Aquila walked away without a word.

After she left, the librarian almost collapsed onto the counter. Wanting to cry, the young man muttered to himself, "Dear Lord, who have I just offended?! It wasn't my intention to offend anyone, that's just the rules of this Book Hall ah?!"

Meanwhile, Aquila was walking around, deep in thought.

'A hundred silvers... yeah no. I robbed dozens of corpses and only got twenty-two silvers. Plus, robbing living people requires a lot more effort, not to mention I literally have zero silvers at the moment. Hmm, so what should I do?'

Aquila was in a bit of a predicament. She could choose to stay on the first floor and look through the books for information, but that may take a long time. She was certain that there should be some electro-energy system screens on the second floor since she could feel the energy fluctuations were stronger up there, but it was blocked by a barrier unless she had a hundred silvers.

'Knowing myself, of course, I'll do THAT.' Aquila thought to herself with a small smile.

***

Aquila walked over to a shelf near the back corner where there weren't many people around. Taking several books off the shelf, Aquila flipped through them before holding them in her hand. Walking away calmly with a tall stack of books, it would have been quite an interesting sight. And a bewildering one too, considering how heavy a whole stack of books must be. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, no one was looking in her direction, not even the librarian.

Blending into the shadows of a corner in the back, Aquila slowly set down the stack of books onto the floor.

Picking up the book at the top of the stack, Aquila tilted her head slightly, a mischievous glint flashing through her otherwise calm eyes. Smiling softly, she weighed the book in her hand before releasing her hold on the book.

The book sailed through the air silently before hitting a young woman's head. Frowning slightly, the woman was about to raise her head to see what hit her when something hit her head again. Frowning even harder now, the woman looked up with a murderous look in her eyes. Just as she turned around to glare at the person who hit her head twice, yet another book smacked into her face.

Gasping slightly, the woman raised her hand to touch her forehead which was stinging from the impact. Looking down at the three books on the floor behind her seat, the woman stood up quickly, slamming the book she was reading shut. Looking around with a murderous glint and killing intent, the people sitting beside her shivered subconsciously while glancing up at her in curiosity.

Just then, the woman saw another book heading towards her coming from across the room. Fuming mad, the woman raised a hand and caught the book in her hand tightly, inches away from her face. Flinging the book back where it came from, the book slammed into the head of a burly man who was about to get up. Leaning forward from the sudden impact, the bearded man turned his head and glared at the woman. Rolling her eyes, the woman knelt down and picked up the three books on the floor before simultaneously throwing all three books at the man.

Caught unprepared, the man only managed to defend himself against two of the books by flinging them sideways, but the other book smacked hard into his nose. Growling in pain, the man glowered at the woman.

At the same time, two yelps of pain came from beside the bulky man from two young men who were hit by the books he knocked sideways. Staring daggers at the bulky man, both young men stared at the side profile of the man. The man was unfazed by the stares and walked over to a nearby bookshelf. Sweeping his arm across one row of the shelf, he threw all the books at the woman. Some books hit the woman, some were smacked aside, some missed their target, and the rest hit the nearby people.

Seeing the chaos breaking out, some people left the library to avoid this fight, some ran to take cover, and others joined in the fight. Soon, books were flying left and right, followed by sparks of light and explosions.

The poor librarian tried to resolve the fight, but the people were too engaged with the fight to pay attention to him.
