Handsome Young Man?

"The old sir is going to kill us for sure! I'm still too young to die ah?!" A familiar young man whined. If Aquila was here, she would have definitely recognized this young man to be the librarian of the Book Hall in Blue Moon City.

"Hm... what's the most strategic way to go about things now? What do you guys think?" A more mature young man asked, deep in thought. His beautifully charming silver eyes were squinted as he pondered the situation. His soft-looking thin lips were pulled into a small frown and his distinct eyebrows were furrowed slightly. Subconsciously running his slender fingers through his silky blue hair, he suddenly stopped tousling his hair and smiled.

"Why look for her, when we can have her come to us?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, she's definitely going to go to the capital, so we'll just catch her when she gets there."

"Good idea! Dude, you're a freaking genius!"

"Ahem... haven't we known that for a long time already?" Someone said playfully, smirking.

"..."

While they were talking and laughing with each other, no one noticed the silhouette of a young girl jumping from tree to tree farther and farther away from them.

Landing lightly on a narrow tree branch, Aquila ran along the branch carefully, jumping from one branch to another.

When she was finally sure that she was far away enough from them, she finally stopped running and collapsed onto the tree branch. She may have looked cold and unaffected during the fight, but mentally, she was drained the whole time.

She was a Moonlight Cycle Phase 1 user going against multiple Phase 4 and above users! There were probably a hundred of them, more or less.

"How crazy..." she mumbled to herself.

Sighing to herself, she looked at her swollen and purplish-blue ankle. She had actually twisted her ankle when the heel on her shoe broke as she used her foot to intercept that sword. Although the sword didn't manage to slice her foot, the impact alone was enough to shatter her heel which in turn, sprained her foot. Thankfully, she wasn't bothered by the pain and showed no reaction, so she still managed to pull off her plan and get away. However, either way, a sprained ankle was still a sprained ankle, regardless of whether or not she was bothered by the pain.

Swinging her legs on the branch, she looked up at the sky. 'Hais... this will probably take at least a week to heal without a healer nor medicine...' She thought to herself.

'I never expected to ever have a need for the skills you taught me back then... hah, I'm so pathetic. If you were here, would you be able to finish off all those people on your own? I don't know, but you certainly wouldn't do what I did. Running away, that's what I always did best...' Staring at the sky, Aquila seemed to look into a distant world far away. Her calm eyes showed a trace of vulnerability and sorrow at this moment as she sat there staring, unmoving, for hours until dusk came.

Shaking her head slightly, she pushed off of the branch using her hands and landed on the ground softly, tactfully making sure to land with most of her weight placed on her left foot.

Walking towards the capital city again, she considered going to a nearby city to see if she could buy some bandages for a silver. She would also buy another pair of heels, but first of all, she only had one silver, and second, the durability of the last one was really bad, so it might just break in the middle of another fight. That would be dangerous. She would probably be able to get more durable shoes in the capital city. As for the money, that's a whole other question to think about.

Suddenly feeling another sense of danger, Aquila immediately jumped sideways while twisting around to see who it was. However, while she saw a dagger shoot past her and stab deep into the trunk of a tree, she couldn't find the person who threw that dagger. Landing softly, she looked around alertly, but couldn't even see the shadow of a person.

Just then, an overwhelming sense of danger permeated from behind her, attacking her senses. Using the ground to quickly propel herself, she flipped into the air and landed on her hands in a handstand. Pushing off her hands, she landed several feet away, sliding back before stabilizing herself.

Frowning, she looked up to see a person who looked more like a shadow. Dressed from head to toe in black with a hood covering his hair and most of his face, he would blend in with the shadows perfectly.

Cursing internally, Aquila scoffed at the man. Twisting her neck and stretching her arms, she looked like she was preparing to fight him. Her eyes seemed to mock and taunt the cloaked man.

Seeing that, the man raised his eyebrows inside his hood. Tilting his head slightly, he waited for her to attack. He didn't take her as a threat and didn't think she would be able to harm him. Anyway, it would be easier for him if she came up to him on her own.

However, the next second...

Sneering, she looked at him contemptuously.

"Tch."

And then...

Aquila turned around and fled.

"..." The man's face was darker than the underside of a pot.

Using the leaves and dense foliage of trees to cover for her, Aquila quickly ran away as fast and as far as she could.

If the group of people she ran into before were powerful, that guy was on a whole different level. She didn't know how strong he was, but she could tell he was much stronger than those people. Who knows, he might even be a Second Moon user!

Even though Second Moon was the highest stage on this moon, Aquila already had some understanding of the energy here and didn't think it was all that hard to reach the pinnacle of this world. Since everyone cultivated the exact same type of energy, it would naturally be much easier to grow stronger. As such, she thought that him being a Second Moon stage cultivator wasn't too unbelievable.

Then again, her being someone coming from a star, her mindset of what was considered difficult and what was easy was vastly different from the people here.

Aquila ran along dozens of trees before she reached the wall of a city and there was a large area without any trees or places to cover a person. Peeking through the leaves behind her, Aquila was terrified to see the man jumping from tree to tree, checking every branch before moving onto the next tree.

Soon, he was closing their distance. He would certainly find her when he got to her tree, but she would be a black spot on a white sheet of paper if she ran out.

'... what do I do?'

Narrowing her eyes, Aquila pondered her choices. She couldn't stay here, but she couldn't run out either.

'Hmm.'
