CHAPTER 13

"It is not your fault little one. Your family chose and I did what was necessary to get what was promised me." Gypsut was standing in the corner. "I know you don't remember me, but you will. That pesky spell on you will wear off. You have already begun to remember." A sinister smile came across his face and he chuckled to himself. I take no pleasure is killing others, but I can't let a broken deal go unpunished. What kind of business man would I be if I did?"

My anger made by eyes glow, my fangs began to extend and claws replaced my fingernails.    "You are no man at all," I snarled. "You are a monster!"

"Come now child, isn't that a little hypocritical. After all, you did worse when you were mine. You haven't remembered that part yet? Oops. I guess you'd find out sooner or later. Why don't we make it sooner."

Before the last word left his mouth, Conner leapt towards Gypsut, but Gypsut was ready. Catching Conner by the throat he continued talking to me. "Here's the deal, you let me break that spell on you and remember what I made you, or I can kill you little friend and still break the spell. Your choice sweetheart, but you better choose quickly. Conner here, can't breathe so good."

      "Okay, let him go."

"Good girl." He threw Conner into some shelves. Conner lay in a heap on top of the shelves he had crashed into, books began to cover him as they dislodged from their shelves.

He began to walk towards me. I knew his face. I was terrified of what he had turned me in to, what he had made me do. I steeled myself and closed my eyes, waiting for the inevitable. After a few minutes of waiting, I peaked my eyes open to find out what was taking so long. When I opened them, Gypsut was watching me with curiosity and amusement.

"What are you waiting for, just do it already," I told him.

"You are different. You were terrified of me, but refused to cry. You were stoic and refused to show any form of emotion. When I explained how I happened to come to own you, you acknowledged it with dignity and pride. You were only 12 at the time, but I still remember how selfless you were for the sake of your pack. I am sorry I had to dispose of them. Truly, I am. Are you ready to see who you were while in my care?"

"Do I have a choice," I muttered begrudgingly.

A small smile formed at the corners of Gypsut's mouth. "No, but I figured it would be polite to ask."

      "Just do it already."

      "As you wish, little one."
