"I called to talk about the reason you were crying. You'll have to stop wearing makeup when we get married since I can't afford to have you ruining all my clothes with your makeup whenever you cry."
"I already said I wasn't crying," Kimberly snapped at him.
"It doesn't matter if you were. I'm sorry I left my phone behind and got you worried. I'm sure your imagination must have been on overdrive, and you would have assumed I was avoiding your call because I was no longer interested in getting married to you," Eric said, looking at her face with a solemn expression.
"I wasn't worried..." Kimberly said, letting her voice trail and trying not to look so touched by his genuine concern for her.
"I'm not going anywhere for the next year, Kim. I'll move in with you tomorrow and be there until our deal is done so you can stop being so worried," Eric added, and Kimberly nodded.
