The last couple of days I focused on preparing for the entrance exam. I trained with my dad in our dojo he had purchased along with the house, which was in the basement. The room was completely quirk proof, I could let all out and didn't have to worry about completely destroying the room in the process. My dad didn't go easy on me when we sparred, in the past he would hold back at least a little but he wanted to make sure I would get into U.A.
My dad had a similar lazer bullet quirk as mine, the only difference was that he could also make them explode which created a sort of shotgun effect. I inherited the lazer bullet quirk from him and inherited the targeting/sniper part of my quirk from my mom. Their marriage was a quirk marriage, and also united my father's family clan with my mother's clan to form a peace agreement between the two rivaling families. And resulting in me inheriting both quirks and ultimately becoming my family's golden child. Which was one of the reasons I was so close with Touya and his siblings, I could understand what they have been through better than anyone else could. But I didn't totally resent my father.. at least not yet. I hated him for what he did yes, but as much as I hate to admit it, I understand on some sort of level why he did what he did. If he hadn't I probably wouldn't be as strong as I am today and I wouldn't be able to use my power to help people, so in a way I should thank him.. but not before I get accepted. I took a deep breath as I walked past the big school gates. There were a lot of people heading for the school, I noticed a green haired boy practically trip over air. I snorted a little at the scene, then a girl with brown hair caught him with her quirk, making him float. I looked around more and tried to find Sho-chan but I didn't see him anywhere.
I shrugged it off and entered the building, I found a seat in the auditorium. I had faith he would get accepted, besides right now I needed to focus on myself. After a few more minutes of students filling the seats, the lights dimmed and pro hero Present Mic came on to the stage and started instructing us what we would do to pass the exam. Someone passed out pamphlets of the robots we would face and also the arena we would be in, I was in group B. A boy with blue hair and glasses stood up and asked about the fourth robot in the pamphlet. Present Mic told us that the fourth robot was a 0 pointer, defeating it wouldn't get us any points. But I suspected there was some sort of secret test that would involve the robot. We all went to our assigned zones, all of us gathered around the gate leading into the training zone where the exam would be held. There was a spiky blonde haired kid, for some reason I thought I saw him somewhere before but I couldn't remember where. He was announcing to the rest of us that he was the best and would become the next number 1 hero. I rolled my eyes at the guy's fat ego, and he seemed to notice.
"YOU THINK YOU'RE BETTER THAN ME?!" He shouted in my face. 'Jeez this guy needs to take a chill pill.' I thought to myself.
"Just wait a few minutes and you'll find out." I said calmly and shrugged. The boy glared at me.
"THE FUCK YOU JUST SAY TO ME?!?!" This guy was so pissed I could practically see a vein pop. I couldn't help but laugh. "YOU'RE GONNA REGRET LAUGHING AT ME!!" He shouted and grabbed me by my tracksuit collar and pulled me closer to him.
"Let go or I break your arm." I threatened and grabbed his wrist. I was not in the mood to be bullied by some egotistic asshole. "It would be a shame if your performance in the exam was effected because you chose to mess with the wrong person." I said in a cold tone.
After a few minutes of intense staring he scoffed and let go and I released my grip on his arm. Present Mic announced the start of the exam and everyone rushed through the gates. I went a different way and stayed away from all the chaos. I went to the top of a tall building and used my left eye to scope for any robots, using my eye I saw through the walls of buildings around me and found some away from anyone else. It would take too long to climb back down the stairs so I jumped from rooftop to rooftop, sometimes using my lazers to propel me over larger distances. I got to a water tower that was close to where the robots were and blasted at them with one finger, making them short circuit and explode. I counted up the points in my head 'that should be about 20-30 points..' I kept using the same strategy, scout for secluded robots, those ones were the higher point values, and destroy them. '40...45..58..60' I kept count of my points. As I was jumping around from roof to roof, advantage point to advantage point I kept an eye on how the other students were doing, the asshole from earlier was handling himself well. 'At least he can back up his words.. not just his stupid ego talking.' I thought to myself. I noticed a girl with pink skin and horns, she was in an alley where one too many robots were surrounding her. She was struggling to take them all down so I decided to help her. I stood at the edge of a roof just above the alley and took some out for her.
"You look like you could use some help!" I shouted so she could here me over the sound of the explosions created by the loud blonde, she glanced up at me and looked more relieved.
"Thanks!" She shouted so I could here her. "I got these two over here! Cover my blind spots if you can!" she started skating around on the acid like liquid seeping from her skin and headed for the ones in front of her. I jumped down to a fire escape for more close range and fired at the ones that came after her from the side. After a few minutes we finished off the ones in the alley, I climbed down from the fire escape.
"Hey thanks a lot!" She said cheerfully.
"No problem." I smiled.
Suddenly the ground started shaking a lot and giant clouds of smoke could be seen.
"W-what's going on?!" She exclaimed.
"The boss level.." I said and peered into the street to see.
"The what?" she asked and did the same as me.
"The zero pointer, I never came across it when I was scouting for points. The judges must have been saving it for the end of the test." I answered. Just then, as the smoke cleared a bit, A giant robot came toward the center of the city, it towered over the buildings.
"Th-that's really big....!" She exclaimed in shock. I looked back at her.
"Listen, that thing isn't worth any points so there's no point in taking it down which means most people won't attack it. But that thing could hurt a lot of people so I need your help to make sure everyone gets to safety got it?" She just stood there frozen, staring at the giant robot. I grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her a bit, which snapped her out of her dazed state. "Don't be scared, this is all part of being a hero. The judges are testing us on how we react. I'm going to distract it so you can get as many people as possible out of the area. Can you do that?" I said to her.
"..Y-yeah!"
"Good. Wait for me to get it's attention before you leave the alley." She nodded and I climbed back up the fire escape.
"Be careful!" She shouted after me, I gave her a thumbs up then I hurried over and got closer to the robot. I made sure my targeting was locked on to the robot as I started shooting at it's side.
"Over here you big tin can! Come get me!!" I shouted at it, which seemed to catch it's attention. It used it's arms to punch at where I was attacking it from.
I dodged the attack and jumped onto the building next to the one I was on and leading it away from where the others were. I saw the girl leave the alley and start guiding people back to the exit. I kept leading it further away and blasting at it, the robot would keep trying to use it's big arms to attack me, sometimes firing it's own lazers at me, but I dodged each attack. I would have to end this soon, I wouldn't be able to dodge forever. It might cost me a little bit.. but I still had to try! I let out a shaky breath and used a blast to get me higher up. While in mid air I charged up a bigger blast and aimed it at the robot's head. From at the angle I was in, the larger blast hit straight through the robot's head, causing chain explosions from inside it. The robot stopped moving altogether. I let out a heavy sigh of relief, then I could feel the side affects start to take effect. I didn't expect them to start so soon, I must have made a bigger blast than I thought. My hand was shaky and hot, and my fingertips stung.
