CHAPTER 42: That Is The Truth All Along

The knights surrounding them didn't expect this outcome.

Saphira was completely different to the one who was always laid back.

The one who arrived with them that looks like all she knew was to play around.

Even Willow, Stormie, Nixon and Ridge were completely shock by this development.

Their travel back here made them see how serious she was in her duties.

She did give her commands but she didn't care if they were to follow it or not.

But right now, this is her taking her responsibility seriously.

Since she was voted as the commander, she would take it seriously and be the commander that the order should have.

"I am challenging you for a duel," Saphira continued still having her sword pointed towards him.

"If I lose then I won't say a thing about whatever you do under me. But if you lose then..."

She paused while her eyes turned sharp, "Act as a proper subordinate."

Drake swallowed hard while looking at her eyes.

He didn't expect he'd feel immense pressure while looking at them.

She never gave this off since they reunited, that he didn't expect he will be pressured.

But he stomped down those emotions and glared back at her without saying anything.

Yet the pressure she is exuding was not only felt by him alone, but by the other five as well.

'If I didn't know better, I'd say that she is the host of Vermilion Bird instead of the older one,' Qirin commented to Hunter.

Hunter silently agreed.

Saphira was better suited with the majestic aura the mythological beast exudes.

Raynisha seems soft hearted for it back then.

That is why no one have truly expected she would be consumed by darkness and kill her squad members.

"An inborn one it seems," Reginald commented.

He and the rest of the heads of the seven families were watching from the stands, away from the eyes of the onlookers.

When she called for a meeting yesterday, they opted to go and check how the laziest one will handle things.

He was among the three youngest heads.

Together with him were the Fletcher and Amethyst heads.

Stormie's and Ridge's grandfathers have already passed.

Together with the late Emperor.

"I apologize for the way my grandson had been acting," Ferdinand Alphius apologized to Asherton and Reginald.

Asherton shook his head, "This is the time of the children. Let them handle things on their own. The mistakes they make, as long as it is not something out of line, they can sort it out on their own."

Reginald nodded his head in agreement.

They were old enough to see right from wrong and to criticize ones action.

Ferdinand sighed.

They were younger but they received the brunt of the consequences of what had happened to their older siblings.

He really feels bad towards his grandson and Saphira.

The duel soon started.

Leaving their comfort zone, which is their home and Saphira, staying even farther than the rest. Showed their improvement in this duel.

But people could see that Saphira was nimbler in her movements.

This is due to the fact that she had lived and trained most of the time in the forest where a lot of obstacles are present.

That no matter what kind of metal attacks were to come from Drake, she was able to avoid them and even parry him. Together with it was her own attacks.

Her stay in the forest filled with demonic beasts roaming around freely allowed her senses to heighten to a certain degree.

This is what the rest were lacking, by staying in the academies.

At the same time, Drake being consumed by his hatred and anger. Him wanting to really vent out on her caused him to be narrow-minded.

This allowed Saphira to asses her situation better allowing her to gain the upper hand.

This lead to her win when she arrived behind him with her sword pointed at his nape.

The ground was filled with potruding sharp metals and the rest of the knights were a few meters away from where they were battling.

Hunter and the rest were actually able to see the outcome before they started.

Saphira had been strong.

That is the truth all along.

She didn't neglected her training and remained level headed no matter what happens.

Even though some knights are insulting her that she can hear them clearly, she didn't bother and remained focused on her battle.

That very slowly the insults of her only evading quieted and they could see that she wasn't simply evading but was looking for an opening as well.

"Hey," one captain called to those near him.

"What?" some asked snapping out from their shocks.

"She did not use any magic."

After this was pointed out.

The four generals of east, west, north and south orders, who somehow were present as well, gave each other a look.

Even though they were younger, this was still a battle between a host of a mythological beast and one with her inborn beast gone.

One was using his beast's power while the other didn't even use her magical power.

This showed the distance between their strengths.

This proved that this other person was truly capable enough to be a commander.

"A monster indeed," the general of the East Order commented.

He has Orange hair and eyes, having the fire ability.

"She will come," the general of South Order added.

He has Blue hair and eyes, indicating that his ability is water.

The generals of West and North Order nodded their heads.

With plain brown hair and eyes for the West Order general, having earth as his ability.

And white hair and eyes for the North Order general, having wind as his ability.

For the four element abilities, their hair color and eyes indicate what their magical abilities are.

Together with the rare type ones just like that of the current Emperor.

Even though his blood is of the Orabella descent, what he had was a different eye color because of his ability.

These four generals are in their thirties and forties.
